Does Peace count as its' own world since it sounds like someone us were pulled from it? And, does that mean we're not dead there? Just...trying to follow.
[God bless superspeed because it allows Barry to go up and reread the chat before coming back down and reading the pile of new messages responding to him and he cracks his knuckles and lets the fastest thumbs alive go to work.]
Actually @ fred and @ buffy are probably the closest to what we believe current multiverse theory to be. Alternate worlds are created as choices are made by the people in existing worlds so arguably for every choice you make, there's an alternate world where the opposite choice is made. So in the case of Buffy's shrimp example there's a world where nothing evolved past shrimp, but there's also a world where crustaceans never became shrimp.
Which isn't to say that higher beings don't have a role in them (@ dean, @ jack). About twenty years ago, there was a mass culling of alternate worlds brought on by one such being, and it's possible that there are those out there that create them as well, but they also just form and collapse naturally through normal every day entropy.
It's so funny that you mention supersymmetry actually because there's this great paper on Supersymmetry and P-dimensional Subspace that was really foundational to what is currently prevailing multiverse theory today and WAIT
Your paper on P-dimensional Subspace really helped my research partner and I contextualize so much of our practical multiverse experience and I would absolutely love to pick your brain on some of the findings we've made since that was published and ...
[And then almost as though he hears Oliver's heavy sigh going "Barry." in the back of his mind.]
... and this is important but not what everyone is here to talk about so I will sidebar with you later.
So the afterlife isn't really my usual department - we have an occult consultant for that and he is not reliable enough to respond to a group chat but from what we can tell, the human soul functions as energy the way any other form of energy in the world does - it wouldn't be able to be used for power via demonic deals or any other kind of soul-related magic if it didn't. Based on the law of thermodynamics that energy has to go somewhere - souls getting stuck is probably why we have such a ghost problem.
All this to say, whatever after life planes are out there - Heaven, Hell, Peace, whatever you want to call it - is likely attached to it's existing alternate world because those souls aren't going to vibrate at a whole new multiversal frequency just because it's dead. So if you were part of this world's afterlife, you were probably just dead and not pulled in from another world.
I think my big concern for this though is do all the recently resurrected folks remember being in said afterlife or being dead? Because while I'm not sure if the multiverse is a concern there, time travel might be. And if people are randomly getting snatched out of time and dropped in the present that could be a really big problem.
Also, for context, the higher being that screwed with us directly and made all these worlds cause he liked Sam and me so much was God. Met a lot of lowercase gods, he was the Uppercase. Capital G. Went by Chuck. He's powerless now, probably up on an iceflow in Canada if he knows what's good for him.
Also, everyone out of "time," but not coming from being dead, they're dead. So, I don't think time travel rules apply. And, if Ellen's from Titanic World, then, she probably also doesn't count (no offense), cause her knowledge is probably slightly skewed and not some kind of string-theory threat.
We can definitely chat about this some time, especially if it helps the problem at hand. And, even if it doesn't. But, I do think we should focus on the here and now.
Although, I have to tell you, that paper created more problems for me than opening any doors, so I haven't thought about it in ages. Not just on account of being dead. Also, like right after I presented that paper, Los Angeles was plunged into darkness. So, it means a lot you remember it at all!
So was Julius Caesar when he fell through a hole in time into modern day Aruba and tried to conquer it in the name of Rome. Anachronisms can happen in a lot of different ways, but not all shifts are bad.
We're not going to argue putting your dead people back if we can find a way around that but we do want to make sure time isn't collapsing on itself. That's all.
Yes. Maybe? There's definitely a chance you could be from an alternate world where you are also dead, but it's also equally likely that you could be from here.
All the different Earths basically live stacked on top of each other but they vibrate at different frequencies so that they don't see each other, and people from those worlds vibrate at the same frequency as their Earth.
We've actually developed tech at STAR Labs to detect those frequencies, so in theory we could run some tests to see which is true in your case.
Edited (accidentally posted too soon.) 2025-11-02 05:13 (UTC)
There are tests we can run to determine which frequency they're vibrating that and with some time we may be able to collate that frequency with it's respective world.
Putting them back though is going to be a little more complicated.

But based on Barry's last comment, I will call the Waverider and check for any anachronisms.

In our people's cases, two are dead and remember being dead and one was pulled from another reality where the Titanic never sank.
Really.

[Barry isn't going to debate the existence of God today. That seems like a way bigger question than science is able to solve.]
@ fred
Well, I'll be happy to chat through it once things are a little less crazy.

Why hasn't time done that?
I don't want time to do that, for the record. But, it feels like something we might hear about.
