Is there anything we should know before they get here?
[By “we” Melissa means “her” because Chris already knows Sam, at least professionally. He hasn’t met Davina, but Melissa hasn’t met either, and she’s very curious to learn more about this girl that seems to have captured her son’s attention. She also is curious about Sam, because while she is not officially a parental figure as far as Allison is concerned, she wants the girl to be happy.
At least Malia will be hear to break the tension.
She glances between Allison and Scott, and waits for whoever wants to talk first.]
( Chris asks his question coming from upstairs, having gotten ready for the occasion, a sweater settling over his t-shirt. He's dressed for the occasion and not even armed. ...There's a gun under the dining room table at the head of the table. Always. Just in case.
Scott's leaned against the back of said dining room table and Allison's nearby, still the picture of trust and connection, but now confronted about... something?
Scott genuinely doesn't know what she's asking.
"Uh, Aiden and Josh are married, Lydia's with someone, I think, but he's not coming. Malia and Parrish are official?" he thinks?
Chris comes up behind his girlfriend, bring his hands to her shoulders. He supports her and she has reason to interrogate. What haven't they been blindsided by before.
"Scott, I think she means about Davina," Allison says. "Unless, - it's true that everyone besides you, me and my dad aren't human. But, we trust them. And as far as we know what happened to all of us at the end of summer won't be happening again." She's trying?
Scott looks from Allison back to his mother.
"What do you want to know about Davina? Or, anyone? Between Allison and me we do know them all.")
Everyone invited can hold their own against your mom powers. But, I'm not going to tell you things about them that's not for me to tell. So, do your worst.
( He smiles at Allison. Look how he handled that. And then he quickly spins his head back. )
But also, don't scare my friends away, okay? They're thick skinned but it's been a long few months.
( He has brought a bag of appetizers and he holds a bouquet of flowers he presents to Melissa. )
Here. My mom always taught me to never show up empty-handed, especially if you're too early.
( but they're not. Allison comes around, smiles and says her hello's. She moved away before Parrish and Malia were integrated into their friend groups. And only heard about some semi-inappropriate flirting? With their lives, it really wasn't everything or anything. She thinks he and Lydia are still friends. )
( There are friends and then there are 'friends,' but yeah, they'll always have a bond. (Different one, Malia. Much different.)
Malia probably has the idea of how to do that, but still Jordan moves around into the living room, taking a seat on the couch. Do as your boyfriend does. We lounge.
And Scott definitely follows (she doesn't want his help in the kitchen). Malia gets a hug from Allison before she decides on her seating choice. )
Tall. But, they both have mouths on them. I think it comes with the hunter territory.
( She settles on the arm nearest Lydia, be it chair or sofa. )
And he's driving, as far as I know. But, he's on his way. Aiden's coming? With Josh?
("Yeah, Davina's getting a ride, actually," Scott says, smiling. He would've paid for her flight. Or driven down to get her. But, it's kind of nice this all worked out. He doesn't know all of Davina's history, but knows it's unconventional and probably why she still doesn't drive. )
I think Aiden and Josh have news, but, I also think I'm only on that group chat because I did in the bayou.
[Her dad is better off not spoken about, let's be honest. But just as she moves on to elaborate, there's a knock at the door, and she tips forward to peer out the window.]
[He smiles at seeing her, because it's been a minute, before nodding as he steps inside.]
Thank you for having me.
[And for giving him an excuse to escape the bunker because it's been so much drama and so many people. It was nice to just be alone with his own thoughts on the road for a while. He then holds up the bottle in his hand.]
I brought wine? The guy at the store said it was good for Thanksgiving.
[He is not a wine guy, even if he does have more of an expanded pallet than his brother.]
Then we'll have to see if we need to pay the guy at the store a second visit if he steered you wrong.
( She takes the bottle for a kiss she's been wanting. She's missed him. And there needs to be a longer conversation about how this will work. And what is is. And everything else. But for now, she brings Sam into the kitchen. )
I think you know everyone, so far. Davina is also on her way, with her gay best friend and his husband? ( She turns to Scott or Lydia for confirmation. She's so knee deep in serious hunting and leading, sometimes it's the simplest of definitions that elude her. But, she always likes context and likes Sam to have it to. ) Sam brought wine, but it has to be evaluated. I'm not sure what 'good for Thanksgiving' means.
[Sam smiles and nods as he scans over the faces because most of them - Scott, Lydia, Malia - but his head tips at Malia's boyfriend because he's not familiar.
"Jordan. Or Parrish," Malia supplies as Lydia takes the wine from him to have a look. "Jordan, this is Sam."
Sam's brain looks like he's going through the rolodex of names before he blinks.]
The hellhound. Right. Sorry - Sam Winchester.
[He's not the kind of hellhound Sam's accustomed to dealing with, so he's been curious, but they haven't officially met yet.]
("Hey, Malia's." Not boyfriend. Hear him not call you his girlfriend? He can listen. He'll shake Sam's hand though, get up, be polite... "Right." He's not used to notoriety like Malia's not used to labels. But, he supposes with who he's in the room with.
Allison turns to Lydia. )
What's the verdict?
("And you're a hunter," Parrish says. Since they're pointing things out. "One of the good guys.")
["More for dessert than dinner, but it will do." She's sure Melissa has plenty of wine for actual dinner. Lydia at least would have warned her about the supernatural livers in attendance.
Sam pauses at that before shrugging, because the Winchesters haven't always been on the right side of things, but at the end of the day:]
( Dessert means sweet and Allison has always been more of a beer and liquor girl, anyway. The wine won't be the focal point for the evening and it's not even her evening. It's Melissa's. Kind of her dad's.
But, she and Lydia take the wine into the kitchen.
Scott watches Sam and a surprised Parrish exchange words, but there's another knock on the door, and so he gets up, because his guests are coming next.
Parrish steps aside so Sam can sit down if he wants. He finds Malia to park it beside her. )
Welcome to Beacon Hills. You're based in Kansas.
( That's what Malia said, if her intel is correct.
Scott opens the door expecting Davina, Josh, and Aiden. )
[Sam nods in agreement, sliding his hands into his pockets. "We work out of an old Men of Letters bunker there. It's provided us with a lot of supernatural information we didn't have before over the years."
He's still trying to catalogue everything in there, whenever he has downtime.
Scott is correct in his expectations. The three of them are standing together, and Davina flashes him a smile, as she tries not to fidget at the idea of meeting Scott's mom. The last time she met her boyfriend's mother it was ...
... well, it was Esther Mikaelson. She's sure Melissa is an upgrade but that doesn't mean Davina knows now to deal with it any.]
("Must be useful, having that research at your hands." He remembers trying to help Lydia learn what she is. How he only learned what he was after the fact. There wasn't a lot of lore out there about Hellhounds. He has opinions on that lore being accessed by hunters, but Sam's reputation proceeds him. At least.
Scott meets her smile with one of his own, holding the door open wider to let them all in.
"Happy Thanksgiving," he says. When Davina steps inside, he gives her a kiss, before giving Josh and Aiden hugs, each. He's feeling the love this Thanksgiving. )
Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for the invitation. My parents don't know I'm alive and the wolves prefer I don't horn in on holidays.
( And usually, he's fine with that. They accept him in the bayou regularly. It's just the traditions that they're wary about. And they're still recovering from Allison's "death," and the hunter assault.

Aiden texted me when they landed so they shouldn't be too far out. Is there anyone else we're waiting for for dinner?

Not that she needs it. Melissa isn't that scary.

Scott frowns, though.

[Malia is blunt as ever, and that will never change. But Lydia will take a breath to reassure Scott:
"Not because you've done anything wrong."
Malia blinks. Oh right.]
This is like you guys introducing your families to each other. Josh and Aiden are Davina's family. Her parents are dead.
