PROLOGUE
Russell makes the wrong choices in friends and love. Melanie is in France in search of Scarlett. She runs into Damon as she gets off the ship and explains the situation - that Scarlett hasn't been responding to her letters and she's worried something has happened to her. Damon agrees to help her look, and after asking around with her colleagues at the ANC as well as local vampires, they find out that Scarlett's been taken in by a group called the Ivory Tower. They're given directions and an invitation to one of their latest salons, and decide to head their next to find Scarlett. Damon and Melanie arrive at the Ivory Tower salon. They split up to go in search of Scarlett, and Damon happens to catch the eye of Donna and Aalis. Donna makes her way over to see if she can see what the new faces are up to. She leads Damon over to where Scarlett is staying and while he and Melanie try to persuade her to leave, she's still smarting from her fight with Rhett, and needs more time. So they leave her there at her request and head back to Melanie's hotel. Miranda sees something weird at a party near the Old Mill. Shep works through waking up in transition and being in the company of the Underground. Donna protects Harvey from a opportunistic vampire. After the confrontation, Donna realizes she has to read him in on the world beyond his awareness and she takes him back to his place for a drink and the revelation that she's not just the best legal secretary in New York - she's also a vampire. Harvey's mind is blown as he takes in the fact that not only is there a world he doesn't understand, but also opportunities at the firm he could take advantage of. Donna tries to dissuade him from doing that as it's not safe, but Harvey's ambitious and wants to prove he can handle it. Donna asks if he will trust her if she says it's someone he should steer clear of someone, and Harvey is Harvey about it, but Donna puts her foot down that if he decides to work for certain clients that she's warned him against, she will walk away. Harvey takes that seriously, and they agree to see each other tomorrow. Sierra and David share their secrets. Jaqueline has bad news for Sierra. She spots David and realizes he's possessed before running to warn Sierra, only to find that Sierra is on her way out the door. Jaqueline takes that about as well as could be expected, given both of her anchors are being yanked out from under her, but when asked to go, she refuses. She's not going to leave without Max. They don't really speak for a while, but eventually Jaqueline reaches back out again, unable to go without one of her lifelines. She lets Sierra know that the coven has hired Damian Jericho to try and find David, though unclear how successful he'll be. Sierra tries to renew their relationship some, asks Jaqueline again if she'll leave, and again she demurs in favor of her brother. They're finally reunited (sort of) at David and Ezra's wedding, though Jaqueline is disappointed to find out she's an astral projection. Sierra asks Jaqueline to come visit her, and she considers it more seriously this time, now that some of her obligations have been lifted, and she says she'll talk to her mother about it. Elena feels an unwelcome attraction to the new bad boy in town. Allison says goodbye to Lydia in Paris. Liv struggles with trying to determine what her life looks like after the merge. David comes out of being possessed by a demon and Ezra helps him relearn how to be a human again. Lindsay finds a vampire at her desk. She and Damon banter back and forth as Damon tries to suss out the location of his brother and eventually Lindsay reveals that Stefan is downstairs in a holding cell after he attacked her when he was trying to get away from Dorian. They go down to see him and find out that Stefan is no longer under Cade's control, but is buckling under the weight of the things he's done. Lindsay, being the straightforward Slayer she is, suggests that maybe they just kill the Devil. After a lot of strategy, they reach out to Liv and Tyler to see what the Armory may have found. Liv theorizes that Ethan Maxwell may have had a weapon to kill Cade, and they needed to find it. Lindsay loops in Beck to meet up with Liv and they go to track down Peter Maxwell, who fills in some of the gaps they're missing. Damon also calls Caroline, because they need someone to stay with Stefan, and she and Bonnie come down to the station to get in on the plan. They devise a plan to lure Cade in and have Lindsay ambush him once he's corporeal. Once that's solidified, Lindsay pulls Beck off to the side to let him know where he'll find everything he needs in case things go wrong, and she asks if he'd be willing to stay on as her Watcher. He agrees and they head off to the waterfall where they take out Cade and watch as he bursts into flames. Bela stumbles onto an amnesiac Original vampire. She manages to talk Elijah into trusting her to a degree and tries to fill in the blanks that she knows - unfortunately she doesn't know much. Eventually she reaches out to Klaus to find out what happened, and finds an irritated Klaus who explain the situation with the Hollow to her and what Elijah needs to do. She agrees to take charge in making sure that Elijah doesn't cross his siblings' paths and takes him to Australia for an adventure. After Klaus hangs up, he fills Cami in on where Elijah has landed, and she reassures him that he can still parent from a distance. Cordy haggles for her and Angel's lives with the Powers that Be. Cordy and Sam stumble across some alternate universe transplants in an abandoned hospital. As they wander through, they come across three doctors who do not take being transplanted universes well. As they're trying to explain to them what's happening, Cordy has a vision and Alex gets grabbed by a group of ghouls and Cordelia rushes Cristina and Meredith to the car while Sam goes after Alex. They take out some of the ghouls and head back to the bunker to figure out what the residents are going to do next. Stefan gets lured into speed dating and meets a vampire slayer. Stefan is looped in to helping try and find a solution for Malivore. Josie is lured back to the Abattoir to talk to Hope. While Hope is there to thank her, Josie still has a lot of anger she's processing about the things Hope did, mostly to Lizzie. She's glad that Hope is okay again, but with all things, it's #complicated. They have a long chat about where things go from here, and Hope asks if Josie is going to return to the Salvatore School. Josie says she isn't sure and that she has to find her own path, but wherever that path takes them, she still intends to be part of Hope's life, for better or worse. Kieran goes in search of a Original. After tracking him down at his current local haunt, she gets his attention by telling him that she has a proposal for him. After detailing him on her plan to try and solve the problem of why vampires can't do magic when heretics can, Kol takes the bait and thus begins a beautiful friendship. Kol realizes that things are more complicated with Kieran than he may have thought. Stefan & Faith are sent on patrol together. They're given some time to bond and banter while they wait for a potential vamp to wake up. Ben hears that Dickerson and his fiancée have broken up. Allison & Chris recruit the Winchesters into their plans to take down Monroe. Caroline's vampire problem senses are tingling about a handsome architect she met. Caroline helps a transitioning vampire, Ryan Atwood, adjust to his new life as a creature of the night. Carroll gets to know one of the new associates better.

They agree to cover more ground with sending Isaac and Eliza back to the parents' house, while William and Gloria head for Bridget's. They manage to catch Bridget just as she's arriving, but their attempt to talk her down is interrupted by Cooper checking on the people there. Bridget gets upset and brings down the building around them. Cooper manages to get William out of the way of falling debris, and they wind up trapped together underneath the rubble. While they discuss the merits of the the sides they each chose, only to have them rescued by Mia, Spike and Mickey posing as "Garrett." Mia is stunned to see her brother there, and there's a minor sibling squabble as people get rescued. Once Gloria and Bridget are rescued, they start to make their way out, and are ambushed from above. Spike and Bridget are killed in the ensuing mess, and Mickey and Cooper make their escape in the chaos. Bridget makes an unexpected arrival back home. She tells Bonnie and Danny what happened, leaving the family staff with her brother. Bridget instructs Bonnie to protect Danny and get him out, and once Bridget is gone, Bonnie and Danny begin to concoct a plan. As they prepare to leave, Bonnie touches base with Caroline, who loops in Stefan. Stefan checks in, while also looping in Faith to give Bonnie some extra backup. She also checks in with David who also happens to be in witch town. He meets up with Bonnie and Danny as they start moving through the streets to gather and get them out of the city. As they're getting everyone together, hunters begin to close in and David takes drastic measures that Bonnie isn't a fan of. He promises to keep it cool, and when another hunter comes up on them, they're intercepted by Faith, Stefan's backup. Faith offers to stay close to Danny and keep him safe while Bonnie and David head off to try and track down more witches. While Faith & Danny prepare to head to the sewers, Eliza and Isaac arrive. Danny sends Isaac after Bonnie and David, just to make sure his friend stays safe. The witches travel onwards, and eventually reach the end of of the line. They're about to brute force the spell when instead, the spell disappates, and Danny realizes his sister is dead. David & Bonnie branch out into the city, and start knocking on doors to try and keep the witches safe. When a batch of hunters arrive, they are rescued by Isaac Lahey, sent after them by Danny. While he's being patched up, David gives a brief rundown on what happened that put him in this condition. Faith calls Mia back. They touch base about Spike, and Faith says she's heading back to the hotel. Mia then comes clean to her brother about everything that's been happening while she's been gone. William gives her an ultimatum to call their father or he will. Mia calls Buffy first, to get her up to speed and they have a heart to heart about running away. Then, she calls Oliver, reassures her father she's okay and that everything is going to be fine. Oliver and Laurel discuss what to do next, and she touches base with William and they talk about what he plans to do next. After William resolves to stay, Isaac comes and makes him an offer to officially join Team Argent. Isaac & Bonnie hide out at Eliza's. They touch base on what they'll have to do so far, and make a plan for doing damage control. After recruiting Bela and Elijah into the mix, the witches return and force Isaac out of their town, blaming him for being part of the problem. Danny and Bonnie reunite, and decide to figure out what they're doing after they bury Danny's parents. Bonnie puts him to bed before filling in Caroline and putting her to work on finding out more about the Colony. Isaac touches base with William and Allison. Mickey takes him out to the bar and after a few drinks, leaves Coop alone for the night. Soon after, William arrives and they connect over some more drinks, and William takes Coop back to his hotel room. When they're messing around, Mia interrupts with a message from their father and to give her brother crap. Once she's gone, he and Coop pick up where they left off, and Coop leaves William his number in the morning. Stefan arrives in witch town. He checks in with Bonnie first and offers her and Danny a spot on his return trip home back to Scotland. Then he checks in with Faith, and they craft a plan for moving forward - Faith heading with Mia to the next destination and Stefan heading back to see if they can find any information on Monroe.

Allison arrives in New Orleans and consults with the heads of the three factions what to do about the incoming hunters. Davina forms a plan and Scott calls in reinforcements. Lydia gets rained out in Mystic Falls and meets a hot bar owner. When her banshee senses start tingling, she decides to stay, texting Stiles that something bad is going down. Stiles arranges for Derek to divert to Mystic Falls and touches base with Isaac in Europe. Stefan & Buffy get ambushed by a hunter on their way in to Mystic Falls. A call from Damon interrupts the clean up, and they all onto high alert. Damon calls Elena while she's on shift at the hospital, and gives her a heads up of incoming trouble. She heads to the Salvatore house after work to say hello to Stefan and Buffy, and volunteers to go out to the rest stop to see if they can get any additional information on the hunter. Cami & Klaus fly out to celebrate Hope's graduation and get picked up from the airport by Hayley, with bad news about an incoming hunter problem. THURSDAY: DAY 2
Davina & Scott are sent on a mission for Freya. Davina explains about how magic works in New Orleans and opens up a little about her past, though she doesn't know what to do with Scott's empathy. They speak to the witch Freya sensed, and give her the means to get set up in New Orleans, and agree to meet with the pack about potential solutions to her problem, before going on a nice motorcycle ride. Elena goes out to the convenience store and gets some unexpected help from Dean Winchester. Dean and Sam fill her in on the hunter problems they've been working on and Elena abruptly takes off to fill in her friends. (In the meantime, Sam gives his brother shit about the mystery girl.) They continue to work the case until Elena meets up with them again, and they clear some of the air. Elena agrees to go undercover as Katherine in a hunter bar, and they manage to kidnap the hunter in question and bring him back to House Salvatore. Katherine & Damian get ready for a night out, talk about potentially finding someplace permanent to call home, and get diverted to Mystic Falls after an unexpected call from Stefan Salvatore. Stefan also discusses Katherine coming to town with his brother and digs for more information about the Winchesters. Team Mystic Falls, sans a few key players, converge on House Salvatore with a hunter to compel and to get everyone on the same page. The hunter is on vervain so the information train is delayed for a moment and there's some squabbling about where people are going to sleep, but eventually the Winchesters head over to Elena's for a good night's rest. Alexander & Jackson rescue a family from Monroe's hunters, do some flirting, and find out about the incoming attack on Mystic Falls and agree to help. FRIDAY: DAY 3

Dean & Elena have a brief moment over booze, before he gets in some bonding time with the other hunter in the room. Meanwhile, Hayley & Katherine get to work on the hunter in question, managing to pull some details from his compellable mind, but when the rest of the group joins the party, they find that things aren't quite as they seem. Buffy, Caroline & Elena get in some girl talk, until Caroline is interrupted with a call from Ryan who is totally just a friend. Their chat is interrupted by Stiles stumbling bloodily onto the scene, who Elena assesses and says he needs a hospital. Once they leave, Hayley and Jackson return from the woods to confirm that Derek is indeed gone. Jackson loops in his witch friend to help, while Damon takes steps to get them an inside man, just as a haunting screen is heard. Ric feeds her some information on Ezra and that Damon did a murder, before promising to handle graduation. Damon & Damian discuss the next phase in their plan for the new hunter vampire. They come to a consensus, and are settling in to wait as other plans play out. Alexander arrives to aid in the hunt for Derek Hale, and Stefan tells Jackson what's happened to Stiles and Lydia. After some start and stop spells, Alexander manages to get a location that he passes over to Hayley and Stefan so they can plan their murder party with Damon and Klaus. Alexander drives Jackson to the hospital, where they share a moment and a brief kiss. When Jackson makes his way in, Lydia informs him of Dean's poor choice of words with regards to Stiles' potential transition and they decide to take it to Allison. Allison and Scott are less than pleased with all this news, and decide to fly out to Mystic Falls. Before they leave, Allison sends out some texts to Cora, Freya and Sam to touch base about what's happening. Ezra reaches out to his contacts, Damian and his husband, to get more information on the current situation and try to build a plan of attack. Damian fills him in on the incoming hunter apocalypse that he's been helping try to wrangle and learns that Ezra is actually in town. David takes most of the information in stride, before knowing that he needs to take some of it to the elders. As people begin to arrive, things are said, and Cas and Jack are brought in to help Elena's recovery. Eventually, Elena does wake up, and the hospital group receives word that the rescue team has succeeded in getting Derek back. Hayley & her murder friends stage a bloody rescue. After murdering all the hunters, they rescue Derek from the grips of a witch, that seems to have implemented some kind of curse in the downtime. Hayley fills Derek in on what happened to Stiles, and Derek checks in with his sister to tell her he's okay. Stiles wakes up. He takes the fact that he's died fairly well. He decides to become a vampire and Caroline begins giving him vampire 101. Ezra comes back to find Elena completely healed, and while he tries to push her for specifics, he doesn't get very many. When Allison and Scott arrive to check on Stiles, Ezra ducks outside to make a call to his husband and finds out an rival witch is coming to town. Sam picks up the Scott, Allison and Cora from the airport. They have a brief discussion about the status of things, and Allison is less than pleased to find out about their in-transition hunter. While Cora goes up to talk to her brother, Sam comes in to talk to Damian about the Allison situation. Damian bribes Jackson into putting in a good word for him. Jackson texts Lydia to check in, and tries to convince her to get some sleep. Lydia gives Stiles her phone to call his dad, while Caroline makes a pitch for Scott to come see the school. Ryan finally shows up with Caroline's clothes, and agrees to stream the graduation for Elena. Cora went to check in with Derek, and they got on the phone with Freya to try and assess what the hunters might have done to Derek. Freya confirms that they need to go back and find the moon stone, so Cora and Derek opt to loop in Jackson and Alexander so they can find their way back. Jackson plans a breakfast date for him and Alexander and he agrees to make Stiles a daylight ring as a favor. David swings by to pick up Harvey. They take a quick door trip to Mystic Falls Hospital, where they pop in on Elena quickly. Once that's done, they head up to Ezra's office where they discuss the situation and discover a potential nephilim on the board. Then, David and Ezra head home for a happy reunion. Pre-Grad, everyone begins their preparations for the day. Stefan & Buffy share an early morning moment before they have to get up and make their way to the ceremony. Dean & Jo bond over their kids being all grown up. Sam & Allison get to know each other a little better and they both clean up good. Grad, they graduate! And in true Mystic Falls fashion, Alexander texts Ric to tell him that there might be a new threat in town. Post-grad, they have a party. Caroline & Tyler catch up after Caroline gives Scott a tour of the school. Hope & Josie share a dance before sneaking off to get some teenage alone time. On the way, Jack lets them know that he can come on the trip to Europe. Jo congratulates her daughter and makes a promise for an ice cream chat later. Then she retrieves her magic when Ric sends her to pick up Elena from the hospital. Hayley & Tyler make amends for the past, and later Hayley congratulates Hope and reassures her that she'll always have a place in New Orleans. Jack asks Sam about possibly going on the trip to Europe. Sam agrees to convince Dean and talks him into it. Later after Elena gets home from the hospital, she and Dean bond over their terrible supernatural lives. She lets him in on her plan with Jo and then they get even closer. At the end of the night, Caroline & Ryan have a talk and take the next step forward in their relationship. Jo & Lizzie have a talk about first loves and moving forward. SUNDAY: DAY 5
Lydia arrives early for the pack meeting at the Grille. She and Damon have a chat about everything that happen, where she says she'll think about having dinner with him. The pack then gets together to talk about their next moves and decide to get a house in Mystic Falls. Damon checks in with Lydia after. He offers her a realtor and tries to get a firmer answer about their date, but she continues to play hard to get. Lydia and Allison talk shop and then get a bit of gossip in where Lydia convinces Allison to take Sam for a test drive. Which she does, but Sam gets all sentimental because he's Sam. Caroline preps for the BFF brunch. Bonnie calls in and they have a little time to catch up. Caroline and Elena spill about their recent romantic adventures and girl times were had by all. Alexander ties up loose ends with the hunter. Mickey is very unhappy about his given lot in life. Klaus arrives to give him his compelled instructions and Mickey tries to break out by using Katherine as leverage but Stefan smacks the baby vamp back down. Buffy debriefs Stefan on the new gossip she learned as they enjoy their last day in Mystic Falls. Once Damon comes back from the Grille, he and Stefan say their goodbyes, and Stefan and Buffy return to Europe. Castiel does not know how to pack for a trip to Europe. Dean helps him reprioritize for Jack and asks if he can stay in Mystic Falls for a while. Then he checks in with his brother and reveals that he and Elena are making an attempt at a relationship. Elena check in on an old friend. She and Tyler catch up on everything that's happening and she agrees to arrange a meeting with Scott McCall. Hayley finds herself with a very familiar seatmate on the plane back to New Orleans. They have a discussion about family, both blood and found, and what Derek might expect in New Orleans. Cora sneaks back into the Salvatore School after getting back from the airport. She and Stiles talk about him being here and what he might have to do in learning to become a vampire. Eventually, they settle on watching a movie and Cora falls asleep a half-hour in.
INTERLUDE
Caroline struggles with her need for labels. So she tracks down Ryan to see if he's interested in DTF. Then they make plans for a cute county fair date while Cora and Scott babysit Stiles. Lindsay tries to find out what actually happened over graduation weekend. He fills her in on the latest comings and goings regarding the hunters from Mystic Falls, and the new pack in town. He also reveals that he's interested in a recently arrived banshee. They finish up with the new witches on their radar, and Lindsay leaves him to go flirt with said redhead. Elena & Jo head to Ezra's to confront him about his presence in Elena's life. There's a long debate about what Elena is willing to do to keep herself safe, and the deal she wants to make to protect her nieces. David pulls the ace up his sleeve of Bonnie Bennett and they come to a tentative agreement. After the women leave, David checks in with his husband and tries to keep things positive while talking him into a weekend away. Jo also returns home to her husband, filling him in on the details and making plans for their own break from reality. Elena heads back to check in with Dean, and see what they're next moves should be. They have Sam reach out to Bonnie and see what kind of research they can dig up on the Colony. Eventually, it's revealed that Bela is still in the picture and Dean Promptly freaks out a little, and Elena and Sam manage to talk him down. In the meantime, Sam keeps talking to Bonnie, who eventually reaches out to Bela to see if she can get some more details. Bela, in the interest of getting the first wall of anger out of the way, calls Dean to see where she stands. It goes poorly. But hey, at least it's out of the way, for now. But she agrees to help protect Bonnie and see what she can do for the twins. Coop is ready to make a move. He reaches out to William and gets a breakfast meeting with him in Prague. There, he pitches the idea of being an inside man for the Argents, but he wants to talk to Allison first. William arranges the call, and they actually do have a breakfast date where they talk about real things. After which, he has his informant interview with Allison which he passes with flying colors. Surely nothing will go wrong. Malia picks Derek up at the airport. She takes him directly to Freya, while giving him a pep talk on the way that Freya might not be strictly on the up-and-up and they should be prepared for there to be a price for her help. Derek agrees to keep that in mind, and they meet Davina and Freya at the Abattoir. The two witches reverse the ritual, returning Derek to his full wolfiness. Once they're done, he checks in with his sister and Malia takes him out to the bayou. There they have some quality time with the New Orleans pack, and Derek gets to know Hayley better. Elena is involved in a very delicate operation. As Dean tries to distract her from the pancakes she's making, she gently diverts him to the coffee so that they will remain edible. They make plans to spend her last night before going back to work out at the Grille. Things are going well, at first, but Dean decides to stay for one last drink and winds up getting a little too drunk. Elena is concerned but they go to bed and say they'll talk about it in the morning. In the morning, Dean tells her about Lisa and Ben, and how he's tried to cleave too close to normal before and he didn't fit. Elena agrees to work with him to find a way that fits for both of their lives as they move forward. Jed and Ben head out on a post-graduation/pre-college road trip.
PRAGUE: A TIPPING POINT
ACT I: A EUROPEAN ADVENTURE
Bonnie meets her niece, Bela and a couple Mikaelsons for lunch. She shares some gossip with Josie and finds out that Caroline is planning a state fair date with Ryan, which immediately incites some bestie texting. Bela arrives with Elijah and makes things slightly awkward with Hope, but not so much that they can't have a nice dinner. Bela even extends an olive branch to get them some private museum tours while they're in Prague. Meanwhile, Bonnie and Caroline text gossip about upcoming dates, Mikaelson drama, and there is promises of pictures from the Prague adventures. Lizzie goes exploring Prague on her own. While wandering, she bumps into a charming English witch who steals her phone. As they continue talking, however, Danny manages to make himself look very sketchy given they aren't both on the same page on what they know, and in the end part ways with Lizzie giving him a side eye that he fully deserves. Jack checks in with his dad. Jack shares his trip to the Lennon Wall while Cas possibly shares way too much about what Dean and Sam are up to in Mystic Falls. Hope & Josie have a romantic library date. After investigating the old books, they have a nice dinner on the water where they talk about their future and the events they left behind. Josie calls dibs on planning the next date. Isaac receives a surprise visitor and rats him out to Bonnie. Turns out Danny is looking to join the revolution, and decided to do that without telling Bonnie, but Isaac is a narc and isn't dumb enough to let a teenager do something that dumb. Bonnie attempts to talk him down, agreeing to come up with a plan to avenge his family, and Danny heads out to the car. ACT II: DANGER SETS IN
Bonnie & Isaac get grabbed by some bad guys. Danny bum rushes his way all over Prague, trying to get some help. First, he makes contact with Faith, who directs him to Mia and William. He and William craft a plan to find Josie and Hope, who Bonnie met with earlier. After casting a locator spell to find them, Danny crashes their date in Old Prague, where he fills them in on what happened and convinces them he's a safe person. Josie checks in with Stefan and Buffy, who confirm his story. When they arrive at the hotel, someone is snooping around their hotel room, and in questioning them, they reveal they're looking for Danny. After dispatching of the hunters in their own way, William gets the Mystic Falls kids fresh rooms. Bonnie & Isaac wake up. They find themselves in an old historical castle somewhere near water, and Bonnie has no magic. While Isaac discovers a potential way out, it happens to be a very tight, very enclosed space, and he's not fond of the idea. Still, he gives it a shot because he's not going to let Bonnie go alone and nearly loses his werewolf shit. When Bonnie is yanked out of the tunnel behind him, he loses it even further and snaps on the guy guarding them. Bonnie manages to calm him down, and he's able to hold it together enough to navigate them back to the hunter in question, and intimidates him into walking them out of there. They take his phone, steal his car and use the phone to call William and let him know they're alive. He connects them to Danny and Hope, who have teamed up, and reveal that Bonnie was the true target. Isaac and Bonnie leave to send the hunters on a wild goose chase while the rest figure out what to do next. Josie checks in on her sister. After encouraging her to take a chance with Danny, Lizzie heads over to have a bit of a heart to heart which leads to them being prompted to take action. Danny asks William to find the hunters they mindwiped. Then, they call Jo to see if they can find out more information about the Solstice. Jo is somewhat helpful, but her bullshit detector starts tingling after she hangs up. They agree to go to sleep and work with William's information in the morning, being the stubborn teenager that he is, Danny winds up sleeping in a chair. Coop responds to William's text. Hearing about Isaac's situation, he goes to try and infiltrate the hunter cell and see if he can get more information. He's so persuasive that he manages to get tasked with tracking down the werewolf and the witch. He checks in with William, and agrees to stay right on Isaac's coat tails until they've bought enough time to figure out what the hunters want. Bonnie & Isaac run into some car trouble. After walking for a stretch, they come across a diner where they can get something to eat. Fortunately, Isaac may have lost his phone, but he didn't lose his wallet. He apologizes, again, for losing control the way he did, and Bonnie tells him there's nothing to worry about. They grow a smidge closer. After that, Isaac very sexily hotwires a motorcycle and they take off in search of a phone. Coop catches up on Bonnie and Isaac's tail. While in the process, he and William touch base on not just the mission at hand, but their will-they-or-won't-they thing they have going on. They have good banter though. Cooper finds Isaac and Bonnie, and they beat him up a bit to help sell the story to the hunters, before taking his truck. Jo calls in a favor with a responsible adult. Given that she can't get a hold of Bonnie, she reaches out to Elijah in hopes that he can keep an eye on the far away teens. Hope isn't thrilled to see them, but Josie rightly points out that they are in the possession of a dark object, and it might help if they got in touch with someone who Knows Things. Bela heads off with Josie and Hope to examine the box, while Elijah stays with Danny and Lizzie to potentially interrogate some hunters. Bela examines the box and reaches out to David when he doesn't quite recognize it. David, alarmed when he recognizes it immediately, flies to Bela's side to try and figure out what he can about how the hunters got it. While Josie and David go down to get coffee, Hope and Bela get on the same page about their relationship and hopefully mend some bridges. When David returns, they interrogate him about his involvement in things, and his answers are typically David. But eventually, Bonnie and Isaac do return and they work on getting Bonnie her magic back. They succeed, but in the process Josie accidentally absorbs one of the magic strands and seems to have her own magic. David takes the box to see if he can find out where it came from. Danny, Lizzie & Elijah eventually venture up to interrogate some hunters and they find out that they're in the process of collecting witches. The hunters don't really know much, but after a messy fight and some assistance from Bela, they compel away their presence there and get one of the hunter's phones. And, after everything is settled, Elijah gives Jo a status update to confirm that everything is okay. ACT III: RESCUE
William gives them a rundown of what's to come next. After assessing the situation, they come up with a plan. Locate the bomb so they can disarm it, warn the witches so that they can defend themselves, and get in touch with Coop. Isaac & Bonnie go and check in with the local witches. After a brief conversation with Bruno and Sonja, they convince them to protect their people but also help with dealing with the hunters. As Bonnie and Isaac go to be distractions in the square, they get busted. As they are escorted out of view, they run into Cooper and things escalate quickly. When the hunters receive word of the spell on the tower, they start panicking and Isaac gets shot twice. Bonnie plays the hunters against each other for the moment, giving her and Isaac time to escape and hopefully maintaining Cooper's cover. Mia & Hope investigate the clock. Unable to find much on the ground due to their short statures, they move to the roof to try and get a better look. As they do, they attract the attention of the hunters who were keeping watch on the clock and combat ensues! They beat up the hunters, then head down and try to get into the tower, stumbling directly into the labyrinth spell. After getting frustrated with their lack of progress, Mia blows them down into the sewers, free of the spell's influence. Sadly, there is no bomb in the sewers, so they have to head back into the clock. As the spell breaks, they emerge into the lobby area to find a bunch of dead hunters and the twins. Hope is admonished when she gets prickly with the Prague witches, and is told to leave. The twins & Danny check in with the Saltzmans for information on the ritual. Mom comes in clutch with some helpful information and after some paternal posturing from Ric, they headed to the clock. Playing tourist, they get inside and they find themselves caught in the labyrinth spell. The twins try to siphon it, but the spell attempts to siphon their magic in return. Panicking on behalf of his new friends, Danny pulls them out of the siphon trap and dispels the labyrinth spell. They are able to see where they are, and the hunters enter a tense standoff with the local witches. Danny heads off to try and cast the leadership spell, and he finds Sierra, who loses control of the spell and promptly collapses. Danny manages to rouse her, and escorts her out of the tower. They find the twins, and eventually part ways with Sierra as they leave to deal with the police. Coop finally manages to get free and make a call to William. They work out a plan to mark the hunters, and Coop tries to see what information he can dig up about the case. He persuades one of the higher ups to let him in on things, and heads out to the main event. AFTERMATH
Isaac calls to check in with the boss. He gets Allison up to date on the comings and goings of Prague, and finds out that he's going to wind up coming home to Mystic Falls. After getting that good news, he asks Bonnie to come by his room for dinner, where they chat about what they're doing next, and tentatively explore this growing thing happening between them. Bonnie kisses him, and they enjoy the moment together, all the while forgetting to order dinner at all. David pops in to visit Harvey. After persuading him to have lunch out of the office, he shows him the device used to take Bonnie's magic and they talk through where it might have come from. As they lay out the events involved, it becomes clear that there's a witch agenda working alongside the hunters, and they may need more information. David puts Harvey on retainer and tasks him with visiting New Orleans to speak with Freya Mikaelson. He brings dessert back to Donna and fills her in on the details. As a result, Donna reaches out to Marcel to arrange some back up some Harvey doesn't have to go alone. Coop arranges a clandestine meeting with William. As they meet out under the stars, they discuss next steps. William asks him to come in from the cold, but Coop says no. Instead, he offers to take an ear wig so they can more readily communicate with each other. Once that's settled, they agree to try this long-distance for now thing, until this is settled once and for all. Bela tests the waters on where Elijah will like to travel next. They agree that it might be time to return to New Orleans for a spell and see his family. This will be fine and not upset Klaus at all. In the process of having dinner, Bela gets a text about eight dead hunters who woke up in transition in the morgue. They go to help her friend Rene, and in walking the newly dead through things, a majority of them elect to stay dead and not complete the transition. However, two of the younger hunters decide to take the plunge and become vampires. Elijah and Bela set them up with their Prague support system and have them house sit their Prague home while they return to the states. Josie tests the limits of her new magic. She and Hope discuss what it feels like to have real magic, the failings and successes of their time in Prague, and Josie encourages Hope to make friends with Mia, thinking that they come from similar places and might be able to understand each other. Hope texts Mia, inviting her out for a drink, and Mia agrees. They head out to the Prague home of Verdant, and use Mia's clout to get into a VIP room where they talk about college, their complicated parents and generally get to know each other better. In the meantime, Josie touches base with Lizzie, trying to see where her sister's head is at, and encourages her to try and see how Danny feels before they get separate again. Lizzie goes to have her rom-com moment, and she and Danny talk about what they're going to do next. And since Bonnie is off being busy with Isaac, they decide to officially take this to summer fling territory and spend a little time getting to know each other better.
INTERLUDE
Lydia & Damon have a cute carnival date. First, they make use of the bumper cars and get out some good old fashioned harmless aggression. Then, they opt for dinner where they compare points against their respective supernatural small towns. Lydia, displeased with her food, gets up to go address it and never returns. Cora & Scott help Stiles manage his senses in a more wide open setting. Stiles did not do well at first. Things were touch and go, but Stiles manages to regain control and they tentatively move forward to enjoy the carnival. They opt for food first. Stiles and Cora have a talk about their own supernatural complications that lead to an almost admittance of how they actually feel about each other. They eat, and when the awkwardness clears, Stiles takes the opportunity to head to the bathroom. He's lured out into the woods to find a still bleeding dead body and is unable to resist chowing down. While they're eating, Scott steps away to take a phone call from Davina. She asks him on a really cute beignet date, and they're just generally adorable. When he returns, Cora gently teases him about Davina while they wait for Stiles to come back. Then Damon interrupts to be Damon, since Lydia is elsewhere, and then they hear Lydia scream. The wolves leap into action, bringing Damon along with them. Lydia attempts to clean Stiles up, but believes him when he says that he didn't do it. They do their best to try and investigate, and Damon calls in Lindsay to report the dead body like a good citizen. After determining that it's probably a supernatural, Lindsay delegates, sending the two parties off to investigate. Damon & Lydia head off to talk to the locals, and they find a vampire traveling with the carnival who provides some information on a pair of lamprey twins who are traveling with them and a bit weird. They relay the information back to Lindsay, and Lydia sends Damon to help when they hear Cora howl that the group is in trouble. Dean also hears the howl, after he and Sam tracked down the crime scene and bug Lindsay a bit. Scott, Cora & Stiles manage to find the lampreys, and get into a pretty dicey fight. The lampreys get the upper hand and had the three of them on the ropes when Damon showed up and took out the sister. They interrogate the remaining twin, trying to figure out why he did it, but he stone walls them. They pass it off to Lindsay and return to their evening. Lydia wanders the midway with Damon. She tests the waters to see if incidents like tonight are common ground for Damon's dates or other big events in Mystic Falls. He persuades her to come back to his place to end their date with a bang, and she agrees. Caroline checks in with her vampire mentee. Stiles is on a bit shakier ground than he lets on, and when he brings up his possible addictive tendencies, Caroline reveals that it's possible he might be a budding ripper. She reassures him that he's fine to stay with his friends, and sends him inside for the night, but Stiles still isn't feeling one hundred percent. He has a talk with Cora after, revealing how unsteady he's feeling and asks her to help monitor his blood intake. He then asks her to stay the night with him, but when Cora wakes up in the morning, Stiles is gone. Isaac wanders down to feed his bottomless pit of a stomach. Scott is making tacos, but clearly has things on his mind. Isaac waits for him to come clean, and Scott admits to having some reservations about how his reputation is perceived. Isaac reassures him that it has to do more with how they see the world than specifically how they see Scott, and that the people who know him know what he's done for him. Scott appreciates the reassurance, and shares that he's going to have a very cute date with Davina and beignets very soon. Sam & Dean enjoy some brother time. After eating some terrible food, and getting into some brotherly shenanigans, they sit down to have a talk about Jack and what he might want to do for his future. Halfway through, however, Sam notices Scott, Cora and Damon leaving the pavilion, so the brothers get up to follow. Mia comes across a surprise visitor in Mystic Falls. Oliver and Laurel have popped in from Star City, and are looking to check up on their wayward children. Things are awkward at first but they catch up on all the things that have happened while they've been away, and Mia contemplates what her next steps are for friends back home. Elena calls Ezra to ask for a consult. It's awkward at first, but she offers an olive branch in the form of coffee to get to know each other better, for real this time. Ezra recounts his history with David and how he got involved in the Colony, and Elena is sympathetic, but she says she still needs time. After that she goes home to Bonnie to see what she can confirm based on what Bonnie knows about David, but nothing is clear. They agree to keep working on it together and enjoy some quality bestie time. Hayley pays Derek a visit at the Bayou. In the interest of getting to know each other better, they have a few talks about werewolf 101 for their different types of werewolves. Hayley convinces Derek to go with her for a run, and they scamper through the bayou in the moonlight, before taking the opportunity for a different kind of romp.
NEW ORLEANS: THE LAST STAND
ACT I: OPENING MOVES
Cami welcomes Elijah and Bela back to the quarter. After some standard Mikaelson posturing, they retire to the parlor for drinks and more Mikaelson posturing. Bela takes a call from William, who is panicking that something might be happening to Cooper. As Bela is trying to get information from William, an explosion happnes in the Quarter. William and Bela manage to figure out that it's Rousseau's from the news reports. Cami also notices that Hayley's window is broken. Klaus tries to call Hayley, and instead gets Tamara Monroe, who confirms that she is behind it all, and she intends to rid this city of the supernatural once and for all. Klaus is out for blood and delegates to Aiden, calling to let him know that his husband and Davina were also taken. And with that, they start on the war path. Davina gets help from Josh to prepare for her date. After picking out the perfect outfit and gushing a bit about how great her date is, there's a knock on the door. Davina sends Josh to answer it so she can finish getting dressed. Josh gets a bad feeling off the visitors, and zooms Davina off to the balcony as they break in. However, the hunters were prepared with snipers on a roof nearby, and as Josh jumps them off the balcony to try and escape, he's hit with a vervain dart, and Davina loses touch with her magic. They hit the ground hard, then are collected by the hunters and taken to an undisclosed location. Hayley is very distracted by her time with Derek. He tries to persuade her to stay in bed for a little while longer, but she resists, as they get dressed to rejoin the rest of the world. While making promises for later that she fully intended to keep, but their apartment is attacked by very well prepared hunters. With the upper hand, they manage to snap Hayley's neck to subdue her. The rest of the team uses electricity to handle Derek, and they pack them up to take them away. Aiden picks up Harvey from the airport. With a side of banter, he drives him to Rousseau's, where his lunch date is waiting. As he starts asking her questions about the magical artifact David recover, Scott appears, saying that Davina never showed up for her date. Freya finds that very concerning, and starts to notice the very large collection of hunters in the bar. It's at that moment that the hunters make their move, blocking off the exits and revealing their bomb vests. While the inhabitants of the bar try and fight back, they're not fast enough to stop the explosion, but Freya is quick enough to contain the blast so that it doesn't hurt anyone outside. Once done, she collapses into a magical mini-coma. Scott and Aiden put two and two together about their missing dates, and leave Malia with Freya and Harvey while they go off to check out Davina's apartment. Malia identifies herself as Peter Hale's daughter and Harvey realizes he's very much not in Kansas anymore. Elijah and Cami arrive to check on things, and Freya revives for a touching reunion with their brother. They make plans for how to tackle the situation and recover their missing people, while Harvey and Cami will use Harvey's legal skills to investigate Monroe's outfit. After Elijah informs Malia that Derek was also taken, and she heads off to inform the Beacon Hills group chat. They debate whether someone should come to New Orleans, and Allison agrees to go, wanting to put an end to Monroe once and for all. She and Isaac visit David and ask for his help in getting there quickly, and he agrees, in exchange for a favor, to be determined later. Coop sees a familiar face at the compound. Mickey, knowing what Monroe has asked him to do, convinces Cooper to go for a drive with him. Cooper, sensing something is up, puts in his earpiece so that William is listening in. They drive out to the river and Mickey confronts him about working against Monroe. After being distracted by the blast at Rousseau's, Coop tries to get the gun away from him, but it ends with them both in the river, shorting out Cooper's earwig. They manage to get enough distance from each other that Mickey is able to resist his compulsion and make that much clear to Cooper. They're in the process of figuring out what to do when Bela shows up and starts concocting a plan. After getting Klaus here to get around Mickey's compulsion, they make a plan to stage Cooper's death in a way to prove his value to Monroe, and hopefully get Cooper's father on their side as well. After convincing Cooper to agree, they begin their plotting. ACT II: STIRRING THE POT
Monroe's captives begin to rouse. As they come to they find themselves restricted in varying ways, and no current way out. Through a hunter watching the security cameras, they find out about the explosion at Rousseau's, and the attacks happening on their people. Monroe comes in to gloat, and in the meantime, they find out that the bayou has been taken and Allison may be dead, but the witches managed to fend off the attack on them. Monroe, aggravated that they weren't successful in the cemetery takes Davina in addition to Hawthorne, and leaves the remaining captives to plot their escape. Cami & Harvey investigate at city hall. After talking their way into Hawthorne's office, she and Harvey try to break into the computer, but they come up empty in terms of figuring out his password. Calling William for assistance, she heads downstairs to compel her way onto Deb's computer. Once in, William and Harvey's expertise as well as Cami's local knowledge allows them to drum up three potential targets where they might have their captured friends. Knowing that they need to cover more ground, Cami reaches out to Kol for help, and he agrees to come when he hears Davina's in trouble. Shortly after, a new witch appears on the scene - Kieran is here to repay a favor to David. As they're getting to know each other, Deb screams from the church and they go to investigate. There, they find Terry Hawthorne with his throat slit and twenty pieces of silver hanging around his neck. Freya & Elijah wait for Scott and Aiden to return in the cemetery. They catch up a bit while they wait, and when the werewolves arrive, they start the locator spell. While the spell is in progress, hunters arrive and swarm the cemetery. Elijah, Scott and some of the spare witches manage to hold off the hunters enough that Freya is able to crack their anti-magic wards and get the answers they need. Once the hunters retreat, they realize that a similar attack was likely happening at the bayou. When their calls go unanswered, Freya reaches out to Klaus to have him investigate. Malia & Allison arrive to check on the bayou. They check in with Lisina and build a strategy, but before they can get too settled, hunters appear. Allison tries to reason with them, perhaps win them to their side, but in the end, they are determined to stand against her. One of the hunters shoots Allison, point blank, and the bayou erupts into chaos. ACT III: RESOLUTION
Malia does her best to keep Allison alive. Klaus arrives after being sent by Freya and strikes a bargain with Malia to give Allison his blood. After that, she catches him up on the events that's transpired while waiting for Allison to wake up. When Allison does wake up, they convince her to lay low for a little while, and let Monroe to continue to think she's dead. They head back to the Abattoir for now. The Queens arrive in New Orleans. They are both shocked to find Cooper left dead near a fountain. While being questioned by a nosy cop, Bela arrives and assures him that Cooper isn't dead-dead, just temporarily dead. They all go to the morgue to pick up his body where Bela deactivates the dark object and Cooper comes back to life. Mickey returns to Monroe and proves his worth with the faked death of Cooper. Monroe is pleased, but Cooper's father is not. As a reward for his efforts, Monroe leaves Davina in Mickey's hands and asks for him to find somewhere to burn her at the stake. After she leaves, Sullivan confronts Mickey and learns that Cooper isn't for-real dead, and tests his loyalties with Monroe. Sullivan seems to play along, and they decide to go meet up with Cooper and the Queens and bring Davina with them. There's a father-son reunion, as well as a meet the parents moment, and they try to figure out where to go next. Davina heads back to the Abattoir with Cooper and William, and Mickey, Mia, Bela and Sullivan head to the cemetery to sync with Freya. Kol returns to New Orleans. He spends some time while they wait catching up with his sister, before Klaus arrives and they are able to make their plans. Scott takes Sullivan, Elijah, Cami and Harvey to head towards the reinforcements to see if they can persuade them to switch sides. Kol, Freya, Mickey, Mia and Aiden elect to go after the hostages. Klaus and Bela team up to go deal with the remains of the bomb making operation. Bela has some news about Davina. Klaus also discloses that Allison and Malia aren't dead either, but they're playing it that way so Monroe doesn't find out. They head to the bomb factory where they take on the remaining hunters there, working through them easily. They discover a full stash of magical items, some of which created by a woman named "Maura," as well as the image of a mysterious witch. After calling in Davina for help, William brings the witch over and they go through the items. Davina confirms that there was a witch called Maura being held with them, but she's not the woman shown in the picture, leaving a few more mysteries on the table. Malia gets a surprise visitor at the Abattoir. Davina appears with Coop and William, also hiding out until they're ready to reveal that they're no longer in danger. As they discuss the possibilities, and where they can go from here, William picks up signs of Monroe being on the move and Bela calls for Davina to identify some dark objects. They split up, and Coop, Malia and Allison go to confront Monroe. After pushing Allison to make the first move, Coop and Malia dispose of her back up and leave the fight to Allison and Monroe. After a fairly even match, Allison gets the upper hand, and stabs Monroe in the chest. After an ominous comment about how she'll have the last laugh, she dies. Cooper and Malia gather the bodies, while Allison lets everyone know she's alive, including Lydia. Scott heads out to try and turn the reinforcements. Before they go in, Kieran does some protective magic, just to be on the safe side, and Scott, Kieran, Sullivan Sr. and Harvey go to talk to the hunters. It takes some persuading, but Scott manages to get them to agree to leave town. In the aftermath, Scott reaches out to Lydia sharing the news about Allison and Malia. Crushed, Lydia starts spreading the news, including Stiles who has fled back to the FBI. She and Stiles have a talk about his recent decisions, but in the end, no ground was gained. In the meantime, Harvey picks Kieran's brain about their mysterious magical artifact and poses some reasoning of how it might have wound up in the hunters' hands. She doesn't get to play with the toy, but she does offer the opportunity for him to follow up if needed. Hayley and the rest of the hostages try to make a move. Hayley manages to shift into her wolf form and kills one of the hunters, gathering the keys and tossing them to "Maura," hoping that she will pull her weight and save the rest of the group. Maura does at least toss Derek the keys haphazardly, but once that's done, she's gone. Hayley is annoyed. Derek frees himself, and then Josh as more hunters charge into the room. They take out the hunters before venturing into the next room where Josh finds a laptop containing a database on a lot of the known supernaturals. Before they can get too far into the database, another group of hunters burst in. They dispatch them as well, before heading into the next room when they meet up with their rescuers. Mia and the gang arrive to try and save the hostages. After clearing the front, and fighting their way through the first few rooms, they are joined by the hostages they were intending to rescue, who meet them in the middle. After finishing off the last of the hunters, they're surprised to find Davina not present, and Mia reveals that she's accounted for elsewhere. After that, they burn the warehouse down to cover the bodies and head back home to recover.
EPILOGUE
Coop arrives to help clean up the bodies. After depositing Monroe and her lackeys on the funeral pyre, Dean introduces himself and Coop proceeds to be a smartass and a disaster at the same time. They somehow manage not to turn everything into a pissing contest, despite the rough beginning. They burn the bodies, and Coop excuses himself to head back to William, he and Mickey touch base. Coop reiterates that things between them are fine, and after a solid check in, he drives off to the hotel. Mickey returns to the grumpy old men, and the three of them head off for a night of drinking and war stories. Mia returns to touch base with her brother. William suggests they return to Star City, and when she gets cagey about it, William nudges her into coming clean about the fact that she can remember the crisis, as well as a timeline where her former fiance was a Deathstroke who killed Zoe. William, bowled over by the fact that she's been hiding this so long, encourages her to come home anyway. He also makes the same offer to Cooper when he returns from the hunter funeral. Cooper agrees, and Team Arrow is heading back to Star City. Davina goes to make sure Josh is okay. They briefly look each other over and cover anything they might have missed in the interim, before Josh heads off to the bayou with his husband and Davina heads to the cemetery. Kol finds her there, and they have a brief bittersweet reunion where they talk around each other and about magical objects. As Kol takes his leave, Scott appears and they make up for their missed date, ending the evening with a night in Davina's apartment and some fresh made breakfast. Lydia arrives in New Orleans and tracks down Allison. After a warm best friend reunion, Lydia goes to check on Scott, leaving Allison alone with Sam. They talk about Allison's feelings regarding Monroe, and moving forward while living with it. While making plans for a nap date for later, they grab Lydia and head to the bayou to help out. Cora heads to the bayou to check on her brother. She and Derek touch base on where they're at and what comes next and Cora reveals that if Derek is staying in New Orleans, she probably will too. Derek seems surprised, given her investment in Mystic Falls, but Cora doesn't want to talk about it. Josh manages to slip under those defenses later, and the two of them have a small heart to heart about how to best to help someone transitioning into a vampire, and they both agree that giving Stiles his space is the best call to make. Kieran is found squatting at the Abattoir. She gets questioned relentlessly about why she's there and allows them to believe that she's there to see Freya, while she texts her actual friend on the side. When Freya arrives and blows her cover, Kol steps in to reveal that she's here to see him, and makes things awkward. After a brief check in with each other, they head off to get some rest. Jaqueline scolds her partner for not being more careful. Given the way plans have gone wrong, they need to plan their next steps. They decide to pull the trigger on Monroe's dead man's switch, and release the information on the supernaturals out into the world, leaving them scrambling.
PART II: THE COLONY
DOXXED
ACT I: FIGHT OR FLIGHT
Elena has a surprise patient. Katherine needed patching up after a hunt and requested her to do the patching. After she finished stitching her up, she got a surprise call from Stiles revealing that they're on some kind of hit list and they need to get moving before the hunters find them. Opting to work together, she and Katherine make their way out of the hospital and steal a car in order to escape. Once they're a good distance away, she calls Dean to try and figure out the next best move, and he suggests they come to the bunker to lay low. After that's established, Katherine has her call Damian so they can touch base there as well, and Damian agrees to follow. After getting off the phone with Elena, Dean reaches out to Mary to warn her about incoming visitors and spills the beans that it's both Sam and Dean's girlfriends coming. Sam calls him out on it, and he and Allison have a text conversation where they confirm that they're actually in a relationship. Jaqueline aggressively calls Ezra. When he finally answers, she reveals that she's under attack and demands that David open a door to pull her to safety. He manages to do so, and Jaqueline conveys that hunters are targeting witches and supernaturals everywhere and she happened to be one of them. She tries to push them to leave quickly, but before they can make that exit, hunters find the Adin-Gainors and cut off their access to magic. David and Jaqueline team up to distract him, while Ezra slips out the window to try and break the seal. It takes a couple tries, but eventually he's successful while Colony royalty takes out the hunters. They agree that they need to leave, but Ezra talks them down to going to a Colony outpost in Baltimore, rather than returning to the Colony proper. David takes steps to protect them against Jaqueline, while Ezra checks in with Elena. Lindsay is trying to enjoy date night. She chats up Damon while she waits for her fiance and they suss out his feelings for Lydia, and how best to get over Elena. They're starting to make progress when a blond walks in and shoots Damon with a vervain dart. Lindsay leaps into action to defend her friend and in the process, Ringlet's partner sneaks in and makes off with Damon. Lindsay goes after him, and as they scuffle in the parking lot, Beck comes in for the save. They turn the tide of the fight, and when Damon emerges, he gets a call from Caroline that she and Bonnie too were attacked while they were on a double date. Lindsay and Beck take their prisoners off for interrogation while Damon heads off to help Caroline deal with some bodies. Audrey is struggling with mandatory therapy. Stiles is stuck in there with her, also suffering and not sure how much to say given his recent transformations and experiences, when he receives an alert about something happening on the internet - a hit list dropped, targeting various members of the supernatural community. After sharing the information in the group text, Stiles tries to brainstorm means to take down the list and Audrey and Sweets offer to help, seemingly not surprised that there are supernatural creatures in the world. Stiles rolls with it, and in their brainstorming he has the bright idea to call William. William diverts the road trip back to Star City to Central City instead, and Audrey volunteered to find a tech agent so William would have an extra set of hands. Once that was done, Stiles and Audrey agreed to revisit the supernatural of it all later, once everyone was safe. Isaac gets the group text while on a double date with Bonnie, Caroline and Ryan, and manages to warn them just before the hunters attack. The hunters have them on the ropes for a while, but eventually they get the upperhand, with Caroline killing two and Isaac knocking out the third. Caroline calls Damon to get some help with body disposal, while Bonnie touches base with Elena, who she learns is heading out of town. They begin to discuss their options for leaving - the goal being not being where they're supposed to be - and Bonnie calls Danny to see what he has in mind. Danny admits wanting to stick with Lizzie, and after some debate, they settle on heading to Kansas to meet Elena. Damon arrives to help them clean up, and hints maybe he'll be heading off to Scotland to visit his brother. New Orleans starts to scramble, beginning to head to their separate corners to go to ground, and Scott and Davina head to the Mikaelsons to warn them. Klaus immediately tries to contact his daughter, and gets Josie instead. Josie agrees to convey the message, and while she's waiting for Hope to returns hits up the Saltzman family group text. Ric tries to FaceTime his wife when she doesn't respond to the text, and when she declines, he takes off to try and find her. Arriving at the hospital parking lot, he manages to divert one of the hunters while Jo invisiques her way into the cars. After conferring with their daughters, Jo and Ric agree to take a cross country road trip to visit Jeremy. Josie and Lizzie do their best to find out if they're on the list, which they're not. When Hope emerges from the shower, she and Josie talk and agree that the four of them will just maintain normal behavior as though there's nothing wrong and head off to college. Hope touches base with her mother and Hayley confirms she's okay and that she'll try and be in touch when she can. The Mikaelsons agree to ride to Rebekah's aid, and Davina and Scott politely beg off, intending to do their own thing. While they're discussing this, Kieran's connective pendant with her brother breaks and she flies into a panic. She calls her brother's phone and gets an answer from someone she shouldn't recognize and makes plans to go to Baltimore. Kol agrees to accompany her and they pick up Scott and Davina on the way. Rebekah is throwing a dinner party. She and Doc invited Neal and Sara over and somewhere between a lovely dinner and drinks and desserts Donna calls and warns Doc that he and Rebekah are on a hit list for hunters, just as a pair of "gas company" employees knock on the door citing a gas leak. Elijah calls to warn Rebekah of the same, and eventually the hunters force their way in and a fight ensues. Neal and Sara come to their friends defense, but eventually Rebekah resorts to using her magic in order to neutralize one of the hunters, outing herself as a witch. Neal and Sara are very confused but before they can ponder it for too long, Donna shows up to offer her assistance. She takes care of the hunters, while Rebekah and Doc sit their friends down and explain that they used to be vampires. Still processing, they agree to go with the Mikaeslon-Holliday clan to one of the Mikaelson properties in order to ensure their safety and/or figure out if they need to be compelled. Donna is working late with Harvey. As the two of them pack up to head home, Donna hears the sound of the elevators moving, but there's no one else around. As they try to make a break for the stairs, they were attacked by two hunters looking for Donna. Donna kills one of them and Harvey subdues the other, and interrogates him about why they decided to come after his secretary. They reveal that there was an online hit list including the names and locations of prominent supernaturals. Donna, seeing that Doc and Rebekah are also on the list, steps away to call and warn them while Harvey continues the interrogation. After Doc hangs up, Donna comes back to get rid of the hunters while Harvey reaches out to David to see if they have a means of escape. Donna returns saying that she needs to go check on Doc and Rebekah, and she leaves Harvey in the office to start making plans. ACT II: SETTLING IN
Katherine and Elena arrive at the motel. After a brief encounter with the creepy front desk manager, they make their way up to their room to find out they have the wrong key. Katherine heads back down to the front desk to remedy the situation, and while she waits Elena meets a girl named Nadia who's having a bad day. After talking with her briefly, she finds out that she and her boyfriend Phil are here to meet her estranged sister Natalie, but Natalie seems to be MIA. Fearing the worst, Elena does some digging with some help from Stiles' FBI contacts and finds out that the Natalie in question is a hunter, and she may be staying at the motel. After sharing this information with Katherine, the older doppelganger agrees to help, and goes to try and find Natalie's room at the front desk. In the meantime, Elena goes to check in with Nadia again, who only seems to be getting worse. When Katherine returns, she leaves Nadia to her breakfast while the doppelgangers go to investigate Natalie. Fortunately, they don't find a dead body. Unfortunately, they do find a very peeved hunter. They do manage to convince Natalie they're not a threat and they read her in on the case. As far as she's aware, Nadia is not a sister, but Phil is definitely a monster, confirming Elena's bad vibes about the boyfriend. Agreeing to work together, they go to try and find Nadia, and an altercation ensues in the parking lot. Phil tried to get in their heads, but Elena and Katherine manage to break free, and Elena tries to get through to Nadia. Natalie eventually snaps out of it, and they manage to pin Phil down, but in the altercation, Nadia pushes away from Katherine, has a fatal fall, and dies. After taking care of Phil, they take care of the bodies and part ways with Natalie, continuing on their trip to the bunker. Damon sits at the airport, waiting to make his escape. Stefan finally returns his phone call, and finds out that Damon is looking for a place to lay low during these shenanigans, and is intending to come to Scotland. Stefan and Buffy debate the pros and cons before agreeing to have him come. When Stefan picks Damon up at the airport, they have a chat about Damon's place in his life and what he's struggling with. Stefan tries to reassure him that he can have what he wants, but Damon seems less than convinced. Regardless, they're glad to see each other. Allison and Lydia take some girl time. Over drinks they talk about the highs and lows of the last few weeks, including Lydia's failed attempt at dating with Damon and Allison's upcoming Meet the Parents moment with Mary Winchester. Once girls' night winds down and Allison is asleep, Lydia reaches out to Stiles, just to check in. They talk some about how things are going and where Stiles is at mentally, and Lydia promises to check in with her contacts to see if she can find their missing Hales who have, as per usual, lost their phones. Once they say their goodbyes with agreements to check in, Lydia goes to sleep to prepare for her long car ride tomorrow. Neal and Sara try to process their night. While they are still flabbergasted by vampires and other supernatural creatures being real, they're trying to process it all in good faith, but Sara is still struggling, too logical to really grasp it. She and Neal agree to stick together regardless, and Sara is determined to wrap her head around this eventually. In the morning, she and Doc have a longer, more detailed conversation about his life with the supernatural, and she slowly comes more to terms with it. They have a conversation about her and Neal's own growth in their relationship, and Sara is determined to do the same with the new information here. Doc does offer them the opportunity to have all of it compelled away, but they agree to stick it out for now, wanting to really see the world for what it is. Ezra, David and Jaqueline arrive in Baltimore. Upon arrival, they're met by Allura, who has a request for them from the higher ups all ready and raring to go. They're tasked with finding an old witch named Barnet who has a reputation for shadily getting people to share their life force with him. They're not thrilled with the assignment, but they take it if it means they get to go home. Jaqueline does some quick tech sleuthing, but doesn't come up with too many details beyond him frequenting a local diner in the area. They visit the diner and while Barnet is not attending, he does order delivery. They follow the delivery driver back to the hotel where Barnet is staying and Jaqueline goes in to do some recon. She finds the liminal space where Barnet is holing up and brings in David and Ezra to help her bring him in. They confront Barnet and while Jaqueline's attempt to override him by force doesn't go in her favor, David senses his conduit connection to another witch, and in a fit of anger, snaps it. Barnet begins to rapidly age, but David manages to stop it with his alchemy skills. They load him into the car, and when Jaqueline attempts to torture him again, he tries to take hold of the spell, but they manage to reassert control of the situation. They turn Barnet over to Allura, and head off to Colony headquarters. William reaches out to Uncle Barry. He tells Barry what they need in order to take down the list and Barry immediately opens both STAR Labs and his home to his wayward psuedo-nephew and everyone coming along with him. While they're at the rest stop, Mickey tries to grab a quick bite that Coop accidentally interrupts. Knowing that things are not great and needing to have a candid conversation with his friend without his father listening, he persuades William to stick it out in the car with his dad while he and Mickey travel together alone. While they're in the car, he and Mickey talk about his current feeding situation, and they make a plan to knock over a blood bank while they're in Central City so that he has plenty to eat while he and Sullivan Senior are under the same roof. When they arrive at STAR Labs, Barry greets them and has brought in some extra reinforcements - Zari Tomaz from the Legends. Zari and the Queens are happy to see each other, but before they head in, Coop pulls William aside to say that he needs to leave William with his father - again. He doesn't go into the details but promises to make it up to him before heading out. Coop & Mickey head out to the blood bank, with Coop playing the part of the distraction while Mickey gets in to steal the goods. Putting on the patented Sullivan charm, he distracts the guy at the front desk with a false story about getting lost on the way to Keystone City. He manages to keep things busy long enough for Mickey to get in and out, before he returns to his car and they head off to Jitters to keep their cover story intact. In the meantime, Zari, William and team dig into the origins of the list, and after taking it down, Zari was able to talk about some of the odd things she saw - like how the coded trigger for the list was set off one day, but someone prevented it from following through for a little while to narrow down the timing. In the process of their digging, they also managed to officially ID their witch from Prague, formerly Maura, actually Sierra Harper - and were able to figure out that she might have been Monroe's inside witch who pushed that boundary a little too far. They don't know much more about her than that, but she's staying on their radar. As they pack up to head back to the West-Allen home, William pulls aside both Zari and Barry to ask questions about Crisis and make sure that Mia's awareness is on their radar. But he also finds out that while Barry remembers, Oliver doesn't. Jeremy basks in his gallery success. He and Dawn have a quick chat about what to expect with the impending arrival of Ric and Jo, and Dawn reassured him that they can't be worse than Buffy. Which is likely true. A vampire wanders in to crash the party, and he and Dawn put their slayer/hunter hats on. After dispatching of their unwanted guest, they head home to find much less social things to do with their evening. Elijah takes some time with his sister. He and Rebekah chat through the changes in their lives, including Rebekah's son and her relationship with Doc as well as his bond with Bela. Elijah apologizes for the distance he's put between them and Rebekah forgives him, as he got there when it mattered. Then, they part ways as Rebekah goes to check on Klaus. They spend some time reminiscing about the times they've visited New York and the places they lived. Klaus also probes Rebekah further about why Doc versus Marcel, and comes to terms with their relationship, even if he reserves his right as an older brother to be grumpy about it. Rebekah allows it and agrees to take him on a tour of the city tomorrow to show him her favorite places. In the meantime, Elijah checks on Bela, who has retreated to their room for the evening. Elijah laments that he intended to return to his family and New Orleans to be close to Hope, and they seem to have scattered again, but Bela reminds him that he can still be in contact, even if he's not nearby. After checking on the status of some of their allies, they turn in for a night's sleep. Jackson thinks the Underground should cut their losses. While Alexander and some of the other members of the Underground try to advocate on Julian's behalf, but Jackson is not buying it. When Kieran and company appear, demanding to take over this rescue mission because clearly they're not interested in moving forward. Alexander insists that they at least take someone with them, and Kieran chooses Jackson. Jackson hates it already. Off they go to the casino, and when they get there, they split into two teams. Kieran & Jackson split off to try and find where the Baron is holding court that day and stumble over a meeting room where people are waiting to meet them, but the Baron is nowhere to be found. Faking a much more advanced version of her disease, she has Jackson "help" her into the room to wait. They eavesdrop a bit on the conversations while throwing out some pointed lines of their own. Eventually one of the higher ups gives up the ghost and admits that Barnet took off, no one knows where he is and he seems to have severed the conduit connection that he was using on her brother. As Kieran tries to push him for more information, Kol calls saying that they found Julian. He gives him a location in the parking lot and she and Jackson go out to meet with the rest of the team. In the meantime, Scott, Davina & Kol go to check out the casino floor where they spot the man who had been seen in pictures with Julian. Davina opts to engage, making her way over to sit next to him. After a tete a tete that manages to get some information out of H, Davina learns he's limited in what he can and can't say regarding the Baron. But they do manage to craft a clever ruse of Davina escorting H out to his car and driving him home. In the back of the van is Julian's body, catatonic but alive. Kol calls Kieran to fill her in, and when she and Jackson arrive, they decide to take Julian back to a hotel until they can figure out how to wake him, and take H along with them. ACT III: SWIRLING COMPLICATIONS
Mia and company arrive in Star City. She heads inside to greet her father, while Coop and Sullivan marvel at the size of the Queen Manor and gives William some polite ribbing about it. As they make their way inside, Coop is suitably intimidated by the fact that he's dating the Green Arrow's son, and Oliver can't help but notice. As Laurel arrives and invites everyone, including Mickey, inside, they decide to have a late lunch after the rest of the group cleans up from the road. Mia lingers a bit longer to talk to her father, seeming a bit more settled than the last time they saw each other. After they chat a bit about Mia's plans for while she's home, Mia goes to clean up and Oliver goes to find Laurel to discuss how to deal with the Coop of it all. William and Coop take some time to touch base after meeting William's father, as well as confirming that Mickey should be fine for the time being, and they have some fun before getting ready for lunch. Michael, knowing that Evelyn would want to know, updates his wife that he and Cooper are back in the States. Evelyn reveals that she's also in Star City, and Michael shares that Coop's become attached to William Queen. Wanting to speak to her son for herself, Evelyn calls Cooper, and they agree to meet for coffee after Cooper is done with lunch with the Queens. Unfortunately, Evelyn doesn't feel like waiting and she shows up at Queen Manor unannounced, making quite the splash. Things go well enough, until Coop announces that he's planning on taking a little bit of a break from hunting, and Evelyn doesn't take that as well as you would think. Mia gets saved by a text from Faith saying that she's free to hang, and she opts to save Mickey from remaining stuck at this lunch. Coop and William also take this opportunity to exit, leaving the parents alone. Laurel shows Evelyn to her room, and they talk about how people need to be intentional with their relationships, and Coop won't drift if Evelyn doesn't let him drift, and takes the time to be there for her son. Meanwhile, Oliver and Michael share a drink and talk about loss in the way that people who have been in the business for a long time can. Mary has dinner ready at the bunker. When Dean, Sam, Lydia and Allison arrive, Mary gets to meet one son's girlfriend and they have a brief chat about the insanity that is the Winchesters lives. Part way through dinner, Damian interrupts, arriving to wait for Katherine, and he and Dean have a slightly tense conversation about the nature of Damian's job. Eventually, Elena and Katherine do arrive, and they settle into the relative safety of the bunker until they are called upon. Kieran tries to unpack the day's events. It's been a lot and she's a bit of a firecracker, but she thanks Kol for coming and also thanks him for calling Freya, after learning she's on her way. Scott and Davina navigate their post-aborted date relationship status and have a chat about conduits and what they mean. When she wakes in the morning, she comments on how she's happy he's moving on, but he doesn't seem to take that well and they're saved by Freya's timely arrival. She examines Julian herself and determines that it is a chambre de chasse and his body and life force is fine, they just need to help free his mind. She convinced Davina to help with the casting of the spell, and as they go to send Kol and Kieran in, something goes wrong and Freya gets pulled in with them. Inside the chambre de chasse, structured to look like Julian's old neighborhood. Kieran leads the way to her brother and reads him the riot act for trying to save her but paying his own life in the process. They come to an agreement on how they'll handle it moving forward, and that releases the spell and sets them free. Meanwhile, back in the outside world, Davina is thrown into the wall and scrambles to try and figure out how to recover those trapped in the spell. H returns from his coffee run, and he suggests that they try transferring some of the magic into something. Davina attempts to do so with a plant but it doesn't take. H offers to use himself as a vessel, and Davina doesn't catch that he's being shady so she agrees. As the spell picks up, he starts to steal some of her magic which pisses her off, and she lashes back, taking back the magic he stole from her and removing the rest from him and into the plant. H warns them that there's something coming for all witches, but Davina doesn't seem bothered. When the chambre de chasse breaks, Freya asks Julian whether they should give the rapidly aging H mercy or suffering, and he instructs her to put the witch out of his misery, which she does. With that, they clean up and hit the road, wanting to get away from the body they're leaving behind. Scarlett runs into an old friend in Scotland. Damon is out for a drink with Stefan and Buffy, and Scarlett convinces the three of them to join her and Rhett while they wait for Melanie to arrive. Buffy is a little starstruck at the idea of meeting the Scarlett and Rhett and they sit down for a lovely conversation over drinks. When Damon steps away to get a refill, Melanie arrives and they get a little time to catch up to themselves. Buffy finishes getting the full Gone with the Wind introduction, and she and Stefan return to the castle, leaving the Southern Foursome to their catch-up time. Caroline is getting anxious about the weather. When things start to get really bad, she convinces Ryan to pull over and they stop at the first B&B they see that has vacancies. They manage to get a room from the rather eccentric owner and Bonnie and Issac take a room on the opposite side of the house from Ryan and Caroline. While getting ready to go to bed, the two of them notice that things are quite quiet around the B&B, which isn't usually the case for vampires in hotels. Assuming that there's likely some kind of sound proofing, they decide not to worry about it and get some sleep. In the meantime, Bonnie and Isaac share a little more of their pasts as they get ready for bed, while Isaac tries to make sense of their strange decorating scheme. But eventually they get some sleep, when Bonnie is awakened by the feeling of old, strange magic. While they get ready to go investigate, Caroline calls saying that Ryan had a weird run in with the owner of the B&B and that he smelled blood. Bonnie conveys the information about the ritual, and they agree to investigate their respective problems. Bonnie and Isaac head in the direction of the ritual and try to see if they can get any information out of the receptionist. She lays down some Go Away Whammy and force Bonnie and Isaac back towards the stairs, but they decide to sneak around and manage to find a door where the spell feels stronger. Caroline texts Bonnie that they're on the way. Ryan chooses to investigate the room that the B&B owner was emptying and Caroline comes with him for back up. Both of them are overwhelmed by the smell of blood, but no matter where the look, the scene seems to come back clean - until Caroline puts her hand down and it comes back covered in blood. Considerably freaked out, they decide they need to find Bonnie and Isaac and put a stop to whatever's happening. Reuniting with the other half of their party, they venture down into the basement and discover three witches, including the owner, casting a ritual involving some of the B&B guests. The jump in trying to stop the ritual and in some ways it goes very wrong - Caroline gets set on fire, Bonnie gets trapped behind a barrier, it's really not her night. They manage to get rid of the two lesser witches, and Bonnie calls Freya in order to help her stabilize her magic and be effective. After being pinned down, the owner tried to convince Bonnie that she was planning on recruiting Bonnie to try and take control with the upcoming Gauntlet. Danny puts in some manual labor. He's helping Lizzie move into her dorm room, and while flirting his way through said manual labor, he manages to impress by giving her a TARDIS closet. Lizzie is quite pleased and is willing to reward him for his efforts when Lizzie's roommate Alice arrives with aplomb. As they chat and get to know each other, they find out that Alice's dad is Rebekah Mikaelson's new husband and they might be more connected than they thought. David and Ezra's presence is requested at dinner. Ezra and David do not want to go, but they decide to take some time and enjoy themselves in the meantime. They don't know what dinner is about, but they already know they don't like it. Jaqueline catches Sierra up on how things went with the witch they were trying to obtain, and Sierra shares that she's making progress with the other end of their plans, completely unaware that it's about to get blown to high heaven. David and Ezra meet David's parents for dinner, and they dance around conversation for some time until the Melrouxs arrive and they reveal that given the state of the Knightsbridge coven, the elders have decided to hold the Gauntlet. David and Jaqueline are floored, and Jaqueline tries to warn Sierra of what's coming and asks her to stay hidden to by them time. David loses his shit and storms off with his husband, and Ezra pitches making an escape from the coven by transferring their souls into new bodies. David adamantly refuses, and reaches out to Bonnie to have a conversation about Danny. Rebekah receives an unexpected guest. Wynonna got a warning message from Doc and came to investigate, discovering their ransacked apartment. She then charges over to the new address she was given and finds Rebekah, who explained that they had a little indicident with some hunters but everyone was fine. After confirming that Henry was all in one piece and having some cute firefighter time, Rebekah offers to either put Wynonna up in a hotel or have her stay at the penthouse with her brothers. Wynonna chooses the wiser of the two options. While booking the hotel room, Rebekah texts Doc to let him know that his ex is in town and that they're putting her up in a hotel. ACT IV: THE GAUNTLET IS THROWN
The Queen kids take their friends to Verdant. Mickey meets Wes, one of Verdant's bartenders, who also happens to be a vampire. They bond over the unfortunate ways in which they were turned, as well as commiserate over the small world that vampirism actually is. They agree to meet up again later in the week. William shows Verdant off to Cooper, but Cooper isn't really a club person, so they decide to go for a walk instead. They start to discuss living in Star City, and William offers for Cooper to use his apartment while they're staying in town, so they don't have to make things weird with him staying with Oliver. Coop agrees, and he talks a bit about what his life was like before and how hunters tended to live. In the end, they decide to go back to William's place, so William can give him a tour. Mia meets up with Faith and her Uncle Tommy comes to say hello and check in on his wayward niece. Mia reassures him that she's fine, and she and Faith get to dancing, when Connor Hawke drops in. They talk about where Mia's been, and what she's going to do about JJ while Faith gets some drinks. When she returns with Mickey, they enjoy partying the rest of the night. Jeremy checks in with his sister on the way to the airport. Elena reassures him that she and everyone else are fine, and she reveals that she may or may not be in a relationship with a Winchester. They're figuring it out, and she will check back in once Ric and Jo are settled. In the meantime, Dawn is checking in with Buffy, getting the trials and tribulations of having both Salvatore brothers under one roof. Once Jeremy returns with their guests, they're surprised to find that Dawn and Buffy are sisters and that everything truly is connected. Bonnie arrives for the meeting with David. He quickly shares the bad news - the Colony is holding a death match and they're going after Danny's birthright. Bonnie is immediately concerned about her ward, wanting to know if he's in real danger, and David can't give her a straight answer on that. A lot of it is going to depend on what Danny wants to do. Thus, they go see Danny and Danny is dismayed to reveal that while they thought no one knew he was alive, it turns out one of the Colony heirs do because he was dumb enough to give Sierra his name. They ask him what he wants to do, and he asks them to give them a week to think about it. Agreeing, Bonnie returns to Isaac and David, admitting that she doesn't know what Danny will do and they need to give him time. David agrees and says he'll be in touch with any updates before taking them back to Kansas. In the meantime, Danny texts Lizzie to see if she's free to talk. After work, he comes over and spills the beans of David's visit, that there's a witch war coming and he needs to make a decision about what he wants to do with his family's power - if he's going to try and take it for himself or do something else. They decide whatever goes down, they'll figure it out together, and decide to go decompress at a college party. Max strategizes with his sister while they wait for the husbands to arrive. They discuss family politics and what they want to do when it comes to running the Gauntlet, and Jaqueline poses that they work together. One of them visibly on the board, the other working behind the scenes. David presses Jaqueline for answers regarding Sierra; she refuses to give them. David then presents his idea - running the Gauntlet by going after the Inner Circle, rather than each other. Max and Jaqueline say they'll consider it before Max is called away to deal with a dead body at the request of his mother. Jaqueline volunteers to go with him. In the car, she spills the beans about Sierra, that she was in on her plan to take the Knightsbridge power source. She shares all the details she has, which isn't much, but she agrees to keep him in the loop. When they arrive at the morgue, they discover that the dead body that's waiting for them is H, rapidly aged and dead under mysterious circumstances. Jaqueline is able to sense that a French Quarter witch is involved, but with no other evidence, they decide to go poke H's mentor, Hallewell. Doc checks in on his daughter. Alice answers the phone and they have a good but slightly awkward chat about how she's doing in school, and she suggests they have lunch later in the week. After that, her mother arrives for some mother-daughter time and after some light admonishment for taking advantage of Rebekah because Rebekah wants them to like her, she agrees that she should at least share her good fortune with Waverly. Later, Waverly returns from a trip to the Strand to enjoy the luxury, but reminds Wynonna that she also needs to give Alice room to grow too. Jackson returns to the Underground and checks in with Alexander. He updates him on everything that happens, and hints that there's a upcoming witch war. Alexander works through the ranks to see what the rest of the group knows, and Alys mentions something called a Gauntlet. Alexander goes to wake his father, and Abernathy makes an announcement that they need to be prepared for anything that may go down. As the meeting breaks up, Shipp and Annie slip away for a drink, and while they talk she mentions that Alexander ran into some Gemini witches while he was in Mystic Falls. They go to Alexander for more information and he reveals the existence of Jo and the twins. He offers to put them in touch, but Shipp isn't ready for that conversation. He and Annie retreat to drink while Alys gets called up to provide some support in New York. Kol submits himself to Freya's questions about Kieran. She only does some light prodding, but she volunteers to help him figure out a way to save Kieran or at least give her more time to solve her own problem. The Connors, Scott and Davina, continue their drive up the New Jersey Turnpike, in desperate need of a rest stop so they can trade off drivers and take a break. They make the rest of the trek to the Mikaelsons where Julian is exposed to the chaos that is the Mikaelson family. Rebekah takes some time to catch up with her late arriving brother, and he confides in her and solicits Rebekah's help as well. Cora lets everyone know she's alive in the group text. Others chime in with sharing their locations, so everyone knows everyone is safe. William offers to send the Hales indestructible phones. We'll see how long they last. Cora catches an aborted call from Stiles that summons the voicemails he left while her phone was in the swamp. She asks him what he wants from her, wanting to clear the air, and they have a good chat. She encourages him to call Caroline and promises to pick up the next time he calls. Josh cooks his husband a surprise breakfast. Aiden is pleased with their surprise and they have a nice banter about whether or not they missed Aiden's birthday. They chat about how they want to move forward with their life together until Josh brings up potentially adopting one of the younger werewolves who lost their family in the attacks. Aiden thinks it's a great idea, and they continue their morning of celebration before going to talk to their foster parent. Danny is working his working his shift at your local hipster witch shop. A girl comes in named Talia, a young witch who's new to town and looking to get some witch supplies. Danny charms her with his earnestness, and they make plans to see each other around, and Danny doesn't catch on that Talia is Sierra in disguise. Caroline hugs the wrong doppelganger when they finally arrive at the bunker. Awkwardly pulling back when she realizes it's Katherine, not Elena, she sends Katherine in to get Sam to invite them in, and the group catches the bunker group up on everything that went down at the evil B&B. Something she says triggers a realization in Mary about what she's read about the Gauntlet from Campbells past. The team sets in to start researching, and while debating their options, Stiles calls. Caroline steps away to talk to him, and they agree to make plans to meet in Mystic Falls since Caroline is going to be returning to the east coast to visit the Armory. Once done, the group reviews what they dug up, and Bonnie reveals some additional details that she gained from her conversation with David and Danny. They agree that they'll make an Armory trip to see what Tyler might have stored in the archives, and Isaac spills that Allison owes David a favor of Sam. Sam is okay with it, but he wants to make sure she's careful because these witches mean business. They also decide to loop in Rowena, who agrees to make a spontaneous visit to the bunker to meet all of Sam and Dean's new friends. Also, Bonnie reveals that something is up with her magic, ever since she got it back from the artifact, and while Sam doesn't find anything, he thinks Rowena will hopefully be able to help. In the meantime, after his call with Caroline, Stiles calls Cora back to give her an update. She's glad to see that he's reconnected with his vampire mentor, and tentatively extends an invitation for him to come see her in New Orleans that the plot will most likely interrupt. Michael runs into his wife in the gardens. It's slightly awkward, at first, but as they speak and talk about how things have been since they last saw each other, but eventually they catch up and talk about how things went wrong with Monroe, and how they feel about their son's current dating situation. They decide to go out and see what they can scoop up of Monroe's wayward hunters and if they can make something good out of all that mess. The next morning, she touches base with her son and leaves things on a better foot, and they go out to lunch for a second chance for a good impression on William. ACT V: PRESSURE BUILDING
Dolls catches Aalis up on the job at hand. Once she's all up to speed, they start to prepare to make their move when Doc walks into the club, startling Dolls. He tries to sneak around the man, but even Serena's spell isn't enough to distract him. Dolls takes him out to the alley to discuss the situation while Aalis makes her way downstairs. Dolls tells the story about how Jeremy got him out of Black Badge's care after his death and how he slowly recovered from his wounds. Once he was whole, he escaped into the Underground and has been helping them since. When it becomes obvious that Doc is after the same item, they decide to work together. Serena interrupts with a sign that Alys is in trouble. In the meantime, Aails ventures downstairs to try and find what they came for. She loses her invisibility at one point and gets caught by the bad guys who try to wrestle her into a chair as they decide what to do with her. Doc and Dolls arrive as her backup, and after subduing their opponents, Aalis disintegrates the items they came for and takes the trunk as a finder's fee. Dolls and Doc say their goodbyes, and on the way home Doc calls Waverly, reveals his news and they try to figure out how to tell Wynonna. Sam catches Rowena making a grand entrance. He introduces Rowena to Alice and Bonnie, and she gives her warnings about dealing with the Colony as David calls to call in his favor with Allison. He also asks the Winchesters for a favor of his own, in tracking down the original members of the Colony who are possessing the current Inner Circle, for the purpose of salting and burning the bodies. The Winchesters agree, and Sam accompanies Allison on paying off her favor to David. They head out to the Everglades and hop on a boat to travel through safely to the Colony storage facility in the middle of the swamp. On the way there, they are mostly safe, until they run into one of the vampires left there to rot by the Ivory Tower. Allison gets bitten in the process, and while they're able to prevent her from getting killed, it clearly rattles Sam. But they arrive at the tower, find what David's looking for, and sends them home with his thanks and a clean slate. Then he heads to the dinner where he's supposed to meet the rest of his co-conspirators. Sierra got there first, and they speak for the first time in a very long time. He goes to clean up as the rest of the group arrives and they discuss their plans for taking down the Colony. After they're finished, Jaqueline lingers to speak to Sierra, and they decide to work together this time, rather than apart. David also touches base with his husband to make sure they're on the same page and reaffirms that they're in it together to the end. Danny tells Lizzie he's made a decision. He's decided he's going to go through with the Solstice claiming of his family's power, and he wants to make sure she's prepared for what comes after. Lizzie says they should loop in Alice as backup, and she texts her to come back to the room. Once filled in, she agrees to help and they start to craft a plan. Sierra makes a surprise appearance to tell Danny that she's stepping out of his way and offering a warning to those who were involved in freeing Bonnie's magic, before disappearing. Lizzie calls her sister to check on how Josie's doing, and she says that she'll ask Hope about coming up to New York to help. They still continue to discuss their plan and head out to find a location for their ritual casting. Rebekah cons Kol into running some errands with her. Kol grudgingly acquiesces and they head out to pick up various items, while Rebekah tries to get a firmer grasp on Kol's plans with Kieran. Turns out, Kieran wants to examine her blood to figure out how the cure influences things that allows her to do magic, as well as possibly Hope's. Rebekah suggests inviting Hope home for bonfire season to see if she'll be willing to help. Agreeing that it's a good idea, they both head home to see Kol's nephew. Kieran gets the third degree over breakfast. Kieran lays out her plan for becoming a vampire but also keeping her magic. She also admits that things have become complicated with her feelings for Kol, but she still intends to push through, because whether or not she succeeds, she's still dying and she doesn't want to. Jaqueline and Max have an unexpected tagalong to visit Hallewell. Ezra is waiting for them, demanding in on the interrogation. While Hallewell plays with them for a little while, eventually he comes clean and tells them what the Inner Circle won't: that when they ascend to take their parents' places, they won't be them for long. All of the Inner Circle is possessed by a founding member of the Colony. They try to determine whether or not he's telling the truth, and while they try to convince him to join their side, Hallewell refuses, claiming that they have nothing to offer him until they win. The Melrouxs and Ezra part ways, and Ezra calls his husband to fill him in. David takes it about as well as could be expected, given his history of possession. He knows that he needs to call in his favor with Allison Argent, and get some supplies, and he implores Ezra to get all of them together - including Sierra. Ezra leans on Jaqueline, and she reaches out through their emergency contact crystals. Jaqueline relays the news and convinces Sierra to at least take the meeting with David and tht they need a new plan. David makes an appointment to see his lawyer. He pays a visit to Harvey's office, saying that he needs to update his will. After designating his wishes, Harvey asks if there's anything he can do to help, and for now, David says no. Harvey shares this news with Donna, and they both have feelings about it. He asks her out to dinner, and she politely turns him down. Mia runs into her dad after a rough conversation with JJ. While Oliver tries to get to the root of the issue, Mia winds up inadvertently revealing that she remembers another timeline where Oliver died - one that Barry has been hiding from him. Reassuring Mia that she never has to run from him, she moves forward feeling better but still unsettled about JJ's behavior. JJ makes a play with Connor. He tries to win his brother to his side against Mia, wanting to keep all his pawns in the places where he could see them. He also makes plans to try and track down some Mirakuru to get himself back on the same level as Mia with her Slayerness. Either way, plans slowly get put into motion. Liv and Tyler prepare for Caroline's arrival. In the meantime, the traveling group shares supernatural gossip and Bonnie tells Lydia more about the difference between banshees and sirens. After leaving the research group in Tyler and Liv's care, Caroline makes her way back to Mystic Falls to meet Stiles, and they have a long chat where Stiles gets to benefit from Caroline's experience. He decides to take some more time before he goes to see Cora, and when Lydia and the rest arrive, he agrees to drive Lydia, Isaac and Bonnie to New York to help Danny on the Solstice. Wes feels out what Mickey might be into. When they land on music, Wes takes Mickey to see his favorite Bon Jovi cover band at one of the local bars. As they enjoy the music, they talk about being a vampire in the modern age, as well as having still living relatives and how to navigate those relationships. As they part for the evening, they agree to take things slow, but do want to see each other again. Stefan and Damon are having an adventure in the Scottish highlands. Waking up in the middle of a cow pasture with little memory of how they got there, they realize they lost two of their drinking partners and Damon's phone. Stefan's phone is dying, so they try and make progress on foot back to civilization. After a good amount of squabbling, they come across a truck driver who's willing to give them a lift to the nearest town. After getting some coffee and charging his phone some, Stefan receives some texts from Caroline about an upcoming witch war. They check in on the other doppelganger, Elena, and when she confirms that she's safe and sound, they reach out to Buffy. As Stefan is passing her information on their location, the witch that kidnapped them returns, and he and Damon are both taken again, this time leaving Stefan's phone behind. Melanie has an unexpected visitor. Buffy is on the other side of the door, worried about Stefan. Once Melanie reassures her that Stefan falling off the wagon would have a lot more pizzazz, they realize that all the boys are missing and have been completely out of touch. Melanie and Scarlett attempt to call their respective paramours, and while Rhett's phone remains unanswered, Damon's is answered by the bartender from the night before. They go down to reclaim it, and the bartender becomes quite upset when Scarlett tries to compel her for more information. They're kicked out of the bar and run into Beck on the streets, who has also lost Lindsay in the shenanigans the night before. While they're rehashing all their shared information, Buffy gets a phone call from Stefan, letting her know where they are. When Stefan is kidnapped again mid-phone call, they grab a car and roar off to try and save the day. Waverly and Doc prepare to tell Wynonna about Dolls. Wynonna is on to them, that something is wrong, and when the truth is revealed, she is furious. They manage to find out that Serena at least is still in town, and when they arrive at the club, Serena signals to Dolls that he's in trouble. He and Wynonna leave the club to fight about the situation, but before they can come to a resolution, a wave of magic flows through the city. Alice guards the door as they prepare for the Solstice ritual. First Hope and Josie arrive, and Hope and Danny have a brief talk about what he's in for. Isaac reassures Bonnie that she's doing everything she can for Danny, but she can't carry this burden for him. Once they are all gathered on the roof, they get ready to start the spell. While bouyed by his friends, between Danny losing his nerve and interference from the Colony, the magic capsule is torn open and explodes all over the city. ACT VI: WILD MAGIC SURGE
Lizzie visits the astral plane. When she looks to see who came with her, she finds herself in the presence of a sheep that she later discerns to be Isaac. Getting frustrated with being unable to communicate, she head dives him without his permission, which he did not take well. He manages to talk her into getting out of his head, and they try and explore the astral plane they're in, until Josie astral projects herself in to get in touch. Hope and Danny visit another life. One where his parents and sister are still alive, to be more specific. They head off to a party in his honor, and while he tries to play along at first, the signs of what might be a curse on Hope snaps his patience and he demands an end to the charade. The magic reassures him that it was made for him, no matter what, and that he needs to learn to deal with his feelings which is a fair criticism. After he accepts to try and do better moving forward, they're returned to the real world and the wild magic is resolved. Aside from being briefly bewildered by Isaac the Sheep, Danny thanks Bonnie for her help, and gives her the ring Sierra gave him with a warning that it might not be as helpful as they hoped. Bonnie agrees to talk to Isaac about coming back to London with him to start over with the coven. Bonnie, Josie and Alice have a variety of ailments. They find themselves alone on the roof after the spell. Alice both can't see Bonnie, and can't stop shouting. Josie can see Bonnie, and Bonnie can otherwise see herself, so everyone is confused. After sending Alice to get a map, the effects eventually wear off, and they gather personal belongings to try and do a locator spell. While they don't find exact locations, it becomes clear that their friends are still present, so Josie astral projects to try and find her sister. Just as she passes out, Elijah calls and Alice takes it. Wynonna finds Dolls on fire. Unfortunately, she is also bubbling, so she can't exactly draw attention to help him. Fortunately, Dolls is part-dragon, so it doesn't take much to swallow the fire down, but not fast enough to save his shirt. Neither of them have any idea what's going on, so they retreat back into the club to find the rest of their group. Doc slips into a slick situation. He seems to be stuck on a patch of grease and can't quite keep his balance. Serena heads over to help, but everything she touches starts catching on fire. Doc alerts her to this fact, and she steps back to try and keep her distance, but they're both baffled until Doc finds himself sliding into place at Aalis' feet. Aalis is freaked out by Waverly. Which is fair, given that she is flying and for some reason her wings are out. But Waverly is able to gently calm her down until Doc arrives at her feet, and her sister and Dolls burst into the room. As Aalis regains herself, she explains that it was likely some kind of wild magic, likely from a misfired spell that a Bennett witch was contributing too. Unable to find more information about it now, Dolls and Wynonna finish having it out about his disappearance from their lives, and Dolls leaves her a phone number to reach him at in case she needs him. Harvey has lost his secretary. Lydia makes the situation worse, briefly, by wielding some magic missiles at the windows, but she manages to get through to Harvey with logic and realize that she recognizes him from his visit to Mystic Falls. They also talk about her looking for good information about banshees when the elevator comes back to life and Donna and Stiles join them. They agree to go out for a drink together after the night they had, and before they leave, Donna passes Stiles her number, just in case he needs it. Stiles and Donna are stuck in an elevator. After some pyrotechnics, they settle in to chat with each other and realize that they're both vampires. Donna tries to bestow some of her elder vampire wisdom, and reassure him that it's okay for him to want to live is life, and that's a valid reason to still be alive. And once that breakthrough is had, they begin to descend to the lobby. Julian and Rebekah get caught in a wave of wild magic. Worried about any side effects if they move from the spot, they start opening up to each other. Julian asks Rebekah why she ultimately decided to take the cure, and she talks about how sometimes you have to seek out the life you want rather than waiting for it to come to you. Elijah is a glowstick. Cami has flashbacks to her Catholic childhood as they try and figure out what happened. Cami reaches out to Kol to try and find a solution to the problem, and after they discern it may have been a spell gone wrong, Elijah tries to call Hope. Unfortunately Alice is the one who answers the phone and performs her version of the Earp stall. Kol and Bela try to get off the street. They recognize the wild magic for what it is, and don't notice anything off until they try to move and realize they've both gained eight inches of height. They're trying to adjust to their new center of gravity and all that comes with it, when Cami texts Kol to inquire about how Elijah is currently the brightest thing in the sky. The spot him from the street, and after having a good laugh at Elijah's expense, they make their way over to try and help. Klaus catches himself on fire. Davina tries to put him out with a wind spell, but when that doesn't go in his favor, she ups the ante with a rain spell, so Klaus is a sad man in his own private rain storm. Once they're sure the fire is out, Klaus reveals that Hope is in town and they were attempting some kind of spell, and they head back into the penthouse to find him dry clothes and enter to chaos. Scott winds up in an odd situation while cooking. Freya suddenly finds herself with a beard of feathers and when she sneezes, they scatter through the room. In the confusion, Scott accidentally stabs her with the knife he's using and it's bad. Freya sends him to get some vampire blood for her room, and when he's on his way back, Klaus catches sight of the damage done before they can fix it. Freya heals herself and calms her brother, before changing her clothes and heading out with him to check on Hope. Rhett tries to rouse Stefan and Damon. He manages to get Lindsay up instead, because Stefan is trapped in a ring of magic. After managing to wrangle and subdue the witch's grunt, they tried to get to Stefan, but are interrupted by Scarlett and Melanie subduing the witch in question. She refuses to go quietly, and says she has a kill switch for mutually assured destruction. After some unfortunate cheerleading antics, Rhett head-dives Stefan to try and find out what's going on, and between the two of them they find the weakness in the spell and set him free. After that, they successfully remove the witch's leverage and set Stefan free.
INTERLUDE
David pays Sierra a visit. It's been a long time since they've seen each other in person, and he steps in wanting to make sure they're on the same page. After doing some catch up regarding where they are in their lives now, they renew their commitment to finishing the Inner Circle and restarting the Colony as something new, before parting ways and committing to seeing each other the same time tomorrow. Malia picks Parrish up at the airport. They are both happy to see each other, and as they head from the airport to New Orleans Malia attempts to catch him up on everything that's gone down in his absence. She promises to make him a flow chart of the who's-who of New Orleans, before they arrive at the Hale apartment for some ~alone time~. Elena takes a call from Ezra. The two of them catch up on the current events, including the stakes that are being raised in terms of the Colony and what the heirs are planning with their little coup. When the conversation gets around to work, Elena admits that she's been looking at job postings in Lawrence but hasn't discussed them with Dean yet. They resolve to continue keeping in touch, and while Elena takes her research shift with Dean, she brings up the job and he's on the same page. She agrees to send in her resume out and they go out to have a bit of a date night in town. Sam and Allison try to talk. Sam admits that his luck with love has not been the best, since all his girlfriends are dead, so his freaking out about Allison's recent injuries is nothing to do with her, just more his own baggage. Allison understands, and they decide to go grab drinks when they've been liberated from the books so they can talk more freely. They head to get drinks at a local bar, and Sam and Allison start trading near-death experience stories as well as experience with their exes. Lydia checks in with the group text. She wanted to make sure that the magic didn't spread past New York, and while there's no sign of ripples, they do suss out that Isaac was unfortunately turned into a sheep. Isaac does not take the teasing with grace, likely because he's a little annoyed that he got outted in the first place, and while he tries not to respond, eventually they goad it out of him. While things were still confusing, Lydia texted Bonnie on the side to try and save him some of that embarrassment but unfortunately that didn't really work out in her favor. Isaac peels off and chats with Scott while the rest of the group razzes him and confides that his time with a sheep was not his best look, especially how he handled things with Lizzie, and that he owes her an apology, though he doesn't think he was wrong. Scott reassures him that his feelings are valid, but he should definitely make peace with her. Lydia enjoys her morning after with Harvey. They get to know each other a bit better, she checks Louis' math, and they decide to have breakfast before Lydia gets on the train. Eventually the conversation strays towards Lydia's banshee abilities and Harvey's work with the Colony, but Lydia does her best to give him the benefit of the doubt and hopes that he isn't just another bad guy on her roster. Liv prepares to meet Luke's new boyfriend. While they're chatting and giving each other shit, the twins notice a guy who looks oddly familiar, and Liv being Liv decides to go and poke the bear and see. It turns out it is their long thought dead brother, and he thought they were dead too, so it's shocking all around. That doesn't really land well with Luke's new boyfriend, but that's probably for the best. The three Parkers try and catch up on where the three of them have been. As they realize that this is going to be a much longer conversation, Liv ducks out to update Tyler, and he offers to drive up to help her through her family crisis. When they finish catching up, they agree to keep in touch to both see each other again and also make a plan on how to tell Jo. Mia and Mickey enjoy a night at Verdant. Zoe joins them for some drinks and they chat about what life was like growing up in Star City, and they get to know each other better. Once they've done a sufficient amount of chatting, they graduate to dancing until Zoe has had enough and needs to go home. Then he heads over to the bar to hang out with Wes until the end of his shift. Barry gets a call from Oliver. After Oliver yells at him for keeping secrets from him and getting in over his head, they discuss Mia and Oliver's concerns. Barry agrees to reach out to J'onn to check on Mia and make sure she's okay, and reminisce briefly about their adventures before they go back to their lives. Jaqueline finds Max in her office. Max confronts her about what she and Sierra have been up to and why she didn't tell him and she wasn't sure if she could trust him. He's hurt by that, and they renew their agreement to be on the same page from here on out. He goes to visit their prisoner to see if he has any dirt on the Inner Circle, and Hallewell decides to share his leverage: that there originally was an additional member of the Inner Circle who objected to their plans to possess each of their descendants to maintain their power. As a result, he was killed and cursed by the rest of the group to keep being reborn until he can manage to live a full life and grow to old age. Hallewell gives Max the witch's name (Russell DeBrande), and where to find him. Max heads out to the little coffee shop in Hershey, Pennsylvania where he finds Rusty behind the bar. They try and dance around what the other is doing here for a bit, before Max eventually caves and tells Rusty why he's here. Rusty doesn't trust him at first, but he agrees to at least help them take out Kirsanov as a test run. He tells Max that he's going to need to find a rare supernatural creature as bait to get them in the door, and Max leaves to discuss it with the rest of his co-conspirators. Stefan and Buffy regroup after the incident. After feeding and returning to bed, Stefan fields Buffy's questions about why they wanted Stefan and tells her about the saga of the doppelgangers. Isaac tries to clear the air with Lizzie. He drops by her dorm before leaving for England and does his best to clear the air, explaining why he reacted the way he did, and having a chat about what can be expected moving forward. After she tells Josie that they like Isaac now, the girls make plans to spend a long weekend together soon.
THE INNER CIRCLE
ACT I: KIRSANOV
Max has a question about a banshee. The heirs meet to decide what to do with their plan to take on Kirsanov, and after realizing that a banshee they know is connected to another supernatural creature - namely a hellhound - they decide that she's their best play. They then go to Boston to crash Harvey and Lydia's date, previously crashed by Jessica Pearson, and fill her in on the ask. Lydia doesn't respond well to being ambushed, and when she and Harvey head back to her place she takes some time to reach out to Jackson, Allison and Parrish to fill them in on what's happening. Parrish and Malia are both not thrilled at being roped into this while he's on vacation, but they agree that they're not going to let Lydia go into this alone. They prepare to move closer to where things are happening in order to be prepared to step in if needed. Allison is understandably pissed about it all, and she reaches out to Sam to find out if anything has been asked of him, and finds out that Damian and Katherine have run afoul of another Colony trap, and calls to confront David about it. David attempts to talk her down, but doesn't get very far before she hangs up on him. He and Ezra talk about the progress they're making, and while David is focused on something else, Ezra taps in Jaqueline and Sierra with Stiles. Jackson and Alexander agree to travel to Lydia in Boston as back up. She informs Harvey of their upcoming arrival and they start talking about what Lydia might be able to get out of the Colony for agreeing to their terms. They figure out that the Colony might have additional leverage, and she reaches out to Stiles to warn him about what might be happening. Harvey reaches out to David to confirm, which he does. Jackson and Alexander arrive and after getting caught up, Alexander calls in a favor with Shep to see if they can go back Sweets up as he tries to check in on Stiles. Malia and Parrish arrive as well, and are there when David and Ezra show up to go over the game plan. No one is completely satisfied with the information provided but the conclusion is that they're doing this, so the husbands leave to give the rest of the group some time to strategize. They come up with a plan that works for them, and Malia and Parrish go to find some Russia-appropriate clothing as they get ready to head to the frozen north. Caroline and Ryan have a Halloween adventure while being on call during spooky season. Sam and Allison are starting to feel the tension of being stuck in the bunker together all the time. Katherine and Damian stumble across one of the bodies. After making their way around the Colony security, they prepare to burn the body but unfortunately don't catch all the traps. Damian is branded with a mark he doesn't recognize, and they make their grand escape before tapping in Sam, Bela and Ezra. Sam and Rowena try and put their heads together to see what it is, and while Rowena recognizes it, it's not good. Damian is essentially going to need to keep ahead of the Colony until both the casters of the sigil are taken out. Rowena reaches out to Abernathy to see if he can help, and they make plans to meet in Chicago. That's conveyed to Damian and Katherine, and as they make their way there, Damian considers that their time as partners is numbered. Wynonna and Waverly dress up for a USO masquerade. Wynonna sends out an invite to Dolls and he brings a few friends to meet them there. As the group splits off to give the two of them some space, Dolls and Wynonna chat about what their lives have been up to and they agree to keep in touch better moving forward. Lizzie gets surprised by her roommate. Alice is planning on getting Lizzie out of her funk by convincing her to go out and do a normal college student thing, like a frat haunted house Halloween party. They dress up as Velma and Daphne and head out where they're a bit underwhelmed by the haunted house and talk through some of Lizzie's moping, as well as bits of Alice's past. In the end, they track down a Fred and Shaggy and continue to have some good old college fun. Ezra's mother pays them a surprise visit. Ezra doesn't take it well, but David is always happy to spend time with Logan, so he takes her to the smoothie bar so they can chat while Ezra catches his breath. David and Logan have a frank conversation about their current situation and Logan reveals that she and Ezra's father are taking themselves off the board in terms of leverage in order to keep themselves safe. David approves of that plan, and Ezra eventually joins them and is able to talk down his mother in terms of him going with them. Once Logan leaves, David and Ezra talk through their concerns about their current predicament and agree to have a night in for themselves. William and Cooper stumble onto a hunt. After going through everything in the news, they pay visit to the victim's daughter and old secretary to get the information they need on the ghost. After the ghost is salted and burned, Coop and William head home to celebrate a job well done. Ric pays a visit to Jo's childhood home. Jo has a chance to reminisce about what it was like growing up as a Parker - it wasn't the best - while Dawn and Jeremy talk about some of the rougher parts of their high school years and made plans to get the respective halves of their families together for some kind of holiday shenanigan. Hope sends Bela a questionable text. After some delicate probing Hope reveals that they're trapped in a bit of a magical artifact situation with a newbie witch and need help finding their way out. After a thorough investigation of the artifacts on hand, they find the charmed miniature room in question, and after opening the door they are free to resume their day on campus. They thank Bela for her help and go out to give their brains a break from all the learning. Kol seeks his sister's counsel. Speaking with Hope is the next step in determining what's best for Kieran's future plans, but he doesn't want to end run the family the way he has in the past. Freya encourages Kol to be forthright and also treat Hope like the adult she is, but Kol still thinks the family should be involved so he agrees to put it to a vote at breakfast the next morning. Rebekah and Doc return from the party, passing off one of their tickets to Freya and encouraging her to get out for the evening, which she does. At breakfast the next morning, the matter is brought to a vote and the siblings agree that they should let Hope make her own choices. Kol retreats back to his bedroom where he and Kieran discuss next steps and as well as how time is running out for their options. If they're going to turn Kieran into a vampire without running into mobility issues and other damage, they may need to turn her soon. Kieran still wants to talk to Hope first, but agrees that after that they'll evaluate things from there. Faith does not arrive at the party she expected. She meets Freya, who also seems overwhelmed by the spectacle of it all, and they decide to dip out and find some quieter fun. Meanwhile, Aalis and Waverly decide to grab a separate table to chat away from Dolls and Wynonna as they work their shit out. In the end they have to agree to disagree about how the Earps are handling Dolls' situation but they do take the time to get to know each other better. Julian attempts to go out and have a good time while still struggling with what's happening with his sister, and runs into Crash. Crash admits concern about what's going on with Julian because it's some heavy stuff, and it's important that Julian finds some kind of balance. They encourage him to follow their whimsy which leads to more drinks and an attempt at swing dancing that ends in a romantic first kiss, but also a small dance floor pile up. After making their way off the floor, they head out to the streets of New York to find some potentially less dangerous fun. Allison and Elena spend a night alone in the bunker. After having some drinks, they decide to explore the areas of the bunker they haven't been in - specifically, in search of a pool to swim in. They get some girl talk in in the process, including dissecting both Elena's terrible life and her relationship with Dean. When they find the pool, they work on getting it open, and agree that the girlfriends of Winchesters need to stick together in the end. Damon has been dressing for revenge. He and Melanie spend their Halloween on a spooky hayride, but given that they are creatures of the night themselves, they spend more of their time reminiscing, and pulling at the threads of their shared history. Melanie reveals that she's the one who turned Rhett, not Scarlett, and talks a bit about her husband when she was alive and while she didn't seem fit to have him join her in the afterlife. Elena and Dean have the bunker to themselves and settle in for some quality time. Stiles reaches out to Cora to try to make amends. On the way back to his apartment, they make small talk as they catch up on the goings-ons in each others life since they last saw each other. As they're settling in, Lydia calls and informs them that she's being strong-armed into a Colony adventure and Stiles might be used as bait. While Cora and Stiles are trying to decide what to do, Jaqueline and Sierra make their presence known, and encourage the two of them to stay put with mountain ash reinforcements. As they brainstorm, Sweets picks up Shep and his siblings and prepares to drive them over to Stiles' apartment. As they catch up on the situation, Luke realizes that someone he has a connection to is involved, and he breaks off to try and distract at least one of the witches. Jaqueline suspects a trap, but agrees to the meet. Shep, Liv and Sweets go to retrieve Stiles, and Sierra attempts to contain them but when that doesn't work, she calls Jaqueline to deal with Luke. Liv and the rest of the group make their escape out the window and into Sweets' car. Stiles has questions about Sweets' knowledge of the supernatural, in the process of driving them back to the FBI building to figure out how to deal with the witches. Luke gets whammied by Jaqueline. He tries to play it cool, but when Stiles and company escape, Jaqueline gets bored with playing nice and forces him to call his sister. Liv picks up the phone, and Jaqueline negotiates a meet up, though Liv forces them to go to the FBI building where they have to play nice. Liv has a fairly loose plan to trap the witches in one of the conference rooms but not really sure on how to follow through, especially since they need to separate Luke from the witches. Sweets suggests Stiles call Audrey. Jaqueline, Sierra and Luke arrive and start to make their way through security. When Special Agent Audrey Parker steps up to try and separate Luke from the witches, Jaqueline tries to interfere, but her magic has no effect. Audrey sweeps Luke off to safety, before Sweets arrives to escort Jaqueline and Sierra to meet with Liv, as per their agreement. Liv manages to play her cards right, tricking them with an astral projected Stiles, before trapping them in the conference room until their business together is resolved. The twins are reunited, and have questions about Audrey's abilities which she somewhat explains. They wait expectantly for word from the Russia team, and when that's finally resolved, they make their exit and Sweets releases Sierra and Jaqueline from their prison, where they go to take out their frustration on someone else. Alexander gives the group some magic buffs for their mission. After everything has settled into place and they reconfirm the plan, Malia attempts to confirm that this situation can be trusted, and while Lydia vouches for Harvey, she seems unconvinced. Rusty leads the way to the tower once they arrive. They are greeted by Kirsanov at the door, and he accepts their offering before leading them upstairs under the guise of believing that Rusty is finally ready to give in. When they reach the top floor, they're greeted by a little girl who is likely Kirsanov's next vessel. They have a tense standoff as Kirsanov tries to figure out what they're after, until the alarms go off indicating a jail break in the collection area. As the monsters approach, the witches do their best to keep Kirsanov in place, while David tries to get the little girl out of the room. Soon the monsters arrive and tear into Kirsanov, and Rusty waits to make sure the witch is dead before making his escape from the building, he, Jackson, Max and Parrish getting clear as the tower collapsed behind them. Lydia and Parrish are lead down to the collection area, seeing cells upon cells of shifters trapped away from the rest of the world. After getting around the undead guards, they released everyone. Some went to get their revenge on their captor, while Lydia, Parrish and Malia helped the rest of them into vehicles to drive them back to the train station. When they arrive, Lydia checks in with Harvey as he and Alexander get people organized and wait for the rest of the group to arrive. When they catch up, the little girl in tow, David arranges Alexander a door to take their rescued cryptids directly to the Underground. Before Alexander leaves, he casts a translation charm on the little girl's (Irina) necklace, and warns them that she should probably be hidden until this business with the Gauntlet is done. And once that's settled, they get on the train to head back to Moscow. David and Ezra discuss what to do with Irina. After some musing, they decide that Elena, the Winchesters and their bunker would be the best option, so they reach out to Elena. Elena takes it back to the boys and they're uncertain about it but they agree to do it for the sake of the little girl. When they meet up with the husbands and David seems as though he's quickly leaving, Elena tries to clarify what exactly is being expected of them and draws the boundary that beyond the updating of the wards, Ezra is not to be in the bunker, indicating that there's still a ways to go in repairing their friendship. Lydia returns to her apartment and contemplates moving. She doesn't like the fact that she was so easily found, and while she's not certain that she can ever keep witches out permanently, she certainly doesn't want to stay where they found her. Harvey agrees, and she floats the idea of moving to New York and transferring to NYU, and he seems pleased with the offer. Malia considers throwing a curveball into their vacation plans. Instead of heading back to the states for the rest of the days Parrish has off, she suggests they pop around Europe a bit instead and fly home after. They're both exhausted, but Jackson has some questions about what will happen to their rescued cryptids after they take them to their destinations. Alexander explains that they're mostly in the transportation game, looking after them is handled by their local communities, but Jackson doesn't feel as though that's enough. Jaqueline checks in on her brother. They toss barbs at each other for a bit and confirm they're both fine before sharing their experiences. Max is vexed that Rusty dared to turn him down when suggested they spend some more intimate time together. Jaqueline warns him to be careful, that they aren't fully certain that they trust Rusty yet, and Max assures her he will be and will see her when he gets home. Liv, Luke and Shep try to decide what to do next. Shep gets the call from the Underground to come help with everyone brought in from Siberia and they drop him off at the train station while Luke comes back with Liv to the Armory. While on the way, they text Jo to update her on the Shep situation. After they hang up, Jo goes in search of her husband to share the exciting news, to see if they could head back to Mystic Falls a little earlier than expected. ACT II: HERNANDEZ
Ezra pulls Elena aside. He explains that he never intended to turn her over to the Colony and apologizes for putting her in the position she's in. Elena tentatively accepts the apology, but it's clear they have a ways to go. They make their way into the caves and eventually they reach a split in the road and they divide into two teams. The Sullivans and Ezra take the right tunnel and they take the opportunity to get to know Ezra - and maybe get some of the juicy details about all the tension. They come across a burial site and Michael, with Evelyn brought along for the ride, is taken back to the moment he was taken to see his son's body. Disoriented as they both come out of the experience, they try to force answers out of Ezra he doesn't really have, but he seems to indicate that their son may have been brought back to life. When they hear a noise from the sarcophagus, they rush over to open it and are surprised to find a strange man there, with a matching strange woman crawling out of the stream. They try to get some answers out of them, and when their names are revealed to be Grayson and Miranda Gilbert, Ezra and Evelyn go off to find Elena and see if Lucas is also on the other side of the tunnel. Sullivan tries to explain that they don't really know much, when Elena appears and they realize that their daughter is much older than they remember her being - as well as spending time with Dean Winchester. and they usher them out of the cavern. The Winchesters and Elena take the left and Dean and Elena discuss whether she's being too hard on Ezra. They keep going until they find a burial site, and Elena experiences a brutal reliving of the night her parents died. The body burns and Elena is marked with a brand. As they try to figure out what happens, Lucas Sullivan appears and manages to steal Dean's gun before he's noticed and demands answers. The Winchesters don't really have any, but when they reveal his parents are here, he becomes much more cooperative. When Elena realizes what this could mean for her parents, she takes off to the other branch of the cave. Sam checks Lucas to ensure he's human and as they're heading back to the mouth of the cave, Evelyn meets them halfway. Lucas apologizes to his mother as they have a tearful reunion. Sam heads out to see if they can rearrange the seating to fit their new extra passengers, and after Ezra casts a clown car spell, they all pile into the cars and head back to Kansas. When they stop at a rest stop, Grayson and Miranda go to obtain some snacks, confused by the ways the world has changed and trying to figure out how to approach what Elena may or may not want to tell them. Dean checks in with Sam about what he thinks regarding what they're up against, and what this might mean for his relationship. They eventually meet up with Miranda and Grayson and head back to the car. Ezra reaches out to his husband to keep him informed, and they loop in the rest of the heirs to keep Jaqueline and Max from acting until they know what's going on. After some "playful" ribbing from the Malreauxs, they agree to wait for Ezra's word on where to start. Elena reaches out to Jeremy to tell him about their parents. He's floored by the news but agrees to get to the bunker as soon as he can. She also reaches out to Caroline, Tyler and Bonnie, informing them as to what happened and they agree to provide any support she needs. They make it back to the bunker, and after doing some research and reaching out to Daniel Abernathy, they discover they have a loophole. If Hernandez is killed by someone else, she automatically jumps into one of the recently resurrected bodies. However, if one of the recently resurrected kills Hernandez, then she stays dead for good. They agree that Lucas is their best chance for having this be a success and he agrees to go to Mexico with Ezra after his brother arrives so he has a chance to see him. Ezra steps off to the side to give the witches another update and they don't like it but agree to wait for Ezra and their sacrificial lamb to arrive. Elena and Dean agree and head off to talk to the Gilberts. Evelyn follows her son off to the side and tries to pry some of his feelings out of him and she has moderate success as he doesn't really want to talk or know how to feel when things are still up in the air. When Jeremy arrives, Elena and Dean update the Gilberts in terms of what's going on and revelations are made about various things - Jeremy being a hunter, Miranda knowing about Elena being a doppelganger - and this then leads into a long talk about some of the things that Elena and Jeremy have been through since their parents died. After they decide to take a break, Elena goes to check in with Dean, which is really more of taking a minute to decompress and work through some of her feelings. Dean does a very good job at doing a fair amount of emotional labor, and they prepare to order pizza for the bunker and she promises to get him extra brownie bites. Miranda sits with Grayson as they try to unpack what they've just learned, and Miranda reveals what went down with Abby and Mikael. They realize they still have a lot of questions about things that happened but opt to take it one day at a time and try to figure things out as they go. Sam helps Jeremy get some clean clothes, and offers some advice about how to help his parents adjust. After cleaning up, he calls Dawn and fills her in on everything that's going on. They talk out his feelings and she fills him in on adventures in Scotland, and offers to change her flight to Kansas if he needs it. Evelyn reaches out to Cooper to inform him about his brother. Coop fills in William and takes off to make it to the bunker in Kansas, but doesn't tell Mickey before he leaves, not until he has more information. He and William have some cute convos on the way, and eventually arrives and has a tumultuous reunion with his brother, who is upset to find out everything that happened to Mickey while he was dead. Lucas steps back to cool off and his mother checks in on him to make sure he's okay. He isn't but he can't really begin to move on until this business with Hernandez is done. Cooper steps out to give Mickey an owed phone call. He unloads a lot of new information and tries to apologize for being a shitty friend, but it's not a good apology. Mia checks in on her roommate and after hearing him out, she offers for him to come patrolling with her. Mickey asks Wes if he wants to come with and he declines, but hopes that it helps. Max and Jaqueline wait for Rusty to arrive. As they do, they talk some shit, and get the updates from Ezra about the body situation. They fill in Rusty when he arrives, and he's less than pleased that he needs to stay hands off for this one, but he agrees that they need to keep Hernandez from escorting the loophole. When Lucas and Ezra arrive, they need to go catch her on set. Lucas sneaks onto set ahead of Jaqueline and Max, needing Hernandez to be dead before they arrive to preserve their cover. Lucas makes his way to her trailer, kills Hernandez, and then sneaks out before he can catch any undue attention. He meets Ezra back in the car and the twins arrive to for their meeting with Hernandez. They share the news back to the Colony and David comes to pick them up and bring them in. Lucas gets in Ezra's car and they head out. He calls to check in at the bunker, and confirms for his mother that the job is done. He tells her they're on the way back and after getting off the phone, takes a nap on the way to the airport. Sierra returns back to the Colony. Helena is happy to see her and they have the familiar Colony banter, before the older woman leaves to inform her parents that she's arrived. Ezra reaches out that they need to move the Kirsanov situation along, and after discussing their options with Sierra, David reaches out to Harvey to see if they could instigate the finding of Kirsanov's body. Archer pays Alice a visit. Alice overreacts by a lot, and sends Archer on his way, while going off with Lizzie to cool down. After explaining the backstory and realizing that she definitely may have taken things too far, Waverly texts her asking her to come over to clear the air, and she agrees, asking Lizzie to come with her. Waverly get a call from Archer asking her to hear him out and she does. He is invited back to her hotel room to fill her in on what he's been up to while she orders lunch. Eventually Alice and Lizzie arrives and Archer gives her a much better apology, and they clear the air between them. Luke meets a mysterious stranger on the subway. Feeling a sense of deja vu, he decides to make his approach and they develop a friendly banter. Robin talks about how he's just moved there from London, and is looking to make friends. They trade numbers and plan to talk later. Elena finds something interesting in the bunker. When poking around some of the Men of Letters boxes, she finds herself trapped by magical mistletoe that holds her in place. Fortunately Dean comes to her rescue and they're able to smooch their way to freedom. Hayley is in need of a new name for her apartment lease. ACT III: WALLACE AND CORSAIR
Cami reaches out to Beck when she returns to New Orleans. With the council down a member, she would like to keep the human seat in the family, so she asks him if he would be willing to take it on. Beck discusses it with Lindsay, and things come to a head when Lindsay is a bit too blaze about them having a wedding. They try to come to a compromise where neither of them are actually happy, but they put a pin in the conversation until after Thanksgiving, and go join Beck's family for dessert. Dawn greets their visitors at the door. Slowly the groups make their way in and get to know each other better, having small chats as they get ready for dinner, and as they move through dinner and dessert. However, as dessert was getting ready, an explosion rocks through the castle and all parties are divided. Wes and Damon get stuck in the wine cellar, otherwise uninjured but trapped in place. When there isn't immediately an obvious way out, Damon breaks into champagne, and he and Damon have a long chat about how they wound up in the situation and what's put Damon in his current mental space. Wes suggests that maybe Damon should try therapy. Damon brushes it off, finds a secret exit, and with that they escape into the catacombs. Bonnie, Isaac and Scarlett go off the balcony, and while Scarlett is able to grab Bonnie, she can't get a hold of Isaac and instead pushes him towards the lake. Once they land, Scarlett's phone rings, with Wes calling to inform her that he and Damon are alive but stuck in the wine cellar. After their phone call, she and Bonnie catch sight of bodies moving in he trees - vampires. In fact, vampires that Scarlett recognizes. Once they dispose of the first batch, Scarlett explains that they're vampires from the Ivory Tower, and this just became much more interesting. They keep moving, and run into two Slayers who had gotten out of the rubble and trying to find some help. They stick together and run into another batch of vampires where Clara almost dies before Isaac comes to the rescue. The girls are starting to get overwhelmed, so they decide to head back to the cars where Isaac will take them into town to find help and Bonnie and Scarlett will go back to the castle to see if they can find more survivors. Stefan and Faith get caught under the rubble outside the castle, and have to carefully weave their way out. Stefan's phone is smashed and when they hear screams they force their way out. Clara and Lee are being ganged up on by vampires and the two of them jump in to help. They dispatch the vampires before sending the girls out to get help. He and Faith head back into the tower, take out one of the witch that they fish some information out of the witch before they kill her. Shortly after that, they track down Dawn who has a broken leg and they fish her out of the rubble to take her outside. As they reach the exterior, they hear Isaac, Bonnie and company and manage to get Dawn into the car to go to the hospital to have her leg treated. Scarlett informs Stefan of the Tower's involvement, and that there's probably a shot-caller somewhere in the tower, with the goal to ensure that Buffy's dead. She, Stefan, Faith and Bonnie head in to the castle to keep looking through the rubble. Danny and Buffy fall a considerable distance but Danny's magic protects them some from the exploding stove. After putting out the fires, he fishes Buffy out of the rubble and does his best to get her to her feet so they can start moving. He explains to her the trials and tribulations of wild magic, when they're captured by a pair of witches and taken of to see their boss. Lindsay and Beck come to on the stairs, and Lindsay has a broken arm. They can't get down to the main floor easily, so they sneak their way back along the second floor and pick up Whitney, another of the baby slayers, and find another stair case down. They notice that Wes and Damon have escaped the wine cellar, and eventually run into the group looking for Buffy. The fiancés agree to go take Whitney out and see if they can get some help while the rest continues onward. Melanie and Rhett plummet through the castle and Melanie winds up impaled on a chair leg. Rhett helps free her and after giving her a moment to heal, they try to find their way out of the catacombs. They catch up with Damon and Wes to find out they're going the wrong way, but as they're heading back in the opposite direction, they get caught by Brannigan, a high up in the Ivory Tower, and his minions. They begin taking out some of the minions, and they begin to gain the upper hand, when two more witches arrive with Danny and Buffy in tow. It does not go well for them regardless. Brannigan is killed and they keep one of the witches alive to interrogate for information. After getting the full information, Buffy walks away, wanting to get outside and she meets Stefan and gang on the way. Stefan gives her the bad news of the casualties, and they take a moment to grieve, before heading up to the grounds to deal with the aftermath. Meanwhile, Wes asks Rhett if he's talked to Rusty lately, knowing if there's Inner Circle involvement, Rusty is probably at least aware. Rhett reacts poorly to those insinuations, especially when Damon seems content to push the red button on the matter, but before things can go to far, Scarlett interrupts and she and Rhett have a romantic reunion, now that they're all in one piece. Buffy gathers the remainder of the castle survivors together to talk about next moves. Rhett reveals what he's learned from Rusty about the situation and why the Slayers may have been pulled into it. They decide they want to be involved in resolving the situation, so they make plans to head out and meet Rusty to learn more. Catriona checks in with her children when she hears news of the Slayer castle. All of them check in and are accounted for, and while the family swarms to try and help Beck and Lindsay, Beck insists that they're fine and there's nothing to worry about. When Bairre Jr. wakes and doesn't appreciate the bread puns offered to him, he checks in with Beck one on one. Beck admits that he and Lindsay are at a bit of an impasse with regards to the wedding. Bairre reassures him that the wedding can be sorted out, they just need to actually talk about it. Lindsay arrives with her discharge papers from the hospital, and as they prepare to leave she presents some compromises so that they both get what they want. Jo asks one of the twins to answer the door. Lizzie takes up the task and greets Shep and Annie, though regarding them with a healthy amount of suspicion. She gestures them inside where they go to say hello to Jo and Ric. Ric offers everyone drinks and Annie hangs back with him to get the lay of the land while Jo and Shep catch up. Eventually they all move into the living room and soon Tyler, Liv and Luke arrive to round out the group. They share some of the more harrowing details that the other group has missed before moving to dinner to do it over turkey and mashed potatoes. After dinner, the college-age twins realize that their phones have been blowing up. Josie calls Hope back, and gets caught up on everything that's happened so far in New Orleans. Josie shares her take on their new uncle, and how she hopes that it will ultimately be good for Lizzie to have another heretic around. They head off to bed, promising to see each other in a few days. Lizzie sorts through Alice's messages, and finds that she's missed a lot. She calls her friend back to find Alice a little tipsy, but able to convey some information about the witch war coming their way. As Alice heads to sleep, Lizzie calls her boyfriend to hear for herself that he's okay, and he answers from where he and Bonnie are monitoring his concussion. He assures her that he's fine, and that he's looking forward to seeing her when she comes out to London for winter break. Lizzie hangs up, but promises to call him back once there are less listening ears around. Shep and Annie touch base after dinner. Shep is feeling good having reunited with his family, and that teenagers will be showing up in his messages. Annie fills him in on Serena's new project and Shep offers his help should they need it. Annie accepts before they receive messages from Abernathy, summoning them back to the Underground. They pass Luke on the way out who's exchanging flirty texts with Robin. They banter about family, Thanksgiving and Black Friday, as well as making plans to grab a drink when Luke is back in the city before turning in for the night. Robin and his sister arrive for work Thanksgiving at Pearson Spector Litt. They meet up with Connor who entices both of them into having a drink, and lightly chatting before the party gets started. Donna and Harvey engage in some light holiday banter before Rusty appears to deliver the news both about the Slayer Castle and Brannigan's untimely death. Donna is rattled and excuses herself to go make some calls and warn her former Ivory Tower associates. Carroll arrives a bit late to the party, meets Maude, and banters a bit with the group before going to get a drink for himself from his brother the bartender. He and Cormac banter back and forth about this job, and Cormac says he's going to meet up with Lois after so not to wait up. Carroll heads back to the group and they continue to have a pleasant Thanksgiving together. Dolls and the Earps arrive at Thanksgiving. They sit with Aalis for a bit, and she and Waverly lightly flirt, until Aalis receives a call from her old friend Donna. Donna delivers the bad news about Brannigan, and Aalis moves from relaxation to action. She fills Abernathy in on the shift in power dynamics, and he asks her to task Cordy with reaching out to her Slayer contacts to see what the damage is. Before she does that, Aalis checks in with her old friend Sophie Devereaux and delivers the news, before moving on to Cordy and Angel. Cordy calls Buffy to see what she needs, and for now it's simply continuing to spread the warnings and keep their eye on things. Dolls catches on that something is up and heads off to try and find Aalis. Wynonna follows, and they head off to find Aalis, where she fills them in what's going on and what may be coming. Aalis sends them off to reach out to their contacts and while Wynonna offers up her services with Peacemaker, Dolls points out that Alice has been spending time with a lot of witches and encourages Wynonna to call her daughter. In the meantime, Waverly is pulled into a side conversation with Taylor. They bond a bit over their love of languages and translation until Dolls comes over and fills her in on the situation, and that it's time to get to work. Alexander plans to introduce Jackson to Serena. Jackson runs his idea by Serena, and she seems intrigued, though she has a lot of questions about the logistics. In the end, she says she'll talk to her aunt and see where they have to start. Jackson seems pleased with how things netted out and Alexander reassures him until his father calls him into his office with the news about what's happened in Scotland and that the Gauntlet has officially started. While he doesn't want to, given that Jackson and Alexander were involved in Kirsanov's death, he needs to make them harder to find. The boys agree, reluctantly, to go to the Ghost River Triangle to start making inroads there while they wait for things to die down. Alice awkwardly reconnects with Hope at Thanksgiving. After making some decor decisions, they pull off to chat until Wynonna calls, catching Alice by surprise. She gives her daughter a warning about a witch war and that there was an attack in Scotland, but she doesn't have a lot of information to go off of. Alice takes this information to Hope, Doc and Rebekah, and they start spreading the word to the various corners of the house. Most of the Mikaelsons are annoyed, but as they're spreading the word, Kieran and Kol take a moment to talk to Hope about their project, and ask to if she would donate a sample of her blood. She's caught off-guard at first, and says she has to think about it before going to catch up with her family. Alice informs Klaus that Stefan is okay, and he sends him a text to check in. As people head in for dinner, Hope and Freya catch up and talk about Kol and Kieran's request as well as things with other members of the family. She encourages Hope to ask the questions she needs, whether it's of Kieran or her mother, to make sense of the things that make her uncertain. As everyone is leaving, she asks her mother if they can talk, and they take a walk to get away from prying ears. They talk about Elijah, why things weren't fixed between them after he got his memories back, as well as what happened the day the Siennas bound Hayley. Hope takes this new information back to digest, but it's good to have some of the air cleared. Back around dessert, Rebekah and Hope chat about being part of Kieran and Kol's project, and what they both get out of their magic. Hope goes to talk to Kieran after, asking some of the questions she has for what the project may look like and they take some time to bond, agreeing to see each other again while Kol and Kieran are in town. Stefan texts Klaus back, confirming that he's fine and while they don't need anything as of yet, he asks if Klaus may be willing to provide a drink and an alibi should the need arise. Klaus agrees, curious what Stefan is getting himself up to, and Stefan promises to tell him when he gets to New Orleans, as well as introduce him to Buffy. He then asks Buffy if she'd be interested in going to New Orleans to meet Klaus, and she agrees, so long as they head up to Kansas to see Dawn and so that Buffy can meet Jeremy after. As they discuss their immediate future, the conversation shifts to what may be in their extended future, with Stefan asking if she may be interested in getting married - making it clear that this isn't a proposal, but there could be one in their future. Buffy agrees, and shortly after they board their plane to Mississippi. Ben may have done something stupid. Just as he's about to come clean to Dickerson, his mother and stepfather arrive home from the Turkey Trot, forcing him to come clean to all of them: he had taken a DNA test and gotten a hit for a guy named Adam Milligan. After conveying all the information, the Braedans retreat to their separate corners - Ben and Dickerson moving up to his childhood room while Lisa and Rudy retreating to the kitchen. Ben admits that he could have timed things better, but is trying to fill in the gaps of his past, and hopes that this could help him do it. Meanwhile, Rudy keeps prepping Thanksgiving dinner and assuages Lisa's fears. Everything will turn out fine. Ben just needs some questions answered. Dickerson comes back to the group chat with some information leading them to one Dean Winchester. When they find Dean's number in Ben's phone, they call and Mary answers. Mary stalls for time, taking a message and saying she'll have Dean call them back, before going in search of her eldest son. She conveys the news that Lisa wants to talk to him, and Dean has no idea why since the Braedans are not supposed to remember him. He goes to call them back and this time gets Ben. Ben starts by asking questions, but eventually he drops the bomb: Dean is his biological father. Dean panics, says he can be there in twelve hours. Ben puts him on hold, taking it over with his mom before agreeing to have Dean visit. He and Lisa share the news with the rest of the group, and while she seems fairly calm, Ben is angry and wants his answers above anything else. Dean turns and finds Elena standing behind him, wondering what's wrong. He reveals that Ben may have been his kid after all, and that he's going to Battlecreek with Castiel to deal with it. Elena agrees to go with him, and they head off to try and get there by the next morning. When they arrive, they have a tense meeting, where they sort out some of the details of what happened, and the concerns in giving the memories back, but in the end, Lisa and Ben agree to get their memories back. Cas returns them and then makes his exit. While they're waiting for Lisa and Ben to wake up, Dean and Rudy have a chat where Rudy doesn't pull his punches and reminds Dean that Ben won't take it well if Dean chooses to abandon him again, so make sure he's in this for the right reasons and that he's ready to commit. Ben and Lisa do wake up, and Ben is upset with Dean for all new reasons, and they agree to give them some space to process. Lisa and Ben try to process what these new memories mean for them. Ben's still dealing with all of his disappointed feelings but they confirm that everything Dean said was true. They start making plans to protect themselves from the new threats to their world, and Ben and Dickerson go home so that Ben can continue to process. Rudy checks in with Lisa, and acknowledges that she probably has some feelings she has to work through on her own, and they agree to make plans to talk with Dean on her own. Rudy makes plans with Dean and Elena for dinner. Dean and Elena leave and head back to the hotel they book. She talks him out of going to the bar and instead they get to talk through some of Deans feelings on things. Elena encourages him to tell Sam, and she steps out to get lunch while Dean does just that. Sam is rattled by the news and talks Dean off the ledge, saying that their current problem can be handled without him for a little while. Elena returns with lunch, and they start to talk about what could come next to them after everything is settled. Rudy texts with an overture for dinner to talk things out with Lisa, and they agree but before dinner they are due for a nap. Caroline arrives for bunker Thanksgiving. She greets the recently resurrected Gilberts, and they settle in to make the usual pre-dinner small talk. Jeremy, in the meantime, is on the phone with Dawn, having a quiet chat about their respective Thanksgivings - at least until Dawn notices something funny, there's a loud noise and the line goes dead. Jeremy calls for his sister, and she and Caroline immediately leap into action, calling Bonnie and Stefan respectively. Stefan doesn't answer but Bonnie does and says that she'll get back to them with any information. Jeremy retreats to his room, and while the Gilberts go to make some coffee, and confer about what they noticed regarding the speed to which Caroline moved, and make it clear their distaste for their daughter's best friend being a vampire. Ezra catches them and drags them a bit for judging Caroline. What they don't realize is that Caroline could hear them as they talked. Caroline decides to go out for some ice, and Ryan goes with her. She gives him a bit of her tragic backstory regarding her dad, and he listens, while also giving her an out if she doesn't want to stay. But Caroline wants to be there for Elena, so they decide to get the ice and come back, while spending time making their Christmakkuh plans. Back at the bunker, Elena senses that something is off with her parents and goes to poke around the kitchen to find out what might have happened. Ezra admits to defending Caroline and Elena and Dean head back out into the war room to try and reason with her parents. It doesn't entirely go well. They're bitter and hurt, and she digs up more of her rough history to try and make them understand, but before they can make real progress, Bonnie calls and provides an update, saying that there's vampires involved from the Ivory Tower. Elena and Dean head back to the kitchen to get more information from Ezra. He checks in with David and David confirms that Wallace and Corsair must be involved but he doesn't have any additional information. He conveys that back to Elena, and admits that he probably won't be around for much longer as their plan is moving into the endgame, and they head out to finish getting dinner ready. Caroline and Ryan return with the ice to see Elena's parents in the war room. Caroline tries to meet the Gilberts halfway after they apologize, and they have a long talk about vampires and how they exist in the world, as well as the Salvatore School, some of the finer points of Klaus' initial arrival in their lives, and the ways that Caroline's parents died. They come away from things in a better place in the end, and while Caroline and Grayson head off to check on the food, Miranda goes to check on her son. Jeremy is looking at flights, debating on heading out to Scotland himself, unable to sit still, but Miranda convinces him to wait for word from Bonnie, just to ensure he doesn't miss any news. Jeremy agrees, and they head out to dinner. Somewhere along the way, Bonnie calls saying they found Dawn and that she's fine. Dawn calls shortly after, confirming both what Bonnie has already told them and that Jeremy still wants her to come to Kansas afterwards, which he does. Later, when the dishes are being washed and after Ezra has put Irina to bed, Rusty calls. He tells Ezra about their plan to hit the Riverboat to get to Wallace and Corsair, and tells him that he'll have to track someone down to take care of the bodies. Ezra says he will, and agrees to meet Rusty in Mississippi in two days. JJ is sneaking around the Arrow Cave. Oliver catches on and comes down to talk to him, but not before JJ is able to steal the formula for Mirakuru. But eventually he follows Oliver back upstairs to join the rest of the party. Mia is on the porch, fielding texts from her fellow Slayers as everyone checks in but also as all the casualties. Mickey joins her on the porch after the Sullivan Family Thanksgiving to have a roomie check in, and they eventually make their way back inside. Mia informs William that Isaac needs a new phone, which leads to talk about work, where Mia reveals that she is going to be leaving to go to Mississippi to get revenge for her friends. William volunteers to go with her, while Oliver has concerns. Mia reassures him that she knows what he's doing, and he steps away to try and manage his feelings. E1!Laurel steps over to try and help, and manages to talk him down, while trying to see what information she can get from Nora the next time she sees her and Ray. Afterwards, Oliver makes a toast to his family, while JJ slips out the back, ready to get to work. Coop prepares to introduce his boyfriend to his recently resurrected brother. Things go a little rough at first, with the two men hitting a bumpy start, but they move inside to chat and get ready for dinner. Eventually Mickey arrives and he and Lucas have their reunion, and Mickey is able to get some closure in that respect. Malia and Parrish arrive and reassure Scott that Josh and Aiden coming as support is a good thing, not a worrisome sign. Sam arrives first bearing wine, closely followed by Josh, Aiden and Davina, but as they are all heading to dinner, Sam's phone rings. Ezra tells him about the plan to attack the Riverboat, and how they need someone to handle the bodies and Sam is closest. Sam agrees that he'll try to see what he can do, and heads back into dinner. While he and Allison are washing dishes afterwards, he fills her in on what happened, and she agrees to go with him, as well as see who they can recruit from the table. Chris, Davina, Scott, Josh and Aiden agree to go with them, and they take a couple hours to gather supplies before heading to the Muir Woods. Rusty greets his coconspirators as they arrive in Mississippi. As they arrive at the warehouse, they disperse gear, discuss the plan, and prepare to infiltrate the Riverboat. He dreamwalks into David's mind and David confirms their suspicion. Ezra asks him what David wants him to do, and David says he can't choose for him, meaning he wants Ezra to run as far and fast as he can. Ezra decides to stay with Rusty, and they head off on the road together. Sam leads the way to the burial site. Davina gets distracted by the power lingering in the trees, but eventually they arrive at the burial site. Things go sideways, and half of their party is dragged into the ground and out of view. Josh, Chris and Aiden are scrambling to try and find out where their friends went when zombies of past sins climb out of the ground. Aiden receives Dahlia, which he doesn't quite understand as she tries to show him things that don't make sense, but he puts a pin in it for later as they each dispatch their zombies. While they were recovering, more opponents appear and Aiden and Chris are able to hide, but they capture Josh and take him back to another facility. Josh heads inside, where he is put into a cell with Jed, who has been stuck in the cell for three months. As they try to find their own way out, Chris and Aiden are trying to figure out the best way inside. While they're discussing, Castiel appears, studying the building. He informs them that Sam called him and the three of them make their way inside together. They make their way down to the lower level to collect Josh and Jed, before making their way down into the cavern to find the others. Allison, Sam, Davina and Scott find themselves in Salem. They seem to be inserted into characters from The Crucible, though some things seem off, like Allison being Abigail instead of Elizabeth. The four of them try to figure out how to find their way out of the puzzle when Scott and Davina are approached by their "daughter," saying that they're worried about Mary Warren. They agree to follow her, trying to develop some kind of plan, when "Ruth" loses track of the names, and they all head into the house to try and figure out what's going on. Turns out "Ruth" is actually Spike, while "Mary Warren" who they were going to see is Ben, Jed's demigod boyfriend. Davina recognizes that the spell is starting to break down and thinks that if they combine her magic with Ben's innate divine prowess, they might be able to break through the spell. As the spell crumbles, they wake up in the cavern where they're being prepped to be vessels. They break free and are ambushed by Wallace and Corsair projecting into new hosts. The group of them fight back, forcing them out of their host bodies and back onto the boat. After things resolve, they go track down the original bodies and salt and burn, and once it's done, the cavern begins to collapse around them. Buffy also expresses some concerns about Rusty, and Stefan agrees to reach out to Elena to see if they can take the temperature on how things are going with Ezra to further keep an eye on Rusty. Aiden has a question about Dahlia. While neither of them can pinpoint why she's been chosen as a zombie for him, they go to sleep. The nightmares shake loose the realization that Aiden remembers a series of events where Josh killed Dahlia and left Aiden alone. He wakes up and while Josh is still next to him, he needs to get some air. He leaves for a walk and when he returns with coffee in the morning, he and Josh assess their time in California and once they're ready, leave to go meet the rest of the group for breakfast. Mia gets a mysterious phone call. She answers, half-asleep, and is surprised to find Spike on the other end of the line. After getting Allison to confirm that it really is Spike, she is both happy and confused to find out her old friend is suddenly alive again. They make plans to meet in New Orleans, and Mia confirms as much with her brother, as well as talking through next steps. She breaks the news to Buffy the next morning, before heading out to New Orleans with the group. There, she meets up with Spike, and sets him up in a suite, while also promising to see if she can find a way to get him a daylight ring. Sam gets some time alone with Allison. They start to get into the Dean of it all, which then leads into a long conversation about what Sam meant when he said that he was Lucifer's meatsuit. He reassures her that he's not likely to become so again - Lucifer is dead and Sam has to consent - but he acknowledges that it's scary, because it's not a time in his life he enjoys thinking back on. Allison suggests that maybe it's time for her to return to the bunker, and the two of them get ready to hit he road and head back to Kansas. Benny and Cordy check in with the wreckage in Mississippi. They meet up with Faith at the boat and aside from a CSI vampire, there's nothing of note and things get wrapped up quickly. They decide to head out to a bar to celebrate their victory, and after having a good meal, Faith talks them into shots. She and Cordelia head to the bar where Faith presses Cordy for info on her bodyguard/partner, and she begrudgingly accepts that this might as well happen. After a couple shots, Angel calls Cordelia to fill her in on what he's seeing in LA. He thinks something is up with the witches that are being targeted under the cover of the Gauntlet, but he has no leads as of now, so he's heading back to Baltimore. Cordy agrees to help him look into it, before returning to the table. She taps out when Faith and Benny agree to go in for more shots, and leaves them to have their fun. Jed is reunited with his friends. He and Ben come to New Orleans and are joined by Hope and Josie, and Hope offers her family home to them until they sort out Jed's school situation. Jed laments that he's missed so much time already, but they reassure him that they'll be able to fix it and things will work out. Jed and Ben go to settle in for their stay, while the girls find a spot for them to have dinner and settle Ben's ravenous appetite. Mia checks in with Hope. They make plans to meet up at Rosseau's and Hope introduces to Mia to some of her local friends. As they head to the bar to get a drink, Mia asks Hope about school, and Hope mentions not feeling completely settled in her current point in life. They discuss their options, and Mia encourages her to do what feels right for themselves. Before they return to the group, Mia asks Hope if she could make a daylight ring for Spike, and Mia gives Hope a brief rundown on the Slayer's version of vampires, but Hope agrees to make the ring and meet Spike. Stefan and Buffy go to meet Klaus for that drink. They meet them at Rosseau's and spend some time reminiscing about Klaus and Cami's wedding and other points of remembrance in there contentious relationship. Eventually Stefan asks if Klaus knows anything about the Arbiter, but Klaus doesn't seem to know any more than Stefan does. They muse on the topic briefly before setting it aside and enjoying the rest of their time at dinner. Elena gets a call from Damon as she arrives in Lebanon. He informs her that he's leaving Mystic Falls and going to try therapy, which she encourages, but he also wants to rehash the circumstances of their breakup, and that Elena doesn't enjoy as much. She gets frustrated that he still can't let this go, and when her father calls that he's here to pick her up, she says goodbye and hangs up on him. Damon retreats to a New Orleans bar to drown his sorrows and is eventually joined by his brother. Stefan does his best to try and support Damon, but in the end, there's not much he can say to make Damon feel better and they decide to settle for drinks and darts instead. Grayson circles back around to pick Elena up at the airport. He and Elena have another tough talk about Elena's history, this time being her time as a vampire, and Elena finds herself defending her choices when she's accused of not doing things that make her happy. She nods off for a brief time and Ezra pays her a visit in their dreams. He warns her that things are about to get real, checks in on Irina, and gets a little bit of gossip about Damon, while allowing her to wax poetic a bit regarding Matt. When she wakes up, she asks Grayson how he and Miranda would like to return to the world, and he says he'll talk to Miranda about it. When they arrive back at the bunker, Elena is delighted to see that Allison came back with Sam, and the girls catch up and Elena is allowed to vent some about her and Damon's conversation. They end Elena's very long day with a drink from Dean's good stash. Ben has to break some news to his friend about Dean. Dean asks Ben if he'd like to play a game of pool, and in the interest of making an effort Ben agrees. They agree to trade off question for question as they score points and it manages to help them have an actual conversation. Somewhere along the way, Dean realizes that Heaven had to know about Ben the whole time, and he tables that for later. When Ben finds out his grandmother on the Winchester side is actually around, he offers an olive branch by saying that meeting her would be cool. When things start to get heavier, it's clear that Ben is still working through a lot and he's not quite ready to trust Dean with those feelings yet. Dean accepts that and heads back to the motel where he summons Cas and they get into it about what Cas did or didn't know about Ben's paternity, which Cas couldn't reason with Dean on. Dean dismisses him, so Cas tags in Sam instead, who puts his little brother powers to good use in getting Dean to actually talk about his feelings. Once Dean calms down and realizes he was being impossible, he calls Cas back and they actually have a discussion about things and enjoy some chill friend time. Ben is still at the bar when Dickerson arrives and tries to get to the bottom of whether or not Ben is giving Dean a real chance, and Ben snaps a little, not responding well to his friend's pressure about things he doesn't understand. They come to an agreement and Ben talks about the good parts of the conversation before they wander off to bother Helene at the bar. After Ben leaves, Dickerson hangs behind with Helene, and they talk about how Dickerson is unable to deal with a problem he can't solve himself. Helene reminds him that Ben needs him to be supportive, he doesn't need him to tell him what to do, and that they all have their issues to work through, and they spend a fun evening killing time. The next morning, Ben goes and pays a visit to his mom to talk through some of the things they never got to talk about from the night Dean left. Ben gets the reassurances he needs, and lets her know that Mary may be coming up to visit and if she wants to be there before heading off to work. Wes gives Mickey one last chance to cut and run. Mickey agrees to stay, and the three members of the Butler-Hamilton clan arrive in a flurry of Southern conversation. Mickey realizes that Wes' parents and aunt are literally characters from Gone with the Wind but weathers it like a champ. He also chooses to introduce himself as Jay Michael and decides to go by that moving forward. They settle in to dinner and Scarlett does make things awkward by bringing up Damon, but Jay Michael also handles that well, and convinces her that it won't be an issue. There's a discussion about immortal touch points, and what an immortal life can look like, and eventually Jay Michael and Wes retreat to the kitchen for wine. There's some light flirting near the kitchen sink and Jay Michael feels as though he's fully come around the corner on the things he's been through, when they're summoned back to the dining room table with promises for a rain check later. Jo gets a surprise visit in her office. Ezra arrives in a cloak and dagger fashion to deliver his portion of the goodbye tour. He reveals that he's heading back to base, and they need someone from the outside to handle the bodies - and the bodies happen to be the key to breaking the Gemini Curse. Jo grills him on the details, and he directs her to Harvey Specter for help. After finishing Ezra heads to Pearson Specter Litt and fills Donna in on what's going on. She updates him on Harvey's conversation with Jo, and promises they'll do what they can to help her. As Ezra is leaving, he runs into his ex, Elton. Elton convinces him to stick around and chat for a bit, reminiscing on old times, up until Elton turns on him and reveals he's turning him in to the Inner Circle in exchange for power. He calls the Inner Circle, and they send David to retrieve both of them. Jo calls Harvey to get more information about the book. Harvey arranges for her to meet with him when she comes to New York to see Lizzie, and she says she will arrange to have someone meet him in Paris. After finishing with Harvey, she reaches out to Bonnie to try and arrange for her to meet Harvey, as well as help with reaching out to any of her contacts. And once that is handled, Jo informs her siblings in the group chat. All of them agree to join and will reach out to their contacts to see who else they might be able to bring in. Bonnie reaches out to Freya for her help. Liv sidebars with her brother about his new boy. She talks Luke into her and Tyler coming up to see him for Christmas and potentially meeting said boy, and warns him to be safe about precognition - it isn't always what you think it is. Jo goes to talk to Ric about the plan. He's not happy with the fact that it has to be her, but he agrees to deflect the girls if needed and that he'll hold on to whatever information they find to give to the girls to handle themselves. Hopefully things will not get worse before they get better, but for now, they have a backup plan. Dawn arrives at the bunker and finally meets the Gilberts. Things get off to a well enough start and Dawn shares some of the history of the Slayers, but things take a turn when the topic of Buffy and Stefan cross the group. The boys try to make their escape and Luke tries to explain magic and what not on the way. After some detours through a nearby apartment building and the sewers they eventually wind up at Luke's place where they can have an actual more in-depth discussion. Robin realizes that if it's in his blood, Maud might have it too, so he asks Luke to come back with him to help him talk to his sister. They go, where Maud, surprisingly, already knows about magic, which derails the conversation a bit, but it makes it a much easier conversation than initially anticipated. Robin goes to walk Luke out, but second guesses it and offers Luke his guest room instead, just in case. Carroll asks Connor if he wants to go to a wedding. Connor agrees and they have some banter in front of the research library until Carroll notices something off near Harvey's office. When he realizes it's Donna, he rushes over to help. Donna is incapacitated in front of Harvey's office and after assessing that she isn't dead, Carroll gives her some of his blood to wake her up. When she does revive, she reveals that some witches took Harvey and sends Carroll after him while she gives Connor the Supernatural Talk. Carroll follows Harvey and the witches down the stairs, and for lack of other options, begins to go to town on the witches to not give them the advantage. It takes some time, given it's magic vs. brute force, but eventually he and Harvey manage to take then all down, and Carroll rushes Harvey back inside to get him off the street. Donna gently walks Connor through the supernatural while they wait for Donna to fully recover. Connor is skeptical at first, but when Donna offers him an out via compulsion, he declines, wanting to make his own decision. She gives him Supernatural 101 until Harvey and Carroll return from the alley. Carroll elaborates on why he knows what he knows, and they all get caught up in the possible problems just in time for Lydia to arrive for her date - which is likely going to take a different shape. Eventually topics shift to the upcoming wedding and Carroll apologizes in advance for his brothers. Connor says he can handle it, and definitely wants to know more about the supernatural world. Jo takes Lizzie and her roommate out for lunch. They're mostly chatting and having a good time when they all start to notice that some of the other diners are paying an undue amount of attention to the three women. Doc shares his concerns with his wife before he heads out to meet his daughter, while Rebekah arranges for a babysitter in order to keep Henry safe while she goes to support her husband and stepdaughter. They hatch a plan - Shep, Annie, Freya and Rowena work on the runes while Jo, Bonnie, Luke and Liv deal with the ghosts. As things break down, through breaking of runes or drawing the ghost's attention, things get complicated, but eventually, Team Pillar makes it to the center and they begin channeling the magic of the pillar away to break it. As they're moving to leave, Susannah Harper appears, enraged that they killed her husband. She gets a good slice into Elena before Dean manages to take her out with a headshot. As Susannah drops, Sierra and Rusty appear and after checking that George is also dead and is relieved that his four hundred year quest is finally done. Sam calls Cas to try and see if he can locate Elena. Cas tries to sense her, but the witches are warding for angels. Sam calls Dean, letting him know that his girlfriend has been taken. Dean has a moment with Ben, explaining why he has to leave, before getting back in the car and saying that he'll call Bela. When Bela answers the phone, she loops in Rusty and tells him that he needs to go to Baltimore, and that she and Rusty would meet him there, as well as distributing some routewitch charms to help them travel faster. Cas brings the charms to Sam and company at the bunker as they discuss what's coming next. Grayson and Miranda are obviously upset with the situation Elena has found themselves in and blames the Winchesters for getting her pulled into this, but Allison, Sam and Stefan push back, and Stefan promises that he will bring Elena back to the Gilberts. Dean arrives in Baltimore to meet Bela, Rusty and Elijah, and Bela breaks down the plan - she, Dean and Rusty will go inside, find the witch on the deed and kill them to let in the other vampires, before moving on to their specific targets. The rest of the backup arrives and the plan gets put into motion. Bela kills Judy and the group splits up, while Stefan, Elijah and Jeremy make their entrance. Jeremy does a good job at drawing attention to them, but when the vampires get their necks snapped, Buffy and Sam move in to back up Jeremy, with Allison staying outside. They continue working through witches, and the witches eventually put a protective spell to try and keep Allison out but the rest in. Eventually they break the staff and kill the witch who cast it, and one of the witches tries to start negotiating, but the vampires aren't really hearing it, and decide to take out the rest of the group. ACT V: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
Allison finds a surprise visitor outside the manor. Jo is shocked to be alive, but she follows Allison's requests, trying to figure out what exactly has happened. Sam comes on the scene and tests her to make sure he's human, but he's just as confused as she is. She decides to head inside to find Dean and see if he did something to bring her back, but the other Winchester is equally confused. She finds out that she's also not the only one - a guy named Matt also has been brought back from the dead. And turns out, so has her mother, who is deposited in by Castiel. As group chats are started and hotel rooms are found, Jo catches up with her mother and realizes that she's from a world slightly to the left. They decide to head out for food, and leave the murdered witches to their final rest. Sam and Allison take a moment after they secure the hotel rooms, and he tells her more about how they lost Ellen and Jo. She tries to comfort him, but Winchesters are piles of trauma so that only goes so far. Still, he reassures her that she has been one of the best parts of his year, and she agrees. After everyone else has gone to bed, Matt and Jo retreat down to the hotel bar for drinking and conversation. They talk about what they're going to do next and Jo invites Matt to come hunting with her, thinking it would be fun. Matt agrees, and they spend the rest of their night playing drinking games. Sheila finds herself in the middle of a burlesque show. Everyone is confused, and Enzo tries to help her navigate her way off the stage. The Bonnie-friendly vampires at a table catch the Bennett name and decide to intervene. Melanie sweeps them off the stage and offers to call Bonnie for them. Melanie makes the call, and after Bonnie talks with her grandmother, Melanie begins to make arrangements to get both her and Enzo to Mystic Falls. She asks Wes to get the car and Jay Michael to reach out to William for help. Jay Michael does just that, calling Mia who calls William and Coop. Coop agrees to come with to check for any problems, and when they get there gives everyone a 101 class on the possible ways to come back wrong. William creates the IDs and passports for Enzo and Shelia, and once they're done, Enzo chats up Melanie. He offers to meet her to spend the holiday once she decides where she's going, and she agrees she'll call him. Julian and Carol find themselves on an empty road. Carol falls back on her old mayoral charm and convinces the bus driver to allow them on board without a fare, and a nearby young man to lend her his phone. She calls her son, who is very surprised to have his dead mother calling him, but agrees to come meet her at the Grille. She and Charlie chat to get to know each other a bit, and they get settled at the Grille until Tyler arrives. They catch up, he orders them some food and arranges to let Waverly know that it is Charlie, and she says she'll be there in five hours. He also checks in with his girlfriend who is unfortunately to drunk to talk, but said she would sober up and call him back. He takes Charlie and Carol back to the Lockwood house to get them settled in for the night, and he and his mom have a heart to heart, not just about Tyler's life now but also about the choices Carol made before he was born. They agree to leave the past in the past, and focus on the future. Liv texts him once she's sober, and he tells her to just come and they'll talk when she gets here. The Earps and the Parker twins arrive at the same time, and Dolls takes a nap in the car while the rest of them sort things out. Waverly and Wynonna come in to check and see if it's really Charlie (it is) and Liv and Luke check and see what kind of magic might have been used to resurrect them, and while they can't pin anything down, they can tell that the spell is complete and there's nothing else waiting to be triggered. Waverly and Charlie move off to the side to check in on how he's doing, and they have a little time getting to know each other as father and daughter. Charlie agrees to come back to New York for Earp Christmas and they plan some father and daughter activities to do together when they get there. Jenna finds a naked woman in the woods. The woman is named Laura and she's rather reticent to talk, but they find there's another woman - Liz Forbes. As they're trying to figure out what's going on, Malia and Parrish stumble over them while on patrol, and Malia feels her day getting a little ruined. She puts together that this is her previously dead cousin and also Caroline's mom, so she rounds up all three of them and heads back to the Sheriff's station. They get them settled, Cora has an emotional reunion with her sister and Stiles is tasked with calling Caroline about her mom. Caroline has a tiny minor freak out because not only is her mom alive but Jenna is a baby vampire who has no vampire training and definitely puts her foot in it in telling Stiles what he needs to do where Jenna could hear it. Caroline talks to her mom, and then Jenna, who she tries to make up for some of it, and tells her that Miranda is also back and arranges to have Miranda call her. She hangs up and freaks out a little more at Ryan who manages to talk her down and get them back on track. She asks him to call Serena to see if she can help them with a daylight ring while she talks to Jeremy. Ryan calls Serena, and tracks her down, and she agrees to come help if he can pick her up in Santa Monica. Caroline comes back after finishing with Jeremy, and they head back in to tell the Cohens they're leaving. Seth follows them up and asks if it's a vampire thing, and Summer realizes her husband hasn't just been a weirdo and Ryan and Caroline are actually vampires. They finish packing and head out to Santa Monica to get Serena. Caroline calls Jeremy about Jenna. She asks him to call his mom and see if he can get her to call Jenna and keep her calm. Miranda agrees, and she calls Jenna, and they talk through the disorientation of coming back and the things that happened between their deaths. Caroline finally arrives in Beacon Hills with Serena and Ryan, and takes the opportunity to hug her mom for a good long time before catching her up. Serena heads to the Sheriff's office to create the daylight ring for Jenna, and then they discuss how they're going to get their people to Mystic Falls when they have no ideas. Between Serena's siren abilities and compulsion from Stiles and Jenna, they have Cora book a private jet for more lax security and will use their natural talents to get the rest of the way. That night, Laura calls Derek to talk to her brother, and they plan to catch up more and figure out what comes next when they're in Mystic Falls. Ellen finds herself in a bayou. A underfed teenage girl stands beside her, and after she invokes Castiel's name, she catches the flash of werewolf eyes that indicates she's clearly on edge. Castiel tries to reassure Erica that he doesn't mean her any harm, and offers to take her to a nearby werewolf pack for help. She agrees and he flies them both to Aiden and Josh while they're visiting with Erroll. Aiden agrees to take her on and get her to Derek, and they head out to the Roszas car. Castiel then called Dean to let him know that he had Ellen, and Dean revealed that he also had Jo. Castiel offered to take her there and she agreed. Aiden called Derek, revealing that they had found Erica, and sent him a picture as proof. Derek asked Aiden to bring her to Hayley's, and then proceeded to call Hayley and fill her in on what happened. Hayley agrees to bring back dinner and encourages him to just take things a little bit at a time. After a run to McDonalds, Erica arrives as she tries to assess how much she's missed and how much has changed while she was gone. She gets updated on the people who have died and not and Scott being the alpha, and by the time Hayley arrives she's in information overload. Hayley brought back clean clothes and a phone as well as food, and Erica goes to the guest room to take a shower. Hayley checks in with Derek while she does, and when she emerges, Erica agrees to go see Scott and Davina after they eat. Davina asks a little about Erica, because she's curious, until she arrives and she can meet the girl in person. Erica asks Scott if she's allowed to be in the pack, and he agrees. Davina looks her over and finds that while she can't pin down the kind of magic that was done to her, she doesn't see anything lurking that threatens to take her back. They then said that they would take her to see Team Leverage to have her be a real person in the world, and Erica is thrilled with the prospect of getting her driver's license - even if she hasn't exactly learned how to drive yet. Derek and Scott promise to teach her. At Leverage Headquarters, Gray and Stephanie arrive to also get their IDs made. While Sophie and Damon chat casually, Gray and Erica get to know each other better, and compare their different experiences while Breanna gets their IDs ready. As Breanna is finishing up Stephanie, Josie arrives to take Erica shopping. Josie is surprised to find that Gray knows her, and that they have history in Gray and Stephanie's world. She has to go, but she agrees to catch up with them later if they come back to New Orleans. Gray thinks the B&B is getting a little weird. He notices that the bedspread seems to have changed, his things are gone and he's lost his phone. Stephanie still has hers but has no service, so they head down to the bar to see if they can use the phone. In the bar, they come across their father getting close to a woman who is not their mother. Stephanie is not having it and she goes to confront Damon who is very confused because last he checked, he did not have children. Gray puts two and two together that this Damon is still a vampire, and Stephanie storms off to try and see if she can find her way home. Gray goes with her and Damon follows, not wanting them to be alone in New Orleans. He herds them into a cafe before stepping out and calling Lindsay to get her take on the situation. She tells him there's precedence for people from other worlds coming into this one and recommends he gets a DNA test. Damon then returns to his children to try and see what he can make of things and finds out that his brother's dead, he was human, and things were very complicated. Stefan calls in the middle of the conversation and reveals that Matt is alive. Damon tells Stefan about the kids, and then takes them to Lindsay so she can see what they know. Colm opens the door and he takes the kids to the kitchen while Damon and Lindsay talk. Lindsay reminds him that he's already at a disadvantage in terms of their expectations, so to just be himself. When they sit down to dinner, Lindsay asks them some about what they remember of the transition, which is not much. After a Target run for clothes, toiletries and phones, they return to Damon's apartment and Stephanie texts her brother about what they plan to do next. He suggests she take some of her questions to Damon - which she does, via text, and he answers all of them. She learns more about her parents current relationships, and will try to be less of a total monster. Freya texts to check in after Damon bailed on their date, and they make plans for a New Year's dance. Fred finds herself in a little trouble in Sioux Falls. Things aren't going well with one of the deputies so Jody intervenes, getting Fred's information when Fred reveals that she may have been previously dead. Jody tests her to ensure that she's human, and gets her setup with a shower and fresh clothes before calling Dean. Dean tells Jody that this is apparently a thing that's happening, and that Fred is a friend of Cordy's so she should know what's going on. When Fred emerges, they call Cordy (who does not answer), and Angel (who does). Angel says that he'll be out to Sioux Falls on the next flight and they'll meet Angel there. Angel and Cordy arrive in the airport, and load into a rental car. They muse about the reasons why this could be happening. When they arrive, they catch up a bit with Jody and Fred before settling in for dinner. After dinner but before bed, Fred and Cordy take some time alone, to fill in the blanks on how they both came to be here. They promise to talk more on the way to Mystic Falls and head to bed. Isobel is having breakfast at Tiffany's. She wakes up to find herself with a witch covered in blood, and while Adrienne is looking for the best way to get what she needs. She bargains with Isobel for a daylight ring in exchange for help navigating this new world. They move to get a fresh wardrobe, and then to get phones, and while Adrienne is getting a tutorial on hers, Isobel steps away to call Katherine. Damian answers the phone and passes the message on to Katherine who takes some time before calling the other woman back. They talk, and Damian asks Katherine if she's going to tell Elena, and Katherine decides not to for now. Unfortunately, other people are not so quick to let it go, and Caroline calls to ask for the information, thinking it may be Nadia. Katherine tells her no, and that it's Isobel. Caroline asks if Katherine is going to tell Elena, and Katherine opts to let Caroline do it. Adrienne checks in with Isobel after the call. They start investigating what Adrienne's coven looks like in the modern era, and they find Max's social media, which then points them to Donna, who works for the coven's law firm. They crash their way into the firm and Donna is less than pleased to see Isobel, but she connects Adrienne with the heirs, who realize that she's Rusty's daughter - a Rusty who they can't find. The heirs take the call offline to discuss what they want to do about it, and David agrees to go get her and Isobel and bring them back to the compound and interrogate her further there. Adrienne agrees to go, and after establishing how much they truly do know about her, she and Isobel leave the firm and go investigate what the Colony looks like now. Group texts as things progress. Waverly reaches out to the Purgatory crew with the news that Julian may have been one of the people making a reappearance. After explaining to Dolls who Julian is, Waverly makes arrangements to find a train to Baltimore and where they will pick her up and drive her to Mystic Falls. Cora texts all the Hales and reveals that Laura is one of the ones returned. They banter back and forth about why Peter didn't know about everyone else. Derek talks about Erica and Cora mentions she's concerned about the next full moon and what it may hold for her. Isaac breaks off a Beacon Hills text thread to discuss the Erica of it all. As updates come in, Malia needs Stiles and Cora to come to the sheriff's station but refuses to tell them why, but caps it off once all the Hales are aware that Laura is back. Dean kicks off a group chat regarding the people coming back from the dead. As they share people appearing in the various cities, questions of the multiverse come up and Barry gets pulled in. They agree to gather as many people as they can together so that Barry can track for any multiverse issues. There's also some revelations about time travel and the Waverider. Davina pulls in Team Leverage to help with the IDs and paperwork, and Sophie agrees, ready to put their crime skills to use. Damon pulls Caroline to the side after the reveal of his kids to fill in some of the blanks away from prying eyes, and Caroline shares that both Enzo and her mom are also back on the board. The conversation devolves to gossip and Caroline admits she can't wait to meet the kids. Lindsay starts a law enforcement chat and they start to strategize on what the cause may be. They realize that all of the people who came back seem to be within six degrees of separation from someone who was at the witch fight that night, appearing in places of profound supernatural power. When trying to twist answers out of Katherine, Stiles says he'll talk to Caroline and comes back with the news that the new people are Isobel Flemming and a witch they don't have a lot of information on. Stilinski and Jody agree to dig into the witches involved to see what they can find out. Stiles reaches out to Caroline about Katherine, and she agrees to reach out. She also checks in with how the people in Beacon Hills are doing, and once she relays what Katherine told her, says she'll be there soon. Stefan opens a chat to the Mystic Falls gang after leaving the Saltzmans, letting them know about Kai and the fact that he's still connected to Jo. No one is happy about this development, but they agree to leave it alone as long as Kai stays away long enough for them to have Christmas and get out. Jo fills in her family about the reappearance of their brother/uncle, which goes over about as well as you'd expect. This also leads to some information coming out about things got up to with dark magic and Shep tells her that eventually they're going to have a long talk about the stuff that Jody's been through. Ric tries to balk at the underage drinking on behalf of his daughters and Jo says she'll keep Kai in Williamsburg until everyone is gone from Mystic Falls before coming home and trying to figure out the rest of this. Emi updates the rest of her siblings (minus the twins) about Elton's situation. Her brothers all react accordingly, and Felicity contributes by dropping in unfortunate pieces of information when she sees fit. They eventually decide to let Elton deal with things in his own time, and not bring in his mother prematurely, but none of them like anything about this situation. Katherine and Damian make a stop in Chicago. Katherine is showing off the apartment, but Damian is a bit caught in his own head. He explains some of his history with the Colony and David and Ezra, and that he is worried about his friends, but Katherine reminds him that they survived the battle and there are people there to help. He agrees and refocuses his attention back on Katherine. The next morning, he thanks her for sticking with him through the the worst of their being on the mood, and Katherine reaffirms that he's her partner and she's not going anywhere. Shep and Annie take a moment after Williamsburg. Annie checks in with him to see if he's freaking out about the smooch she laid on him, and he is, a smidge. She reminds him that they've been friends for a long time, and everything he's worried about her finding out, she already knows. They take the opportunity to further commit to the new relationship, shortly after which they're called back to the Underground when it's revealed that it's raining dead people. They also debate what to tell the rest of the group, and they decide to investigate Serena, Crash and Alexander's bet first before revealing things to the Underground. Luke and Liv have celebratory drinks. As they realize how much of life this opens up for them, they devise a drinking game about what they want with their brand new lease on life. Liv contemplates whether or not she wants to have kids with Tyler, while Luke considers leaving his current profession and finding something different to do with his time. After Tyler calls and lets them know his mother is back, Luke and Liv sober themselves up, wrestling with the craziness of all of these people getting resurrected and preparing Liv to head out and meet her mother-in-law. Max goes to check on his sister. Jaqueline asks him if he's managed to keep track of his new husband, and Max admits that he hasn't. They agree to go track him down later, but Max needs to go talk to Rusty first. He finds him out by his car and they try to hash out what exactly Rusty's deal was with Celeste. Max makes another move, and Rusty seems more receptive, but in the end he still turns him down, not sure if he's ready to cross that line. Max takes that about as well as could be expected and retreats to find his sister. Jaqueline informs him that Hallewell is gone and escaped in the chaos along with Elton. They agree that finding Elton is the priority and they go off to find David and Ezra to touch base. Rusty leaves Baltimore, driving a good distance to pull over to the side of the road to call Rhett. He fills him in on the development of the Inner Circle's death and that he has his life back. Rhett congratulates him and sends him an open invitation to join them in Star City any time. Emi finds a surprise witch in her bar. She manages to twist the events of the past few months out of him, though he tries to hedge some things, like the fact that he has a new husband. She reveals that Lucas is back, and he is happy for her but sad for himself. Emi offers him his usual room, and he takes it, heading upstairs to drink away his troubles. Emi then calls Lucas to catch him up on what's happened and trying to figure out what to do with Elton. Lucas talks her through it and promises to have dinner ready when she gets home. Ezra pulls Elena aside to clean up her arm. Ezra stitches her up and they clear the air between each other and Ezra says that she'll have no further trouble from the Colony. She then moves to check on her brother, who's had a long night, and she asks him to keep an eye on Matt as they all begin to move to the hotels. She runs into Elijah and she thanks him for helping, especially with Jeremy, and they reminisce about how much things have changed over time. She then finally tracks down Dean, and they head to the hotel. After a shower, she and Dean check in with each other, and she thanks him for coming and having her back. They then head to bed, and resolve to deal with everything else tomorrow. Dean tries to figure out how to talk to Bela. Eventually she reminds him that she can't read his mind, and he admits that he's been hanging on to a lot of the past and haven't always given her a fair shake. Bela accepts his apology and they call it square - not quite friends, but allies, for now. After Dean heads out to find Elena, Bela checks in with Elijah, and he suggests they remain in Baltimore for a time, to make sure the coven lands on it's feet. Bela agrees, but promises to make sure they get home for bonfire season. Elijah goes to see Elena, while she reaches out to Sam to arrange lodging. Ezra is wrestling with the events of the evening. David comes in to check on him and they discuss the current state of things as well as what they are looking forward to in the future. As they decide to look at this as a goal achieved and an opportunity for a real life, Jaqueline, Max and Sierra arrive to reveal that Hallewell has flown the coop and they have also lost Elton. Since Ezra is the one who knows Elton best, they expect him to do some of the work of tracking him down. Ezra calls the front desk of the casino, asking for information about Elton and he's immediately redirected to Felicity, who is much less willing to play ball with what Ezra wants, while texting Emi whatever information she can get - which isn't much. Ezra is being incredibly vague and Felicity's attitude isn't helping. Eventually Ezra hangs up and she and Emi compare notes between what Ezra told her versus what Emi got out of Elton. Felicity promises to check in tomorrow before heading home for the night. Sierra doesn't know how to handle the loss of her parents. Jaqueline comes to check on her and talks her through some of the feelings she's wrestling with. They muse what to do with their impromptu marriage but first they have to get everything settled with the coven. Jaqueline then realizes that there is one prisoner she hasn't checked in on, and she is disappointed to find that Hallewell has escaped in the melee. She informs Sierra, who reminds her that Jaqueline's brother made a deal with him so they head out in search of Max. Buffy and Stefan take an emotional shower. They take a moment to process the events of the evening, given how brutal they were, but eventually get some sleep with plans for more relaxing activities in the morning. Those plans are knocked awry by Ric's phone call about Kai and Stefan reluctantly pulls them out of bed to go deal with it. They make a quick pitstop to see Elena so Stefan can convince Elena to call Damon back, before they head to Williamsburg. Elena is reluctant to do so but calls him back on speaker so Dean can listen in. Damon reveals that he was accosted by their alternate universe children and Elena does not know how to process that, but agrees to meet them in Mystic Falls for a DNA test. When the call ends, she and Dean talk about what she could expect, and she encourages him to invite Ben for Christmas. Ben hedges, and tries to reassure Dean that he didn't do anything wrong by going to save his girlfriend, but it doesn't land quite as well as he hopes. When Elena comes back, they discuss next steps, and once done head off to pancakes and head to Mystic Falls to plan Christmas. Taylor gets ready for her new patient. Ben makes his way in and lays out everything that's been going on and what he needs to talk about. They wrestle with the areas where Ben keeps getting stuck in progressing his relationship with Dean, and he confesses that he has issues with feeling like he's not enough, based on the ways that people, both friends, family and romantic, have treated him in the past. Taylor agrees that these are things they'll work on together and as they have more sessions. Damon prepares for his first therapy session. Cami treats this as a normal getting to know you session, giving her usual primer as a therapist and then starting to dig into more of Damon's history, specifically his romantic relationships as that seems to be what he's here to talk about, but the further they go, the more pins she puts in things to discuss later. In a later session, Damon calls a surprise session to talk about his surprise children that have appeared in New Orleans. Damon struggles with whether or not he'll be able to be a good parent to them, as well as how to navigate things with Elena, and Cami encourages him to lean into his support structures and provide whatever support the children require, but not trying to be anyone other than himself. She says she'll be available if something happens on their trip to Mystic Falls. Lizzie toasts her victory in predicting her parents. Danny is startled out of the bathroom, but once she releases him to head back to the shower, Lizzie calls Josie instead to catch up. It is incredibly early in the morning for Josie, but she idly chats with her sister about what their mother and her aunt and uncles were up to. Once she releases her to go to sleep, Danny emerges from the shower and they talk through their plans for the day. He convinces her to indulge his red velvet habit. They head to Bairre's bakery for an early morning treat. Lizzie chats with the baker to get to know him, before she and Danny retreat to a table and she broaches the idea of her transferring to Oxford next year. Danny is absolutely down, he just wants her to be sure because she would be very far away from her family. They also tell each other they love each other and it's very cute. Jay Michael gets introduced to the Canaries. Zoe gives him a full presentation on what the Canaries are and what they do, and he agrees to come on board and help them with some of their cases, but also is sworn to secrecy. Zoe muses about who else may be coming on board, and she and Mia fill him in on some of the complications Connor has been dealing with and how JJ is being a bit of a dick. He and Mia then head out to grab some dinner before she goes patrol. Grayson plans a moment for his wife. He tells her to go get dressed and surprises her with a nice dinner and a night out. He tells her that he's managed to find them an apartment and Miranda is thrilled with the prospect of getting out of the bunker. They talk about some of the things they're still struggling with in terms of coming back from the dead and the lives their children have lived, but they both resolve to do better, and set all the complicated conversations to the side to have a lovely date night. Ric finds an unexpected surprise in his wife's hotel room. Panicking, he calls Caroline, who can't do anything for him because she's in California, so she calls Bonnie. Bonnie is rightfully upset that Kai Parker seems to be a thing again, and she and Isaac head back to Ric's room to see what's going on. They go to wake up Jo who panics when she sees that her brother is alive again and no longer merged with her and is a bit miffed with her husband for letting her sleep. They all move out of the hotel room, and Bonnie washes her hands of it and declares that they're leaving. Bonnie and Isaac head back to their room to pack, and Isaac helps her talk through her feelings. She then calls Elena to let her know what's going on, and makes arrangements to sleep in her guest room in Mystic Falls. Once that's done, Bonnie tells Isaac she loves him, which he reciprocates. Jo and Ric head back in to deal with Kai. They decide that they need to call in backup and reach out to Stefan. Stefan agrees to come out and assess what he can of the situation and while Ric keeps an eye on Kai, Jo calls the girls to check in and let them know they broke the curse. The girls are shocked in response, and Josie bows out, before staring up at Hope's ceiling as she tries to process the truth of that, and the avenues they open for her. This spins into her and Hope having a talk about their future and the things they want, even if it might look a little strange to the rest of the world later. Lizzie asks her mom if she had any impressions of her future before she became a vampire, and Jo says she did, but she wants Lizzie to live the life that makes her happiest. She sends her off back to her day with Danny, before heading back into the room. When Stefan arrives, he briefs Buffy on what to expect with Kai. When they arrive, Stefan headdives Kai, but shockingly pulls Jo in as well. They run some tests and it seems that Jo and Kai are still connected, but are in two separate bodies. Stefan leaves Jo and Ric to figure things out and heads to Mystic Falls. The Saltzmans decide to stay in Williamsburg until the holidays are over and set some ground rules with Kai before settling in for a long holiday. Adal pays Waverly a visit. She reveals her new (old) look and reveals some new information - that she had a son, one that keeps appearing and disappearing over time, and she wants Waverly's help to find him. Waverly agrees to help and suggests running a DNA test to see if Russell exists in any of their existing systems that could help pinpoint where he may be. They do, and on her way back from Mystic Falls, Waverly receives the results. They arrange to meet back at Waverly's apartment and she puts together a Russell murderboard, detailing all of Rusty's various appearances since they started gathering photographs and DNA samples. The news isn't good - it seems that Rusty is just repeatedly being murdered over and over again, but now that they have a picture, they could take the information to Donna and see if she can recognize him. They dress up to crash the Pearson Specter Litt holiday party and head out. Donna does recognize Rusty immediately, and is distraught when she realizes that Rusty is Adal's missing son. She unfortunately does not know where to find him - the heirs have shared that he's fallen off the map, but she does have the good news that she knows where Adal's granddaughter is. Adal debates whether or not she should reach out, and Waverly suggests a neutral meeting ground - since Adrienne is one of the resurrected, they should bring her to Mystic Falls to have her checked out by Barry. Donna agrees to reach out to the heirs, and she does, calling Max and giving Waverly the chance to make her pitch. She passes on the address and other information, and leaves it up to the heirs and Adrienne to decide. After the call, Adal thanks Donna, and when asked if they're going to stay for the party, Adal leaves that up to her date to decide. Waverly declines, deciding she wants a more intimate setting for their first real date, and the two of them head out to the elevator. In the elevator, they reveal a bit more of their feelings before Waverly leans in to give he other woman a soft kiss. Then, they get off the elevator to go and have a quiet dinner together. Max takes the information back to Adrienne and Isobel, as well as the other heirs. Adrienne agrees to go - information is information - and David agrees to take her, as Max has husband business to attend to. Sierra also volunteers to go, but David doesn't think that would be the best idea. They decide to skip the Christmas party and just port in on the day of, so once that's settled, they go to get Adrienne and Isobel's things and help them settle in at the compound.
