( Katherine stays out of his grasp, wiley, before drawing him forward and attempting to slam him down into the glass table in their little alcove, but loses grip as she hears Damian's pain (2) and Rooney jerks away. She hears the crunch of the knife, too, and her eyes go wide as only Rooney remains.
She knows what comes next as she ducks, giving her boyfriend a free shot at Rooney. End this so she can help. )
[He does. As Rooney lunges for Katherine again, Damian moves faster, raising his gun and firing twice (15 vs. 11, 19 vs. 11), and Rooney falls. He also puts one more in the final witch for good measure (12 vs. 10), before looking back up at her.]
There should be some vampire blood in my bag.
[His voice sounds a little faint, because he's definitely losing blood quickly, but hopefully that will be resolved shortly.]
( She scrambles over to his bag, crawling over one of the dead witches as she tugs his bag to the ground. It takes her longer than she should, a hunter's bad has compartments everywhere, but she's very familiar with vampire blood. She has her own stash as well, not that it would do any good for her, personally.
Getting to her feet, she reaches Damian in time to catch as his knees buckle and the pain sets in. Using one hand, her thumb unscrews the cap to the vial she's found before she places it at the edge of his mouth. ) Open wider. ( She tips the vial and it pours into his mouth. She doesn't save any for later. She wants this guaranteed.
With that done, she sets him down on the floor, against the bed before searching the witch bodies. She divests them of their guns and wallets, pulling out cash and credit cards, every few seconds, looking up at Damian. How is he doing? )
[Better. He's looking a bit pinker and less like he's going to teeter over in a moment. He's mostly focused on Rooney's corpse, fumbling through his pockets until he finds his phone. He taps the lock screen, before hovering it over Rooney's face so that the phone unlocks. Just as he does a text appears on the phone from his master.
Gainor: Are they dead yet?
Damian doesn't hesitate before responding:]
As a doornail.
[Immediately, a response: The doppelganger too? Show me.
He grumbles before glancing back to Katherine:]
Quick, darling, we need to fake your death. Gainor wants proof of purchase.
( But, she nods, looking at what they have to deal with and the time it will take to put any scene together. She thinks quickly. They could drag one of the witches in leather onto the bed, put a pillow over her head and shoot into it. But, Katherine wouldn't die unsuspecting like that.
She spots the canopy above the bed and gets her idea.
Still tired, but determined, she gets to her feet and climbs onto the bed. Taking off one of the sides of the intact canopy, she twists it around, tests its' weight. Sticking her head in one of the openings, she twists her body, tugs. Twists her body, tugs, and then leans back slowly. As it holds her weight, she lets go completely, hovering there, suspended.
It isn't comfortable. But it might do the job. She twists her head last as her limbs dangle, fingers brushing the bedspread.
It isn't as tight as it looks and it seems to be holding her body weight, like she was strangled in the canopy. It's all she has in the moment. )
How does this look?
( She could accidentally suffocate herself like this so she hopes it's good enough, he snaps the picture, and then he helps disentangle her. )
[He snaps the picture quickly, making it appropriately gruesome, before sending it off in response. As he unties her so that she doesn't actually suffocate, the phone vibrates again.
Nicely done. By the time you get back to base the rite should be done.]
Looks like they're doing some kind of rite. Doesn't that usually involve capturing the doppelganger and then killing her as part of it?
( She braces herself against him as he untangles her and she steps down, cracking her neck. )
It usually involves killing.
( She shouldn't care, precious Elena always gets herself into situations like these, and technically, she got her and her boyfriend into this one - but, she doesn't deserve to be bled out to old witches. Katherine knows what she herself deserves deep, deep down. She could never be Elena. As much as she wanted to be. )
It makes sense. We're loose ends. ( She indicates the phone. ) Or, we were. Elena can also handle herself. And, knowing her, has chariots of heroes on her heels.
[He smirks, but leaves it at that. Once he's made his phone calls and they both are dressed in something less overtly bloody, he'll take Katherine down to dinner while they wait for the undertaker to arrive.]

[She seems like the kind of person that inspires that.]
We should still lay low until all this nonsense is done though. I'm sure they will let us know. But we may be out of the woods for now.

( She lets herself actually smile. And then her smile falls. There are also bodies now. )
What are we going to do about them?

[They'll come pick it up too.]
And we'll pay a rather large cleaning fee, but I picked this place for it's discretion.

( She kicks at Rooney's lifeless corpse. )
I wish we could get room service. I'm starving.

[He then pauses, before sending a text to Allison:]
Inner Circle finally made their move trying to kill us - Katherine especially. They didn't succeed - and they think they did.
Not sure if that will be helpful on your end, but hopefully that'll throw enough of a kink in their plans to buy you some time.

Good luck in there. Stay on your toes.
