So was Julius Caesar when he fell through a hole in time into modern day Aruba and tried to conquer it in the name of Rome. Anachronisms can happen in a lot of different ways, but not all shifts are bad.
We're not going to argue putting your dead people back if we can find a way around that but we do want to make sure time isn't collapsing on itself. That's all.
Yes. Maybe? There's definitely a chance you could be from an alternate world where you are also dead, but it's also equally likely that you could be from here.
All the different Earths basically live stacked on top of each other but they vibrate at different frequencies so that they don't see each other, and people from those worlds vibrate at the same frequency as their Earth.
We've actually developed tech at STAR Labs to detect those frequencies, so in theory we could run some tests to see which is true in your case.

There are tests we can run to determine which frequency they're vibrating that and with some time we may be able to collate that frequency with it's respective world.
Putting them back though is going to be a little more complicated.
Time doesn't do that because me and my team spend pretty much all of our time monitoring the timeline to make sure dangerous ones can be fixed quickly. Plus our specialty is time travel, and we have means of making people forget.
Second of all, we have a couple people that we are also working on getting back to Mystic Falls, so that could help if Barry wants to check a bunch of people at once?
DONE
So, I'm not vibrating at a multiversal frequency. Because I was dead in this world.

[Barry isn't going to debate the existence of God today. That seems like a way bigger question than science is able to solve.]
@ fred
Well, I'll be happy to chat through it once things are a little less crazy.

Does this test also come with the means of getting these people back where they belong?

Time can do that?
Why hasn't time done that?
I don't want time to do that, for the record. But, it feels like something we might hear about.

Also, to round everyone off because Elena finally knows. I have a daughter and a son who are from or claim to be from or whatever another world.
We're going to Mystic Falls for DNA tests.
@ Barry
Want to meet us there? Kill one bird split in two?

Yeah! Those are good analogies for it. Though they don't sound as pretty as guitar strings do.

First of all, WHAT.
Second of all, we have a couple people that we are also working on getting back to Mystic Falls, so that could help if Barry wants to check a bunch of people at once?

Noted, thank you!

Yeah, that could work. Where's Mystic Falls?
[A beat.]
Never mind, got it. Virginia.
Having as many of the displaced in one place would be great. Do we want to shoot for the weekend after Christmas? Give people time to get there?
1/?
Thank you for your service?
You're basically describing Men in Black.

Yeah. Gray. And Stephanie. Salvatore.
Sounds like Stefan's nonhumanity tour with the Sirens band ended differently and that caused quite the chain reaction.
@ barry
Yeah, the plan is to get them there tomorrow. So, we will all be in town. BIG Christmas open house. Anybody on this thing? Come on by.
