PART 2: THE COLONY
EPILOGUE
Melissa samples the punch at the Underground holiday party. It's a bit too strong, but she and Chris bask in the ambience of the holiday party and talk about how far they and their kids have come. Then, they wander off to find a little mistletoe of their own. Alexander lures Jackson under the mistletoe. There's a brief moment of banter while Alexander explains the consensual mistletoe, and then they celebrate the holiday in the traditional fashion. Group chats for this particular adventure. Audrey alerts the law enforcement chat that there are two more. She fills in the group on what's going on with Nathan and Duke and when the texts start coming in, Stiles gets says he's muting the chat. Audrey pulls Stiles into a sidebar to talk about more personal stuff. Waverly offers to help and reaches out to Jeremy to see what Black Badge might know. Jeremy starts to dig into the information she gives him, loans her the chopper, and the catch up on their respective personal lives before Jeremy heads back to his Christmas shenanigans. Jeremy reaches out to Nicole to see if there was any returned on her end and make plans for New Year's Eve. Quentin drops in to the cool kids' chat to locate a missing William Queen. William protests that he's not missing, he's just out with his boyfriend, and the Merlyns complain about how they haven't met him yet, before turning on Mia and her anti-social behavior. Eventually Mia concedes that she can live with the spontaneity but we'll see how long that lasts. JR sidebars with Barry to try and find out more about what William is up to, and he fills her in on some of the deets. They talk about some of what Mia has been going through and Barry encourages her to be patient with her friend. He also says that Nora would be pleased to see her and that they should try and make plans to see each other soon. - in progress Isaac apologizes while they wait for Erica to arrive. He and Bonnie work through some of their feelings regarding the people who are coming back into their lives. Isaac is happy to see Erica but feels bad about everything she's missed, while Bonnie has moved on from Enzo, but will be happy to see her Grams. They talk about next steps and agree to spend some time in New Orleans, as well as eventually going to Mystic Falls to meet Melissa. Derek and Erica arrive, and they are both introduced to Bonnie, and they take time to catch up on things, before swinging around to pick up Shelia and Enzo. On the way back to Mystic Falls, they discuss Shelia's connections to Beacon Hills, and she's also interested in visiting there to further investigate the Nematon, and maybe see Deaton and Morell. They drop Enzo off at Damon's, before heading to the pack house. Allison and Erica have a sidebar where she apologizes for the things that went down before her death and Erica accepts. Sam and Shelia talk about their time together in Mystic Falls, and then they move to settle everyone in. Jackson might be a Pokemon, and they all settle in to get ready for the party. Cora builds a plan of attack for getting everyone settled. They plan to drop Jenna off first, then Liz and then head to the pack house. Stiles and Cora try to get the rest of them caught up on the status of their loved ones and some of the things that have happened so far, and there's a lot of clarifying information and introducing new people. Laura continues to be recalcitrant and moody and very much a Hale. When they arrive at Damon's house, Elena and Jeremy are waiting for Jenna and there are hugs all around. Elena tries to catch Jenna up on some of their lives, and introduces her to Buffy and they settle in to have some wine and casual chatting. Elena catches that something is off with Buffy, but can't read between the lines to figure out what it is and assumes it's just everything that happened in Baltimore. They continue to chat and catch up before Elena excuses herself to go get ready for the party. Erica is there to greet the arrivals at the pack house, and stumbles into an awkward version of the future with Stiles and Cora. After the Hales leave them alone, she and Stiles work some of it out, but Erica is still feeling a little out of place in terms of where she fits in to her pack now, given all of their lives have changed. Laura goes to find her brother, and she and Derek have a touching reunion. He offers to skip the party with her if she just wants to stay in, but she admits that the only way she's going to get used to the new people is if she meets the new people, but she'll pull the rip cord if she needs to bail. Plus free food. Sam fills Cordy in on the new addition to the Winchester family. Cordy gets introduced to Lisa and Ben and promises to come bother them at the party later. Lisa and Sam get to clear the air some about what to expect moving forward, and he and Ben leave to get coffee and talk. When Ben returns, he and Dickerson talk about the coming evening and as Ben is talking about his nerves regarding the upcoming evening, Dickerson kisses him. Ben does not take this well. He feels like Dickerson doesn't actually listen to him and won't let him just sit with his problems when he needs to, constantly trying to fix a perceived problem. Dickerson fires back in turn, and Ben leaves, going to take a walk to try and cool off. Rudy comes to check in and see what's wrong and he and Dickerson get to talk about what happened. Rudy reassures him that nothing is permanently broken, but reminds him that it might do him some good to think about why Ben was upset, give him some space and apologize later. A fight isn't the end of the world, they just need to remember to talk to each other. Ben accidentally stumbles across Dean, Elena, Damon and their kids in a heated moment and ends up making things a little awkward. While Elena and the others go in to the Grille to get a table, he and Dean take a walk to talk through what has Ben so upset. Ben admits that he's nervous about going to the party later and that it means a lot that Dean invited him. Then he explains the fight with Dickerson and they discover that they may have more in common than they thought. Ben also warns him that Cordy's already making friends with Lisa, and Dean explains that how much he trusts her, and that she can know anything she wants. Ben agrees to head back to the Grille with him, and they head off for lunch with the Salvatores. Elena tells Dean about Isobel while they wait for her children to arrive. They decide that it's best to be prepared, and maybe plan for an outdoor or public setting for Barry to check out everyone so they don't have to invite her into the Lockwood Manor. As Stephanie and Gray pull up with Damon, she realizes that she recognizes the car and then she realizes that her mom isn't just dating someone else, she's dating Dean Winchester, one of her favorite characters from her favorite book series. She proceeds to have a crisis about it. Elena comes down a little cold upon meeting her children and Gray doesn't take that well, before imploding and spilling the beans on Dean being fictional. Stephanie reveals that she has read the books, before following her brother inside and telling him off for throwing her under the bus. They talk through some of Gray's feelings and while Elena and Damon set up the test, Dean talks through what Stephanie actually knows and what he doesn't want to know. They take the DNA test and Elena and Gray step off for a moment to talk through some of his concerns. They come out of it in a better place. They head to lunch, and when Dean's son appears, Damon has some questions. He and Elena catch up, and when Ben and Dean return they navigate an awkward blended family conversation. Miranda goes to catch up with her old friends. She and Grayson arrive to see Liz, and Carol follows not long behind and they ask a lot of questions about how the other two women adjusted to the elements of the supernatural in their lives. Eventually it comes out that Isobel is one of the people who came back, and the Gilberts step to the side to call their daughter to make sure she knows. When Elena reveals that she does, Miranda, getting a little frustrated with consistently being the last to know, lashes out at her daughter and emphasizing that things need to change. Grayson gently points out that maybe Miranda is being too hard on her, and Miranda just needs something to change. Stefan and Enzo hash out some of their history. - in progress Jo(anna) is surprised by Jack and Cas' arrival. They help her carry in some of the booze and Jack introduces himself to Jo. Jo stumbles through a conversation with the current god and gets to know him a little better, while also being her usual charming self. Cas returns with Sam, who has some questions about another nephilim he met. Cas fills in some of the gaps about Julian, Waverly's father, but apparently he's been missing for almost forty years. Sam tells them that he'll be coming back down with the Earps and they can try and figure out more of what happened then, as well as meet Waverly. And with that, they go back to enjoying the party. Jo(anna) stumbles across Dean in her planned hiding space. - in progress Isaac teases Erica about her fishing for alcohol. She turns to Tyler to help and he explains that Mystic Falls has a long history of underage drinking. Erica ask for recommendations and makes off with a bottle of vodka and extra glasses. Isaac and Tyler hang around and catch up, talking shop on various topics until Isaac makes a comment about things staying quiet and Tyler tells him that is a mistake. As though on cue, Stiles appears to ask some questions about Black Badge, and they direct him over to Alexander and Serena to see what they know. Liv tracks Tyler down at the door to take some time about what they're looking for in the future. She asks him if he wants to be a father, and he agrees, and counters with asking her if she wants to be married. She also agrees and they put that as first on the agenda for the new year, before sneaking off to spend some quality time away from the party. Isaac goes to find Bonnie and brings them some additional snacks. He delivers a Christmas gift from both himself and Danny, as well as a message from Danny for the end of the year. Alexander appreciates Stiles' report in terms of The Christmas Carol adaptations. Erica takes her bottle back to Stephanie and Gray. - in progress Cordy accuses Angel and Sam of being anti-social. They take their gentle ribbing as Cordy encourages Sam to introduce them to Allison. They chat for a bit and Allison and Cordy decide to go see what they can find out about Ben's friend Dickerson, as well as properly introduce Allison to Lisa. Cordy and Allison chat a bit about how Allison and Sam got together, and eventually they run into Rudy and Lisa. Cordy introduces them, and they chat a bit about the party and how they're getting to know each other. Cordy and Allison try to ask about Dickerson, and they get deflected over to Ben. Rudy and Lisa theorize about what the two of them are digging for, but are generally enjoying the Christmas spirit, as well as getting to know everyone. Ben gets his conversation with Dawn interrupted by Allison and Cordy. They gently probe him about his life, while Cordy and Dawn banter about their lives in Sunnydale. Eventually Elena crashes into the conversation with gifts for both Allison and Ben, Allison's practical and Ben's intending to be amusing. As they finish, Elena arrives to deliver her last Christmas present of the evening. Dean follows her out to the car, where she delivers her gift - a box of his favorite tapes, and a mix tape. After that, they get some quality time in before things ramp up again. Dickerson is waiting when Ben comes inside. - in progress Isobel arrives to cause some chaos. - in progress Bradan is scrambling for seats at the winter spectacular. He's startled to realize that the seats he and Ciara have picked are next to Niall, who he hasn't seen since college, who also happens to be the father of Maeve's best friend. They start to catch up a little after the show, and Niall and Cole are invited to Christmas dinner. Bairre and Quinn drive back to the house together, and they have a quiet talk about Danny, their family, and everything that they've been through this year. They arrive at the house and have dinner, before Bradan and his brother take their beers and head out to the backyard. Callahan tries to encourage Bradan not to shut himself off to the possibility of things with Niall, but Bradan doesn't want to be a rebound, so he's taking things slow. Niall takes Callahan's place, and they talk some more, finding some of their familiar banter, though Bradan still keeps his distance. Quinn eventually leaves the party and pays a visit to Danny, Eliza and Lizzie and they welcome her in to watch a holiday film. As they watch, Danny and Eliza get caught up on the family gossip, including the new potential love interest for Bradan. Sara talks with Doc about the future at the work holiday party. Sara reveals that she's on the short list to lead the new office in New Orleans, and she'd like to take Doc with her, if he's willing. Doc says he'll have to talk about it with his wife. Rebekah and Neal catch up as they get drinks for their partners, and Neal reveals that he may be moving to New Orleans soon. Rebekah promises to share all the important spots and reveals that New Orleans may be far more supernatural than they previously anticipated so maybe they shouldn't try and convince Peter to move there. They head back to the table and Sara shares the news with Rebekah, and Rebekah says they will have to discuss it, and she and Doc head off to dance. Neal and Sara stay behind to talk about what they might expect of their new life in New Orleans, and whether or not they should tell Mozzie about the supernatural. Sweets eventually comes out to see if Taylor still wants latkes, and as Taylor is about to tell him about Ryan's new status, Sandy comes out to cook some burgers on the grill. Sandy asks Caroline to come over to help him, and they have a quick talk about Ryan and checking in to make sure he's okay. Caroline confirms. When they're done, she heads back over to Ryan who checks in on her crash out earlier. Ryan then tells her that he loves her too, and they head back in to get some latkes. Scarlett greets the wrong son at the door on Christmas. Wes reads her disappointment when she sees him and Jay Michael at the door and she explains that Rusty is coming. The group comes in to talk and eventually Melanie arrives. Wes drops a hint that Melanie may have a new gentleman caller, and Rusty arrives before Scarlett can dig into that too deeply.
