( He leaves Jo and Elena there stewing in distrust, distrust brought on by one of her best friends who isn't even in town. He's about to get answers, then, as he follows David into another room. )

[David reaches into his pocket to pull out his phone, placing it on the kitchen counter. He dials the number he has for a certain Benett witch before placing it on speaker as it rings.]

( What follows isn't an explanation, but a call.

Bonnie steps away from communal dinner, leaving Danny laughing with a few slayers. She steps further away back into the hall.

"London is not something anyone would forget, David. What do you need?" )

Is this Bonnie Bennett?

( "David." )

Bonnie, this is my husband, Ezra. Ezra, Bonnie.

[The question about London was more for Ezra - he thought it would take her longer to pick up the phone. Especially considering he hadn't bothered to check time zones.]

You failed to mention that your best friend has cajones of steel, Ms. Bennett.

( He caught her at dinner time, at least he didn't wait another few hours.

"Elena's there?" )

She paid us a visit. Connected all the dots. I also remember London. You're the witch that he saved.

( He has his own, had you stayed maybe he wouldn't have literally stepped through death's door, but, David did a good thing and he thought that had made his husband an ally. )

Why did you warn Elena against me and my husband?

( "I only told her your coven came from dark magic and to be careful. And you can't be surprised I warned her about Harvey Specter."

No, he can't. Not for that. )

So I'm going to hazard a guess that she's here to barter for a cure for the Gemini Twins as well? Not that that wouldn't be obvious with Jo Laughlin standing in my living room.

[He should have seen that one coming.]

( "Can you do that?" Why would Elena have done that herself, when Bonnie hadn't heard first hand that it really was possible. )

She also doesn't want us to ... what, report things back?

She doesn't want a new witch replacement. I think she thinks she's trying to do us a favor.

[David shrugs.]

I don't know anymore than I did in London. I haven't really had the chance to look. But we did have a deal, Bonnie and I fully intended to honor it.

( "What were the odds your husband was Elena's..." She doesn't know what to call him. He's not about to throw out any particular word in response to it. )

I'd say 'call her off,' but she's her own person. She won't believe us if we tell her we're not going to suddenly hand her over, even if they ask.

( "How about you explain to me what you were doing here? And why for the coven?" )

The coven wants the doppelganger. They've been planning something for decades, and keeping tabs on her was a way to make sure she was available when the time came. I don't know what it is, I just know that it's big.

[Losing the doppelganger would be a big kink in that plan.]

If it didn't mean that we'd wind up dead, I'd say we shove her in the back of the Impala and let Dean Winchester take her wherever he wanted, but that's because I'm very invested in not giving the Colony what the want. If they know that she's the last Petrova, they might move up their time table.

( He does hold up a hand. )

Or let her do whatever it is she wants, if that's riding into the sunset with a Winchester, ( Well. He turns his palm upward, continuing. ) We're not going to share that information. Maybe, because Silas was always hidden and inert, we never had a magical bead on him anyway. So as far as the Colony is concerned, Silas is still out there.

( Amara isn't a name they knew. )

And keeping tabs is keeping her safe. Or, it was before the hunter convention arrived.

( "I heard. I also heard it's over."

In Mystic Falls, anyway.)

I think you and I both know that this isn't over. With the damage your friends did here, things are only going to keep ramping up.

[Bonnie saw the same mess in London he did. She knows how messy this.]

I'll leave this up to you, Bonnie. Should we include Elena in our deal? Do you think she can play the game?

And if not, are you going to fill Elena in? Because we're not going anywhere.

( "What did she say exactly?" )

She wants to make a deal. She wants us to stay in Mystic Falls so she knows who her monitors are and I'm assuming she wants to use that leverage for the twins, because she brought Jo with her.

[A Jo that's feeling suspiciously more magic-y than she had the last time he saw her.]

( "She - is she there right now?" )

She's in the other room. With Dr. Loughlin.

( "Okay..." She pauses, closing her eyes, leaning against the wall of the cool corridor. "What are you looking for?" )

Right now? I'm looking to stay off the elders' radar, so if we could not have the doppelganger making a stink, that would be preferred.

[There's a but coming, just wait.]

But I don't want to have to worry about her getting impatient, and taking her big cajones to the coven's front door because that will not get us what either of us want.

( "I'm not saying she hasn't done that before, but I don't think she will in this case. The Colony isn't easily found but you know that. Elena likes her agency, and as her friends, we like it, too. So, maybe we can make this work for all of us. Take me back in with her. Let's settle this, okay? And switch to video."

She ... also gives orders. He just glances to his husband. )

Your call.

[David does as requested, because he still wants Bonnie on his side. He smiles at her smiling face before turning the camera to face Ezra more.]

See? Totally a real husband.

[Because he's well aware that she likely takes everything he says with a grain of salt. and with that, he will head out to the living room to the two waiting women.]

Ladies. A new challenger has entered the ring.

[And he'll hold up the phone so they can both see Bonnie.]

( Not that it matters but, real attractive husband, David. You nabbed someone shady but easy on the eyes.

"Hey Elena."

It's good to see her, even though they did something recently. It was not playing RISK with two witch husbands.

"Hi Jo." )

My husband and Bonnie tripped over each other in London during the first wave of hunter attacks.

[Elena smiles when she sees her best friend, because it's always good to see Bonnie, no matter what. And what Ezra says about London clicks that into place.]

Caroline told me about that. You must have been the witch she was looking for.

["She was looking for me?" He tips his head around so Bonnie can see him. "Aww, look at that. We're real friends now."

That joke is never going to die.]

Look, I just want to be on the same page. I want to know what's going on. This is my life. I let the supernatural run it for way too long, and I'm not doing that anymore.

[She straightens and looks them in the eye.]

My instinct is to get out of town and fly under the radar until we figure out what this is and how to stop it, but this isn't all about me. This is also about Josie and Lizzie. So if me staying put and playing along means they don't have to merge, then I will do it.

( Run it, jerk her around. High school felt like the miseducation of Elena Gilbert, and sometimes, of Bonnie Bennett, and Caroline Forbes. Who didn't make a supernaturally tinged decision, who wasn't forced to.

Bonnie doesn't make the distinction between Caroline looking for him, and her looking for him. Not that he wasn't a dial away. )

You getting out of town, that won't affect your nieces. Their curse, this isn't going to be a one and done. We need more power than we have to break something so ancient. If you feel you should take a vacation, it wouldn't be a bad idea. But, whatever hotel, motel, or small town you lie low in, we're going to be right behind. You do that, and we need to keep the lines of communication open.

( He looks to David, to confirm they'll keep it going both ways in this case. )

["I don't care if it takes a long time, or more powerful witches. We have powerful connections. We've broken old curses before. I know it's not easy but they're worth it."

They are worth it. And Jo is happy to let Elena do most of the talking, but when it comes to her girls, she will drive the point home.]

But just so you understand - she's not saying she's going to leave. She's saying that if you jerk us around and don't follow through on your end of the bargain, I will make her disappear. And I think you and your coven is well aware of how well the Gemini Coven can hide what it doesn't want found.

( "Their end of the bargain, it's a process. But, you're not in danger with them. That's not what they want."

What they do want is a healthy doppelganger and a walking smell ingredient, but, Bonnie's trying to keep the peace. )
