Are we thinking long-range is safest? Rusty, is there anything he has to do specifically, any way she needs to be killed? If we get our hands on something?
Is it a stretch, that a hunter would make the connection between Rosalyn and Hernandez?
( Max rubs his chin, gesturing.
"It's a witch meet either way. Could've followed us, caught on, took a shot." He purses his lips. "Probably good to get off a few after the Hernandez killing blow." Another second as it occurs to him. "That'd probably be it with our hand in it. We'd be taken to safety and, yeah, you and the gayband would be on the run." ...One more beat. "Door?")
If you bring in anyone from Tamara Monroe's splintered factions to make this look like a hunter hit, you're putting their lives at risk. I think you should, and so do they, but they're going to stick to the bottom line and I needed to tell you to your face, anyone pointed in her direction would be on their own.
( He stops short of, them being pointed to their deaths. )
Let me hear the play, then. Put them aside. What would you do? Would one witch-killing bullet make it look enough like a hunter hit?
( He just hasn't had enough time. He's sure the zealots can be tracked down and pushed in the right direction even without direct contact. Ezra could go in his place, fake it, but whatever Lucas does - that's what matters. So, he wants to hear what he thinks. )
[He sighs, because he doesn't know where to start. His connections are gone, all of the assets he had when he was alive are burned, or would take too much time to course correct.
He also doesn't know why he's doing all the planning when this is their problem, but fine.]
( He doesn't have to plan it, but he wants his input. Any plan will put him at risk, but maybe the best plan - if it comes to staging it as a hunter hit - could come from Lucas, at least partially. )
If they did, most hunters are in the wind. My husband and I aren't deep into the coven we're trying to take down. Higher-ups like it that way. Did you have a protocol if you absolutely had to reach out to someone in the area locally? Monroe has loyalists, but not nearly as many as when she was alive.
I'm not thinking about bringing more people in. That's a bloodbath waiting to happen, and there's a risk that if we bring in wildcards, I won't be the one to get the job done.
[It's a bad plan, he's not going to advocate for it.]
But if they have ears in the hunter network, we could spread the word. Make it seem like it was a big hunter plan.
( He's not wrong and that means a 1/3 chance in their bodies not being their own and two being left behind. )
That, we can do. I'm sure the Winchesters or even the Sullivans could get the word out. And for the record, I agreed with not bringing anyone else in, but I needed you to say it. You're going to have to fight for what you believe because as far as they're concerned, they just want everyone dead.
From their perspective, it is the smarter play. We were already dead. We could just go back to being dead again, and you have a much less complicated plan. So why exactly are you advocating for us when it's your meat suit on the line?
[He doesn't mean to be so crass about it, but he wants to know. He can tell he's trying to play nice with Elena, for whatever reason, but "it's the right thing to do" is not going to cut it.]

[And with that he will go back to Sierra, and Ezra will be left to contend with his cat herd.]
no subject
( To Lucas )
You were a ranger?
no subject
[So he never did the military himself, but he's well trained by people who were.]
It goes back a ways in my family, like the Winchesters.
["What a vote of confidence," Jaqueline murmurs. "It'll either be a success or an apocalypse."]
no subject
( That's enough of that pointless snark. )
Are we thinking long-range is safest? Rusty, is there anything he has to do specifically, any way she needs to be killed? If we get our hands on something?
no subject
Lucas considers this before nodding.]
I'm good with a sniper rifle, if you can get me a window to shoot through.
no subject
( They'd have a somewhere to work with. Also, get with the program, they're going with all things loop hole, got it? )
no subject
Lucas makes a face, not thrilled with that.]
Do we have a choice?
no subject
( If that's how it shakes out. Rusty stays in the wings. )
Or, if we make contact or, are able to track her after we make contact, we could push from there, but no matter what... It's not going to be clean.
no subject
Can we make it look like a hunter hit? They already know hunters are burning their bodies.
[There's no way they can miss that, even if they don't know who is responsible yet.
Lucas shrugs. "I did bring witch bullets."]

Any of you cause problems recently that could have gotten a hunter's attention?
[Jaqueline raises an eyebrow. "What are you looking for us to just offer up ourselves on a silver platter?"
Lucas' jaw tenses.]
The blond guy isn't wrong. A hunter needs a reason to be here.
no subject
( Hunters disbanded, but they didn't stop becoming hunters. )
... Do you have any ties internationally?
no subject
[He wasn't a true believer, exactly, but he did participate.]
Does that count?
no subject
( He has to make it clear. )
Can we have the room? Five minutes?
no subject
This is our room. Why don't you take a walk?
[Rusty just waits to see who's going to win the battle of wills.]
no subject
( Max smirks.
He leads the way, opens the doors to the expansive balcony, and closes it behind him once Lucas joins. )
I think we need a moment away from the wolves.
no subject
Just in case.]
Do we?
no subject
( He stops short of, them being pointed to their deaths. )
no subject
[And may still be, before this is all said and done.]
Personally I don't know if that's a good play anyway. Most of her people were zealots anyway.
no subject

Does the Colony have any hunter plants?
